About Clara Censon
I was born in the apartment below ours. Our daughter lives in the other apartment opposite and it is very convenient to have my space yet so near my dear family as I am married to a wonderful English man and live a lot of the time in the UK. We have a daughter and two sons and 8 grandchildren.
Clara Censon purchased this Apartment in 1920
Why Clara Censon chose Rione XIV Borgo
My father bought the apartments in 1920 and left them to the family in his will. I am glad to have been so lucky to have my place in my city, it makes me feel I am still a Roman.
What makes this Apartment unique
Vaticano and Prati. Although this area is dominated by St. Peter's dome, and the attractions of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, food is what draws Romans to Prati. Two of the city's best food stores, Castroni and Franchi, on the main shopping street via Cola di Rienzo, are where Romans from all over the city stock up on prosciutto, cheese, salame and olive oil. In this distric you can see a great range of Historical ages and architectural style as you move away from the Roman Empire in the historic centre. Before Italy was unified the neighbourhood called Prati was just open fields and meadows (prati), but in 1880 careful planning and construction led to the ordered grid of streets that you see today. St. Peter's dome acts as a homing beacon when exploring the city. The other main landmark is Castel St. Angelo, started life in AD139 as Hadrian's mausoleum. In its time it has been a palace, a stronghold and a prison. The Castle gets its name from the angel.

Perfect location - very nice top floor apartment
Just came back from our "Roman Holiday" and we are very happy about the apartment. All was as described, location is very convenient to everything and we walked almost everywhere. Kitchen is small but well equipped. Plenty of food stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. Owners are very helpful and responsive. We appreciated airport pickup option and it was less expensive than regular taxi.
Thank you Clara and Francesca,
we highly recommend it and hope to visit again
Minutes from the Vatican
This apartment is on a very quiet street and only a 15 minute walk from the Vatican. A grocery story is in the next block with great restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Needless to say, many coffee shops. The apartment building even has a very informative, helpful doorman to assist with taxis,.
The apartment is nicely appointed with everything you would need.
The owners went out of their way to assist a couple of weary travelers that had their luggage temporarily misplaced at the airport and helped us retrieve them. I can’t thank them enough.
Wonderful apartment in great neighborhood
Cozy and spacious apartment in great neighborhood. The panoramic view of Rome was so lovely to look at and added tons of light to the apartment. Clara’s daughter Francesca was very helpful and friendly. She helped us with taxi and printed out tickets to soccer game. The neighborhood is amazing- lots of great restaurants, shops, and walking distance to many sightseeing spots. The Vatican is just around the corner. We had amazing time staying and looking forward to stay at the apartment in our future trips to Rome! Thank you!
At home in Prati
I come to Rome twice a year to help with a World War II study trip in Italy for students at the Loyola University of Chicago John Felice Rome Center, so I am familiar with the Eternal City. My wife accompanied me this time and we wanted a nice apartment in Prati. Appartamento Santangelo fit the bill. It was terrific. An unmatched location. Well maintained turn of the century building. Clean. Nice little kitchen, large bathroom and shower. Washing machine. Very reliable Wifi. Comfortable bed. Very nice view to the north. We loved it and would definitely stay again.
Thank you for appreciating our st Angelo home
We were fortunate to spend three weeks in Rome, that eternal, vibrant, lovely city. Part of our enjoyment was our apartment; it was just perfect for us. We got off the elevator, walked the last flight and opened the door and there was an 180 degree view of Rome.
The apartment is large; a large living room, a large bedroom, and bathroom. The kitchen is, hmmm, shall we say, cozy, but had every thing you would ever need. It would be hard to fix a large meal there, but why would you? you are in Rome for heaven's sake.
The place was spotless, furniture comfortable, lots of water in the shower. I really can not think anything negative to say. It was great dealing with Clara and her daughter, who lives downstairs. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is only a few blocks to St. Peters, and the Metro is about 10 minutes away; buses just around the corner. After we learned the map a little we walked every night or afternoon, the Tiber is just a few blocks away, and across that is the old city, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, etc. We walked to all of these, it's a long walk, but lots to see while doing it. We even found an English speaking protestant church about a 20 minute walk (a rare find in Rome, as you might expect).
We would return in a flash.
Perfect in all ways
Thank you for another lovely stay in your apartment. Hope to come back again soon.
