Location was great. The house was very clean and well equipped with very comfortable beds, however, the significant trip hazard in the kitchen dining area ,which we were not pre warned about , was very disappointing. There was also only one hands free shower which was in the en-suite bathroom. The shower in the main bathroom was a hand held device in the spa bath which can be somewhat tricky!
I'm sorry for your disappointment, but I've send you an welcome SMS, were I've pre warned and explained you unexpected kitchen dinning floor situation. Unfortunately you must do not read it as you did not responded. The shower in the main bathroom is European style and is hand fee as is hung back on the special hook on the vertical rail which hold it including soap holder for your convenience. I wish you have call me, SMS me or email me. I'll be more then happy to talk to you, explain and give you some instruction. Anyway I'm glad that, you like location and enjoyed your stay in the Beach Townhouse. I'm looking forward to see you again soon.
Best Regards Eva
Very well located and spacious house
We had a very good weekend. We were 6 adults, 3 teenagers, 1 todler and 1 dog.
Space for everyone and good time all together.
We have stayed annually at Hawks Nest for 18 years, randomly finding a house to stay. This is the first year I have never had to pack linen!! BLISS! and despite my standard beach house holiday pack of all the things that I may not find in the house e.g. decent knives, plastic cups and wine glasses and plastic Tupperware containers, I need to not have worried. Everything there you require.Extremely comfortable accommodation for a family of 5 ( large teenage children) and grandparent couple. Airconditioning was perfect . Comfortable level walk to shops or a 3 min drive. The property is pet friendly which we took advantage of for the first time, Only comment there is that the out door enclosed area is a concrete courtyard only. However a simple wander to the grassy street down the drive way. I had the pleasure of meeting Eva and she was delightful! We would stay again .
EASY HOUSE GOOD ROOMING & RELAXING TIME. CLOSE TO THE BEACH ESPECAILLY FOR DOGS. GREAT GOLF COURSE. FRIENDLY AREA GOOD RESTAURANTS. WILL BE BACK...
Very well appointed and fantastic attention to detail
We stayed in 2 of Eva's townhouses over Christmas with the whole extended family and had a fantastic stay. Both were clean, well presented and very well appointed, particularly in the Kitchens. Eva has paid special attention to detail and even went to the extend of putting up Christmas decorations for us which is a first (and we have hired other places over Christmas several times in the past). We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay Eva :-)
Sally once again thank you for choosing The Beach Townhouse for your Christmas accommodation. I'm glad that you had a good time and enjoyed your stay. Most appreciate for your kind and lovely comments and I'm hoping to see you again soon. Cheers x
Great pet friendly place
Our stay was great! A good spot close to everything, and plenty of room for a dogs. Had a great stay! Very clean, and easy to deal with. Would defiantly stay again.
We are glad that you had a good time and enjoyed your stay Erica. We are looking forward to your next visit. Best Regards Eva
Myall Lakes National Park
Hawks Nest is also one of the main access points for the outstanding Myall Lakes National Park, a 31 562-ha reserve which combines such coastline features as fresh and salt-water lakes, swamps, high dunes, rugged headlands and 40 km of beaches stretching from Hawks Nest north to Seal Rock . Cross the bridge, follow Kingfisher Ave to its end then turn left. The road is sealed. There are also five signposted beach access tracks for 4WD vehicles which depart from Mungo Brush Rd (they are only permitted south of The Big Gibber).
The park starts 4.3 km north of Kingfisher Ave and there is an information board at this point to help you orient yourself. You can, if you choose, walk the 21-km Mungo Track to Mungo Brush, a popular camping and picnic spot on the southern shore of The Broadwater, the southernmost of the three Myall Lakes where the bird life is prolific. It starts from a sign posted spot 750 m along the road from the information board. 8 km from the information board is the start of the Dark Point walk to the right and the Wallflower Walk to the left (directly opposite). The former leads over a series of vast, denuded and impressive sand dunes, past an ancient Aboriginal midden to an absolutely beautiful and unspoiled bit of coastline looking out over Broughton Island. Both Broughton Island and the waters off Little Gibber are noted diving spots. The former is a good spot for fishing, bushwalking and relaxing. Camping is permitted and there is a toilet, an emergency radio and some drinking water. However, access from Tea Gardens is only in the peak period and then is not guaranteed. Nelson Bay are a more certain bet but only in summer. Otherwise you must make your own way. Little Broughton Island is an important breeding location for a number of birds. The Wildflower Walk, and the park in general, are best between August and October.
The Mungo Brush Rainforest Walk is a shorter 30-minute trek from the picnic site at Mungo Brush campsite (14.1 km from the information board). For more information on Mungo Brush and the park in general see the entry on Myall Lakes. Experienced guides can be hired for all local walks, tel: (02) 4997 0872, or phone the visitors' centre.
Dark Point (Little Gibber) Trail
This walk takes you across giant sand dunes to an Aboriginal midden and the Little Gibber Headland. Aboriginal sites are protected, and relics must not be removed.
