About this property
Bellview - located near Maleny
Nestled in the Blackall Mountain Range, Bellview, a 45 acre property is only over an hour's drive from Brisbane. It promises a serene rural-mountain retreat for couples getaway or a place to introduce your kids to the wonders nature has to offer - a good start would be with the cows on the property.
Bellview is almost 2000ft high in the mountains overlooking Moreton Bay with the magnificent peaks of the Glass House Mountains rising from the flat plains.
Wake up to misty mountain fresh air on cool mornings, crisp morning walks on the wide tracts or enjoy a picnic breakfast amongst nature in the company of birds singing their morning songs.
Explore the rainforest and catch surprised glimpses of wildlife in peaceful surrounding, in particular, on misty mornings.
While away the days with a painted piece of memory on your easel or picnic by the dams.
Seeking Something Different To Do?
For the more adventurous, explore the untouched bushland with rainforest, waterfalls and creeks in the Bellthorpe National Park and Bellthorpe State Forest in the vicinity. These are havens for bird and animals species, many of which are endangered. However, permits are required for mountain bike riding, four wheel driving and motorcycle touring in the National Park.
Cyclists are also a common sight challenging the winding, mountainous roads with beautiful views that make the rides both exhilarating and rewarding.
The world renowned Woodfolk Folk Festival held between 27 December to 1 January each year is located a short drive away from the foot of the mountain range. It is one of the biggest annual cultural events featuring a wide range of performance styles, musical genres and nationalities. The final evening of the festival culminates in a spectacular New Year's Day closing ceremony.
Laid Back Activities:
A visit to the Australian Zoo, made famous by the late Mr Steve Irwin, is where you can cuddle a koala, hand-feed Asian Elephants, walk with a Sumatran Tiger and watch a crocodile launch from the waters edge.
Maleny, a short drive away, offers a bit of hustle and bustle for a change from the quiet rural farm-lifestyle in Bellthorpe. One can make a day trip visiting wineries, the cheese factory and farm tours featuring cow and goat milking. It also offers a variety of eateries that serve the usual Australian fare as well as Italian, Thai, Indian and Chinese food.
Along the road to Maleny is where you will find the Mary Cairncross Reserve with its rich history and a conservation park not to be missed.
Further on is the small town of Montville where it offers great shopping and dining. Another attraction to pass an afternoon.
However, if one is looking for absolute peace and quiet to escape from city living, then perhaps spending your days in Bellview savouring nature, reading a favourite book by the dam, dine under the stars or watch your favourite DVD movies might just be the best thing to do.

Quiet country area with everything you need. Spacious and cosy. Ideal location for hiking in Glass House Mountains. The only negative was a poor phone reception - you have to walk outside the accommodation to make a phone call or connect to the internet.
Simple yet spacious and practical. Very easy to contact tje host, find the property.
Facility is humble and bedding comfortable. Host is lovely and relaxed, not at all awkward.
Great location and great water. It was very relaxing and easy. No mucking about. Good value indeed. Thank you.
This little cabin was perfect for a cosy girls night away. It was extremely clean and comfortable. We made ourselves comfortable for a glass of wine in front of the fire! The view is stunning. The beds were very comfortable too however I suggest getting them looked at as they are a little squeaky when you move/roll in bed. Marissa was absolutely beautiful to deal with and extremely helpful
Our host was friendly, responding quick to questions online prior to booking and informative to question at arrival. The place was homely, comfortable and roomy.
We enjoyed our stay and will be visiting again.
If you like high-speed internet and fluffy towels, this may not be the place for you. However, if you would like a secluded, spacious yet modest accommodation along a windy road atop an escarpment, this may be perfect. Forget Netflix and either busy your days with exploring the beautiful countryside of the Maleny area, or bring your favourite DVDs. The road is best travelled in daylight, so plan your days accordingly. Mary Cairncross Reserve is a family friendly bushland experience, with a variety of birds and quite tame pademelons. Maleny and Montville have plenty to offer and there are several bush-walking areas within easy travel distance.
Our host was very welcoming - just be careful not to burn the toast (and set off the alarm).
My wife and I had a wonderful night with fire going and just peice and quiet. The cows and veiws we're quaint. The property itself was nice. Some soft furnishings like floor rugs and new blinds along with some nicer lighting would make all the difference to the coziness of the place. But I'd recommend staying here if you just want toget away from it all. Very private and quiet.
We had a wonderful stay. It was great being away from ‘it all’ *but* with access to a decent TV & DVD player cos well what is a holiday without movies at night for the kids! We drove to Stoney Creek both days & had the best swim. We walked all through the paddocks behind Peter & Marisa’s. Which the kids loved. They also allowed us to bring along a third child which was fantastic!
Great location; spotlessly clean; Marisa was very friendly and accommodating and we really liked that there were paper towels, lots of dishwashing liquid, soap, tea etc. It had everything you need, was very comfortable and good privacy- maybe an extra drying line would be good.

Not worth the drive.
Loft room bed wasn't made as we were told it gets to hot, but quite the opposite it was cold at night no spare blanket no reverse cycle air con just pedestal fan and no firewood was supplied for wood burner. The downstairs bed was the bed we had to sleep in, this bed was so uncomfortable and squeaky. The best part with sleeping downstairs was no block out curtains so we woke with the sun smashing us through the blinds at 5 in the morning and had to hang a sheet over the kitchen window cause nothing was their at all so not that private feeling. The photo of the back of the glass house mountains is from their house and the property you stay in is a shed that is in a cut out so your view is of a dirt wall. Their was no carport to park your car and it hailed.
We have stayed in hundreds of places. Maybe the owners need to think about serious improvements if they want to continue charging so much cause at the moment you get so little.
This was our second stay here and we love it. Marisa and Peter are lovely hosts and we love staying here. So relaxing and peaceful even waking up to the sounds of the cows is wonderful.
Very comfortable cabin in a lovely setting. We would have likedcto stay longer

Quiet retreat
Accommodation was comfortable without being over complicated. Everything you need, nothing you dont sort of place. The only sounds you can hear at night are crickets and a few frogs, very peaceful and relaxing to sleep to. Enjoyed getting up close to the resident cows for a feeding session as well.

Peace & Serenity
We had our Christmas at Bellview, on our own for the first time ever. It was so peaceful and quiet, with the fire going in the middle of the day, yes, in summer in the middle of the day, in Queensland, was so beautiful. Our little furbaby, did not quite know what to make of those huge big dogs (cows). The walks were great, with the undulation of the property, our exercise was a plenty. The 'cabin' was well equipped and comfortable.
