Currawaong Cottage is an idyllic 2 storey family holiday home in a level quiet street on the waterfront in Careel Bay, with direct access to the beach and pristine waters of Pittwater, it provides all you need for a relaxed break.
Property has 5 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and can sleep a maximum of 8 people (one queenbed and bathroom are on the ground floor)

General tariff (exceptions in peak periods)$650pn based on four (4) persons
additional people above 4 persons per night up to 8 persons $50 per person

Linen and Cleaning $250 per stay
COVID additional fee (noted as Administration fee) to clean and disinfectant of high touch surfaces, light switches and all door handles and window latches, hard chair surfaces etc $250

Currawong Cottage is an ideal destination for a holiday or short break at any time of the year. It is situated between Palm Beach and Avalon village, easy walking distance to Careel Bay shops and restaurants, Hitchcock park sporting facilities and Avalon Beach. The surf at Palm Beach or Whale Beach is a short drive around the peninsula. There is a public golf course at Palm Beach and Avalon. Water activities include fishing, boating and ferry trips from Palm Beach wharf. You can climb up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse (open on Sundays) which affords spectacular panorama views and is well worth the effort, or take a sea plane scenic flight.
The location offers the utmost in serene peacefulness, listen to the cicadasā€™, the cackle of kookaburras or just gaze out over Pittwater and watch the seabirds and boats.

We had a nice stay at Vanessa's place. Quite location and easy living home on the Pittwater shore. Comfortably decorated spacious areas throughout. Had everything we needed.

great location but at exorbitant rent our expectations were for clean, mould free rentalants were coming out of one upstairs power point which was off puttingmould was evident in upstairs wardrobes which is very bad for healthI would like recompense financially for this

Family weekend

We stayed at Currawong Cottage for a weekend with my sisters and our elderly mum. My mum needed a house where she could use her walker due to mobility problems - the house was perfect for her as all living areas and a bathroom and bedroom were downstairs for her so she had no steps to manage. The house is In a great location and we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the sunset and seeing people walking past with their dogs. The house is well equipped and communication and instructions with the host were fantastic! A great weekend.

Meeting our new grandson

The property was ideal for our purpose. Incredible views and the house was incredibly well equipped, especially the kitchen. The only negative was the fact the downstairs bedroom smelt a little damp. Retro bathroom was delightful. We had a great time!

Quiet, extremely comfortable & well appointed water front home.

We had a most relaxed & enjoyable 4 days at Currawong Cottage. It was perfect for our family. Great layout; heaps for young kids to do. Very well laid out and heaps of inclusions. Just perfect for us!

Excellent property and location

Delightful, weā€™ll appointed home with a beautiful view over Pittwater. Currawong Cottage was perfect for our family stay. Spacious with a large living room and very comfortable for the six of us. Situated well between Avalon and Palm Beach and just a short drive to the local surf beaches and shops. In a peaceful, quiet location with kookaburras to wake up to. Perfect. Perfect weekend retreat

Great, clean property on a quiet street with water views. We spent the weekend here to attend a wedding in Palm Beach and there was plenty of space for 8 adults to sleep, cook, eat and play. The pool table is great for indoor fun and there were kayaks and stand up paddle boards that we would have used if we had the time. Booking and check in with our host Vanessa was super easy and she was very responsive to our questions. Also the perfect spot to watch the many dogs of the neighbourhood being walked along the water :) Would recommend!!

Son's Wedding

Booking the property, communication with the owner and access to the property was excellent. The perfect house for our family to be together and relax and enjoy the weekend of the wedding. Everything we needed was provided in the house, and recommend staying in this property.

Pittwater stay at Palm Beach

Pros: - A nice little house for a few days. - very nicely decorated, as shown in the photos, with comfortable beds and pillows and quality linen. - kitchen had EVERYTHING (except maybe a rice cooker) - bathrooms had everything you needed as well, but bath mats would have been a good addition. - some board games and cards provided - house was generally very well-equipped Cons: - somewhat misleading photos of the view and the house itself from the beach. It looks across to the other side of the estuary, not down towards the sea, as in the photo. - the house from the beach is the dark orange brick one in between the new grey one and the one on the other side of the hedge. The photo should show this property only or have an arrow indicating which one it is. - like a lot of houses on the coast, this is advertised as air conditioned when in actual fact it has ONLY ONE wall unit only above the stairs, to cool both upstairs and downstairs. It just wouldn't cut the mustard on hot days. - the bedroom downstairs has a damp problem and an unpleasant musty smell. I do not think it's healthy. - the extensive essay of "don'ts", which I received with EVERY communication was off putting. I appreciate that owners want their houses to be respected but I think this needs to be couched in more cordial terms, eg. "We hope you understand how inconvenient it would be for the fan controls to be misplaced so we would very much appreciate that you could make sure that they are returned to their holders" , etc etc etc - a better list of local restaurants, cafes etc in a folder marked as such on the outside, would have been good.

Location, location, location

Right in the middle of everything. Easy Uber rides into Palm Beach and surrounding restaurants. Upstairs area could do with a makeover. Having one bathroom with the toilet in the same area was not great. Only four of us upstairs and one of us downstairs but would have been difficult and inconvenience having 8 stay over say a week.

Family stay on Pittwater

We had a great time playing on the river, the children loved the kayaks and paddle boards. The water is shallow so felt very safe. There was lots of space to explore and run on the grassy banks. It was perfect for 2 young families.
