The Yellow door Katoomba

It was the second time we stayed here for a relaxing holiday. The house is warm and cozy with all the amenity supplies. Highly recommended as it located within the heart of Katoomba, close to everything; shopping and restaurants as well as the station and attractions.

Good value and an excellent location

It was cosy, a little dated, but everything we needed at a fair price. The kitchen includes an oven, stovetop and microwave so everything we needed to save some money by cooking ourselves. Excellent position, would stay there again.

Living with all mod cons of the 1980s and TV and internet.

It was a bit like stepping back in time. Everything was perfect since that was what I expected. The support was excellent. The location perfect for all trips. Supermarket across road. Parking good. Thank you.

Great location

Great location in katoomba, short walk to the supermarket and main st. Easy checkin and cute little one bedroom, really convenient to everything and they provide a huge umbrella to use which is essential on blue mountains drizzly days.

Comfy cottage

Very comfortable accommodation with full kitchen, choice of movies, and super shower. Great location close to restaurants, grocery stores, and national park trails. A very nice place to stay and enjoy Katoomba.

convenient location in Katoomba

This is an older property and is a bit quirky but it is decorated with warmth and good taste. Suitable for a couple. Central location for exploring the Blue Mountains.

Nice getaway but kitchen could be cleaner

Most of the stay was exactly as described. However, the kitchen draws and some cookware was not clean when we arrived.

Spacious quirky cottage in the heart of it all

Enjoyed our short stay. It was rainy and cool for part of our stay but the heater worked well. Unfortunately with only one voltage adapter I had to unplug the electric blanket on one side to plug in my CPAP, but then comforter was really warm. The only issue was the pillows were pretty flat and not very comfortable. The bathroom door opens awkwardly and the shower is a bit small but all functional. The kitchen was stocked well and there was tea, coffee (beans) and milk which was really nice. Cute little deck in the back where we were able to enjoy a drink when the weather finally cooperated.

cute and convenient

A cute little cottage in a very convenient location. Hugo is a great communicator and offered early check in and late check out which we didn't use but was much appreciated. Close enough to walk to the train (700m) if you don't mind a little hill on the way. Woolies is across the road and the main street a few metres walk where you can catch the local bus or the hopper bus. The sunroom was a little noisy as it is close to the street and the path to the bins was slippery in the rain so take care. Loved the easy keyless lock. The weather ranged from 16C to over 30C and the house was comfortable in all temperatures. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Great base from which to explore the Blue Mountains

We stayed two nights and enjoyed having the full kitchen to cook breakfast. Perfect location to walk around town or even out to Echo Point. Bed was comfortable but I wished I'd brought my own pillow as the pillows were very flat. The heater and electric blanket kepts things warm. I'd stay again.

Gem of hideaway in the heart of town!

Yellow door is situated in a great location, central to everything.It is well equipped, with the owners going out of there way to make sure every little possibility is catered for. Lovely warm cosy unit. We frequently left the car and explored the history of the area its eclectic shops and scenic areas. I recommend. Very well priced, with the owners being very diligent if needing to communicate through Stayz. My only concern was, mainly as I’m aging, the need for a rail on entryway stairs.

Great location. Place was nice and warm on those cooler days. Had everything I needed. Close to all shops to buy food, or to eat out. Thank you. I also felt safe being on my own.

A convenient location for access to walks and to shops.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the host is very pleasant and accommodating. The location is acceptable if you are staying for a night / passing through but it is not desirable as a holiday destination.

Don’t judge a book by its cover

The outside looks a bit dilapidated but looks can be deceiving. Inside is a mixture of old and new. Very comfortable, clean & cosy! Great for couples or with maybe 1 child. Close to everything and good value for money. The hosts communication is great and the incidentals like free coffee, tea and extra are really thoughtful. We would definitely stay again if we go to the mountains again.

Katoomba gem return

An ideal place to decompress or base to explore. I'm a return stayer and always appreciate this place's homeliness (coffee plunger with coffee snd tea always a welcome sight), cleanliness and proximity to everything the mountains has to offer. Etter than a hotel or motel eoom! And thanks for the unexpected and welcome offer of a late checkout. Great communication.
