Wonderful experience & great place to stay!
This is a great place to stay for families! We loved the pool and the spaciousness of the house for us. The kitchen was well-stocked for making meals and had all the dishes, utensils, pots etc. we needed. Soap, towels, etc. were of high quality. Everything was so clean!!!
The property manager is very thorough with all needed info. Home was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Our vacation was during covid but the private pool and private beach made for plenty of fun and sun. Also had bikes and canoes. Plenty to do. Would stay again.
Lovely home (really - feels like a home not just a house) and perfect communication before and during stay. Though barely needed during stay since everything is as expected and in great shape. Pool is fantastic and the deck box is full of pool accessories. Used Instacart for Publix deliveries and dashed over to Starbucks a couple of times. We were teleworking (a covid break from our No. Virginia home) so we didn't do too much exploring. Siesta Key, Venice beach and visited some friends in Sarasota about covers it. Great location for us. Thanks for making it a great stay and thanks for having a pet house - which doesn't even figure into this review since there were no telltale signs of pets. Would definitely return!
Great place to stay.
This place was lovely. One of the nicest places I have stayed. Clean an organized. I will book again.
Quiet, peaceful safe haven in Venice
We stayed in this house while Florida was in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic in April. We found the house to be well-maintained and the outdoor space was quiet and peaceful. We appreciated the fully fenced, private backyard especially because we brought our small dog. The pool was lovely, it had a southern exposure with full sun all day. It was a great place to spend our long days practicing social distancing.
Doral the owner., was very responsive to our questions. She always answered immediately and was very considerate. I would highly recommend staying at this property. Hopefully we can return again to experience all the area has to offer, such as beaches, parks and restaurants.
Venice Florida is a friendly and vibrant city located between Sarasota and Fort Myers, directly on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Crossing one of Venice's bridges to the historic downtown area, known as 'The Island of Venice', instantly transports you to a place of unparalleled charm where palm tree lined avenues host an endless choice of exciting things to do and see. You’re sure to find a shop or boutique to satisfy your style out of the 100+ unique shops, salons, and other businesses along the Island Avenues of Venice. If dining is your idea of excitement, your palate will be especially pleased with many sidewalk cafes and several picturesque waterfront restaurants.
About Dorelle Ackermann
I have owned vacation rental property in Colorado since the 1980's (vrbo #44235). In December, 2015, I vacationed in Venice, Florida and stayed at this property with my daughter and our two golden retrievers. I love kayaking and was thrilled with all the outdoor activities available in South Venice. When I learned that Glen's property was for sale, I didn't hesitate to buy it and I hope to continue to share it with others on VRBO. I am committed to maintaining the quality of this listing that received 25 - 5 star reviews under Glen's management since 2012. Having myself received 47 5- star reviews for my Colorado property, I'm confident I am up to the challenge.
Dorelle Ackermann purchased this House in 2016
Why Dorelle Ackermann chose Venice
Beaches, Biking, and Kayaking, all within walking distance, is a big reason I chose this property. I stayed at this property for two weeks before purchasing and I learned first hand how comfortable a home it was. As a dog owner, I appreciated the fenced yard and screened lanai and pool where I could spend outdoor time with my dogs. Two nearby dog parks were also a big plus for me. My daughter (shown in the picture kayaking with Nala on the nearby Braden river) loves the quaint downtown Venice area for its unique shops, restaurants and town square.
What makes this House unique
South Venice's most unique asset- A deeded 1,300 foot private beachfront property on the Gulf of Mexico makes this property unique. Included in your Rental Rate are passes to the South Venice Ferry which departs less than a mile from your house-(a short bike ride)! The 18 passenger ferry drops local passengers at a private, blissfully quiet stretch of Manasota Key with access to clear surf, deserted shore and spectacular shelling. Searching for fossilized shark teeth is another beach activity that adds to the enjoyment of Manasota Key. Additionally, Venice, Fl. was just rated as the 9th best place to retire by Kiplinger.
