Excellent stay for a multi generational family. Plenty of space to spread out yet still cozy and homey. We stayed for 5 days and attended a wedding near by. Perfect for our overseas family members to take in an iconic Sydney suburb. Would definitely stay again.

Absolutely spectacular!

Our family had a wonderful 9 day stay at the Oriana. The property was just perfect, from the fabulous location and amenities, to the spectacular view! It is very spacious, with room for everybody to relax and enjoy the stunning views of Balmoral Beach. The kitchen had everything we could need, and the beds were very comfortable. The property is even more beautiful in person - we were beyond delighted with Helen’s home. She was incredibly accommodating and helpful, and we look forward to staying at her gorgeous home again in the future.

Amazing location and friendly hosts

We absolutely loved our time at the Oriana - so amazing to be right on the beautiful beach with great cafés nearby and easy public transport into the city. Helen and David were lovely hosts, kindly taking us to the supermarket and showing us around on our first day. The property was fabulously well-suited for our three generations' holiday!

Charming beachfront apartment

Beautiful location with magical views directly on Balmoral Beach. Spacious and well set up apartment. Hosts Helen and David are wonderful. A perfect choice for us to experience Sydney at its best.

Things didn’t start off good. When we arrived the owner had towels from previous tenants showing us the stains on the towels that were left from sunblock and she was very upset about the small discolorations. She wanted us to see what was happening to her towels and make sure we know to wash off sunscreen completely before using her towels. This interaction put us on high alert and made us very cautious knowing that she was very particular. Then every day after returning to the home we notices exterior doors propped open. Doors that I specifically checked and closed myself. It really bothered me and it happened multiple times. I had a suspicion that maybe the owner or her husband were going into the home when we were away. The owner and her husband live in the lower unit. Then while one of my friends was in the driveway washing sand off at the hose she noticed somebody in the window. She didn’t realize at that moment that it was the window to our unit. Then she heard the front door close and the side gate to the owners yard close. That was our confirmation that one of them was going into the unit when we were away.

I am very surprised by your review and rating of one, as you all had assured me, on leaving, that you all enjoyed your stay and would love to come back. As a responsible owner I always wish to present the property in as pristine condition as possible and naturally want guests to enjoy their stay. Most of our bookings are repeat bookings. However, I was disappointed that on leaving you did not inform me or apologise for the damage that was done by you, or members of your party, by carelessness and/or heavy handiness. Damage unfortunately cannot be undone. Photos of damage were taken by the Cleaning Service and were emailed to you with a statement and it appears that this may have prompted your review. What surprised me most, were your assertions. We never enter the property without guests’ permission during their stay, nor is it possible to view anyone through the windows of the penthouse apartment when washing off sand in the driveway. I am truly saddened that you should think it necessary "to invent” to support your low rating.

5 Star Living on the Beach

From the check in process and the friendliness of your host to the Location Oriana is the most perfect of stays. The place is superb and fully equipped including beach toys for our granddaughters and you literally walk out of the front door onto the beach. The area is wonderful with great beach facilities including a secure open sea bathing area along with great restaurants and only 15 mins from Taronga Zoo by bus and Mossman Wharf for the ferry to the city. The ability to be able to sit on the veranda or in the sun room and watch the world go by whilst keeping an eye on the kids in the water some 100 feet away was amazing. We cannot say enough about Dr Helen and her family and Oriana - except we will be back.

Those sunrises!

We booked the Oriana for our family to be altogether in the lead up to my daughter’s wedding. It it is so wonderfully located, right on Balmoral Beach. The sunrises every morning were magic. My daughter and bridesmaids got ready for the wedding from here and it was perfect! The Oriana is spacious, light filled with lots of different living areas that really make it a very comfortable place for a group of adults. I would highly recommend The Oriana and would love to return one day!

Fabulous location

Everything you needed was provided. This is a beautiful house with amazing views. We regretted not booking for longer than 5 days. Helen was helpful and enabled us to book in early due to our early arrival. Watching the sunrise was a highlight, falling asleep to the sound of the waves was magical. I would highly recommend this house it is meticulously clean and well maintained.

Unbelievable!

The Oriana was absolutely amazing, Helen was fantastic. Helen met us when we arrived and was ever so obliging saving us a parking spot for our arrival and to take us through the property. The pictures are stunning, however being there is even better. They sound of the beach was soothing and you could feel yourself just decompressing from the hustle and bustle by the minute. We highly recommend staying there at least once. Add it to your bucket list. We are definitely going back.

Magical location

Such a magical location. You don’t feel like you are so close to the city. Waking up to the incredible views is something special indeed. The beach is clean and popular with swimmers and runners but not crowded. Rooms are all spacious. There’s plenty of space to spread out and serve a diverse group of ages. The kitchen is well stocked. It is an older elegant home so caution kids to be careful with furniture and fixtures. There are a lot of glass surfaces/ tables I was nervous about with our active 4 yr old.

Spent every morning on the beach…

We loved this property! Waking up, pouring coffee and literally walking the 45 steps to the beach was like a dream. Sunrises from the sunroom are breath taking. This is a quiet area, but still feels lively with the beach club next door and lots of people walking and running in the morning time. Though we didn’t partake in them, there are some restaurants and coffee shops nearby within walking distance. If going to Manly Beach … the bus on Esplanade to the Taronga zoo is perfect to catch the ferry to Manly. The ferry ride back from Manly will give you UNBELIEVABLE views of the Sydney Harbour bridge and Opera House. The kitchen was fully stocked, even a bottle of wine was in the fridge and some sweet treats were left for us to enjoy. We had an abundance of space for (4) adults and rarely used the living room at all because we spent all our time soaking up the views of the sunroom. Our hosts were wonderful and so kind. We would HIGHLY recommend this property to other guests!

Amazing Experience!

We have immensely enjoyed our stay at this property . You can not get so up close and personal with one of Sydney's most beautiful beaches anywhere else. The property is so clean and convenient. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and above all the hosts, Helen and David are very lovely people. We will definitely go there again. Highly recommend it.
