This single handed crafted self catering , unique 2 bedrooms Cottage has a stunning breathtaking views included the majestic mountains and valley. It’s open living at its truest form. Eco friendly with all modern kitchen etc...internet, tv...couches for relaxation.
Located in the Roseau Valley, adjacent to the Morne Trois Piton World Heritage site, it’s only a few minutes’ drive to many attractions, such as Trafalgar Falls, Middleham Falls, Titou Gorge, Sulfur Springs and lots more..the capital is a few minutes’ drive away.

The overall property includes the villa “AURA” and a one bedroom, self catering apartment called “Gardens Edge” and now "Sizo Cottage".
You are in a nature retreat., A soulful place filled with peaceful, serene and calming energy. It is surrounded by lush flowering plants and tropical vegetation.

Nice cabin, good view and in nature

Everything you need is there. We were however unfortunate with the continuous rain, which made the open space a disadvantage (no way to get your clothes dry anymore). It is easy enough to go down to the (dryer and sunnier) coast, so location is good in general.

A most unique and beautiful space!

This property is absolutely charming and adorable. It has everything you need, is really well kept and clean, it has tons of personality and blends the outdoor and indoor worlds together in a very unique and practical way. To quote my 18yr old daughter- "How can we not cook dinner in when we have this kitchen to work in"Ginette our host was very welcoming and responsive.

We loved our stay!

What a great experience! We loved the open living plan with its outdoor shower, the kitchen over looking the valley, the gardens, all the wild life, and I could go on and on! The location made it easy to experience many of the hiking trails and other activities we enjoyed. Host was awesome and we hope to return! Sooner rather than later!!!

Ginnette the property manager is incredibly attentive and kind, brought us food and garden items from the property. Very private, incredibly beautiful I can't believe this doesn't cost more - the pictures don't do it justice. Ideal location in Dominica near all the coolest things to do and central.

We liked the place. Open. Well situated, close to everything we wanted to do. Nice view. I had a misunderstanding with my car rental company and Ginette put a lot of effort in finding a new car for us. Thanks a lot!

Wonderful Cabin

We loved our stay at the Sizo Cottage. The cottage is near the main road in the Roseau Valley, but it is also secluded and feels remote. The kitchen wide open to the rainforest valley is just a peaceful and harmonious way of living. We had everything we needed, cooked dinner every evening, had our breakfast in the morning, and went off exploring. Middleham Falls, Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge, Fresh Water Lake, all are nearby and convenient, as is Roseau. 10 our of 10, easy.

Hidden gem

The cottage is well designed and perfect for indoor outdoor living. The rooms and living areas are well maintained and equipped. The best part is that it is nestled in a beautiful garden with beautiful views. We enjoyed an occasional rain, never ending bird songs, sounds of the rainforest, and morning rainbows! This place is probably the best place on the island, loved it. The location is amazing, close to the city and activities! Great work by the owners!

One with Nature

If you enjoy the outdoors, you will LOVE this cottage!! We wanted to experience Dominica and all its beauty and this property provided us more than we could have ever imagined. We woke up each morning to stunning views of the mountains and had coffee in the outdoor kitchen/living area. The location was also ideal to the local attractions and the city of Roseau. Ginette and her daughter Ari checked in daily to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the island. It was a dream come true for us.

Lush, rustic comfort

Wonderfully lushly set property very convenient to city Roseau on one hand and all of the delights of the Roseau Valley on the other. Setting is excellent, with parking and cottages in a gated area, the valley views from the open-air kitchen and lounge (Sizo cottage) are magnificent, and the host is kind and very helpful with all arrangements. Tolerance for mosquitoes will be required, but the ceiling fans in the place help a lot, and this is true for nearly everywhere in Dominica! Did not bother us overly. Great base to explore all the Roseau Valley area has to offer, and not a bad drive to the southwest (eg Champagne Beach) nor central area with Emerald Pool. Hot sulphur pools are 10 minutes' drive and just the ticket for weary travellers. (Tolerance for challenging road conditions required for anywhere in the Roseau Valley.) Highly recommend.

Wonderful jungle location

Ginette was wonderful on every step of the process. Once booked she communicated and gave us great advice, including about a rental car. We ran into an issue with a cancelled flight and Ginette came up and brought us down to the cottage. It was better than we imagined, it was in a perfect location in the jungle on the mountain. The flowers around the cottage were spectacular as well as a variety of fruits. The cottage itself is open air and allowed the cool mountain air to blow through and perfect with the ceiling fans. The bed was very comfortable allowing for the perfect night's sleep with the sounds of night lulling us to sleep. The kitchen was fully functional allowing coffee and breakfast and be able to cook a full dinner each night as we watched the sun set over the mountains. Ginette and Fred, the caretaker, took great care of us and checked in daily that all our needs were being met. Though we were there to disconnect, it was great to have Internet access to share pictures with our friends and family. We had a lovely time and thanks to Fred and Ginette!!

Treehouse in the rainforest

Experience nature living in an open air cottage in the rainforest. We enjoyed our time here. But we knew what to expect and it may not be for everyone. The kitchen is small, but adequate and we cooked most dinners here and packed lunches for day hikes. The bed was comfortable and we are grateful for the bug net canopy over the bed. The indoor shower had warm water and water pressure was good.We enjoyed watching a variety of birds feeding on the banana plant flower at one of the openings. Also watching the lizards catch bugs at night. Keep in mind, this is open air. The birds fly right over to the counter begging as soon as you sit down and critters are in the kitchen at night searching. Little droppings are left behind on the counters and seating and it’s a rainforest, so everything seems just a tad moist. There are bugs. We kept our bags zipped closed and under bug nets when not using them.I feel the pictures in the listing were more from the other cottage and looked nicer, but we were satisfied.Location is great. The cottage is very close to Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge and the Boiling Lake hike. Ginette was wonderful and connected us with Dr. Birdy for a day of birdwatching as well as helped with other questions. Parking was easy and so was check-in.If you have questions, make sure you just ask Ginette, she is super helpful with everything.

Retreat into Nature

First, understand Dominica- it's NOT the Dominican Republic. This is a nature/natural experience. If you are not a nature lover, if you do not like rugged natural environments, this is probably not your Island. If Dominica sounds like your island, in this cottage you will feel like you're living in a treehouse. Birds will visit you, and probably raid your fruit but all you have to do is listen to host Ginette and you will know exactly how to share (and not share) your goodies with the charming little birds who literally come through the cottage. I love birds so this was a treat for me. Fruit trees all around, lush and tropical surroundings. I mentioned a couple activities I was interested in and Ginette really went into action and set me up with activities that were perfect. Even just as important was that I just wanted to breathe in nature, take in the views and have some quiet alone time, and I had that too. Don't miss a massage. Ginette is a wonderful massage therapist. I normally get massages at home but this is a real treat. Hiking: come equipped. I'm from the US and what the Domincans call an easy hike will probably involve loose gravel stones, creek fording, (and the water will rise quickly in the rain) rock scrambling etc. For what we in the US call an easy hike, there is a walkway along the ocean in town, and it is smoothly paved. Having a cook come in to the cabin and prepare meals was also a great option, and the food was delicious. In just 6 days there I felt healthier and less stressed. It is really therapeutic! Lessons learned: for my next trip I will bring binoculars for staring into the views from the cottage, hiking boots and one of those plastic rain ponchos that lines in a small pouch. Size Cottage did not disappoint!

La Dominique est un voyage extraordinaire : snorkelling, trek dans la jungle et accueil extra.

Maison en bois dans la jungle de la Dominique, avec ses bruits extraordinaires, très proche de Roseau. Nous y avons passé de superbes vacances : trek, snorkelling. Avec des habitants très accueillants et des hôtes qui nous ont bien aidés. A faire absolument.

Sizo Cottage has two large rooms with comfortable queen sized beds, one comfortable sitting area with two sofa beds sleeping additional persons, a nice neat well equipped kitchen, spacious balcony, picture perfect views of nature and the mountains & valley, internet, very lush manicured gardens.
It is ideally located, approx. 10 mins from the capital, it has lovely cool mountain breezes, it is near to famous and wonderful hot and sulfur springs and waterfalls. There is ample parking.
The grounds and garden is filled with fruits for your enjoyment and there is a massage therapist on site to cater to your relaxing and rejuvenating requirements.
