Host Ben was very quick to respond to my questions. The property was beautiful, full of color in the fall. Off the beaten path so very quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and bathroom amenities were appreciated. It has lots of games and puzzles to keep you occupied. I 100% recommend this property.

Beautiful property and great views! Maine cabin experience. Very well stocked. Had everything we needed super quiet location and close to hiking trails and Acadia. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family had the best time at Caleb’s Cottage. The house and property was even more beautiful in person. The house had everything we needed, and was exceptionally clean. Every morning we got to watch seals and have coffee on the deck which was so amazing. Thank you, Ben, for making our annual family vacation one for the books!

This beautiful house was welcoming, well-equipped, incredibly clean, and located in an absolutely stunning spot on the "quiet side" of MDI. We enjoyed our morning coffee out on the porch, overlooking the beautiful water and watching eagles fly overhead. The spacious layout and 2 full bathrooms allowed us to have ample personal space while still providing a full living room and big kitchen table for games, meals, reminiscing and football. We walked from the house to the Flying Mountain trailhead, getting some incredible views of Somes Sound and the outlying waters.The host was both responsive and helpful in answering our questions, and we appreciated all of the shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, fishing poles, books and children's toys that were provided. Thank you to the owners for such a lovely hidden gem ... we can't wait to return!

Everything was in perfect order, spotless, and extremely comfortable. The area is beautiful and close to Acadia with a trail within walking distance. The harbor, restaurants and shops are 10 minutes from the house. Ben (the host) directions to the house, and recommendations to all activities were excellent. I would love to stay again if I'm ever in this area of Maine.

Beautiful and Relaxing

I absolutely loved our stay at Caleb’s Cottage! The location was perfect for our trip. The house and surrounding area were beautiful. I loved sitting on the porch relaxing as the sun went down. Water pressure was fantastic and the showers were nice and hot. The host was super responsive. I would highly recommend this place!

Wonderful Week in Southwest Harbor

This was our 2nd time visiting Caleb's Cottage and the 2nd time that our family loved out stay. Our sons *(7 & 2) loved having access to the water using the dock and kayak's that we had rented. The house is very comfortable and has allowed our family to create wonderful memories. Being so close to Flying Mountain, the Causeway Club and the new Mini Golf course made the week even better.

Great Stay

Our family really enjoyed staying at Caleb's Cottage. It was comfortable, spacious, and had all the comforts of home. The view from the lovely front porch is beautiful and we loved drinking our coffee in the morning and gathering there to relax after our day exploring Acadia National Park. As seniors we were able to walk from the cottage to "Flying Mountain" where we hiked to the top and back. This property is only about a 20-minute drive to Bar Harbor and other scenic spots in Acadia National Park. We had a great stay!

Beautiful location, beautiful cottage

This was our first visit to Caleb's Cottage and we were so thrilled to pull up and see the house we had hoped for was really ours for a few days! The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well furnished as was the laundry room. Sitting on the porch with a mug of coffee was the best! So close to Acadia- some trails within walking distance. We love to come back.

Wonderful place for a getaway

Everything was great. Such a warm and homey feel. The only downside is the front steps are very slippery in the morning. Warn others to be careful as I slipped and fell down the steps

A perfect getaway

Peaceful and Perfect GetawayWe had a wonderful stay at Caleb’s Cottage in Southwest Harbor. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing week. It was the perfect place to come back to after long days of hiking and biking in Acadia.We enjoyed cooking big breakfasts, packing lunches for the trail, and spending quiet evenings playing games or relaxing by the dock. Watching the jellyfish drift by in the peaceful harbor was an unexpected highlight.Ben was a great host, and we’d happily recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet retreat with easy access to outdoor adventures.

Third Visit to Caleb's Cottage

This is our 3rd time staying here. Our family loves it! Looking out at the cove is so beautiful and peaceful. We hike, we rent a kayak for the week, we go to Echo Lake, we enjoy dinner at the Little Fern restaurant at the Clairmont Hotel. We played 9 holes of golf this year at the club down the street. Lots of hiking within walking distance from the cottage. The cottage is very clean and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The pictures are exactly how the cottage looks - beautiful. Ben is great and responsive.

Excellent Place to Stay

The cottage was very well stocked- all the comforts of home. Southwest Harbor is a great, quiet area, but with 5-6 very good reasonably priced restaurants and excellent local seafood, including Beal's Lobster Pier- a must for lobster lovers. Practically walk to Flying Mountain in Acadia National Park, and a great hike! Also great lake swimming at Echo Lake (in Acadia). Only negatives- Bar Harbor is a solid 25 minute drive each way (this was July, with some traffic), the house had a great cabin type feel, lots of knotty pine, but it did creak quite a bit when you walked around. Otherwise, a million dollar view of the cove and a great experience!

Thank you for the review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Bar Harbor does get quite crowded in the Summer which is one reason why many people prefer to stay on the "Quietside" to get away from the crowds. As far as the creaks, we are aware of some of the floor boards in the upstairs hall that are the cause and will be looking to fix it this off season. Thanks again for choosing Caleb's Cottage!
