Our little 2 bedroom/1 bath bungalow has Central Heat/AC along with a fully stocked kitchen and everything needed for a comfortable stay.

We have a sunroom to enjoy your coffee and watch the birds and to relax. A large 60" Smart TV along with high speed WiFi for your streaming entertainment. The dining room has a table and chairs for 4. We supply all needed linens, an initial supply of toilet paper, paper towels as well as soaps and shampoos - just bring your toothbrush!

Yes we are pet friendly with hardwood floors - clean up is a breeze! We have a charcoal grill for cooking your own great meals!

This home is conveniently located right in the heart of Norfolk - we are close to interstates, the Chesapeake Bay beaches, the zoo, Old Dominion University, the naval bases and more!

We have a fully enclosed backyard for your little ones to run and play. We have allowed the backyard to grow bamboo as a way of crating a "private oasis" in the city. It's our own little jungle!

This home is conveniently located right in the heart of Norfolk - we are close to the Chesapeake Bay beaches (1/2 a mile to the beach), the zoo, Old Dominion University, interstates, the naval bases and more!

** PLEASE PAY ATTENTION - this unit is for family units ONLY! No Parties are allowed or tolerated. We live next door to this unit and will immediately cancel and evict anything resembling a party - No "Get Togethers" - No "Inviting a few friends" - No "Cookouts" - No "friends stopping by for a visit" - No "Wakes" - No "Funerals" - No "Birthday Parties"!!!!

All cancellations like this will include forfeiture of all payments and security deposits - NO EXCEPTIONS! **

Nice, pet-friendly home in an older quiet neighborhood. The house has some of the idiosyncrasies you'd expect from a 80 year old property, but also the mature lived-in charm that goes with it. It's furnished with all the basic creature comforts. Check in/out was simple and painless. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay.

Norfolk visit

Not a very impressive property. Not the best I've stayed at, not the worst either. Picked because it was close to the Navy base and pet friendly. No amenities, no batteries in the tv remote or either wall clock.

Great Property, Quiet Neighborhood

This was an amazing property for a quick getaway for some dissertation writing. The sun room was just right for early morning writing and reading. I certainly plan to rebook in the near future. Kathleen and George are super responsive on the to messages!

Don’t Take A Chance….The Bad Reviews are Accurate…Not Worth the Money

House was dirty when we arrived and definitely not sanitized. The floor was filthy and the lamps had spiderwebs and dust accumulated in the shades. There are Gigantic Cockroaches on the ceiling, walls, and floors. All of the doors are in poor condition - the front and back doors are most concerning. They are very difficult to lock and keep house secure. You have to slam the doors shut to get them to lock. The HVAC vent in the hallway is horrendous. I expect that is the source of the cockroaches and probably other pests and creatures. The blinds are non-functional and have missing slats, making it difficult to close and maintain privacy. The backyard is a jungle of weeds and wild bushes, not bamboo. There is a motion detector light, but it was non-functional. Also, one of windows had hole in it. It wasn’t safe at all for our small dog to go out there. The gate was broken and even though I put it back in place several times, every time we returned to the house the gate was always positioned differently. There is an animal(s) in the attic - we heard walking above us. Someone tried to break into back door in middle of night when we were sleeping - we scared away when we turned all of the lights on and I yelled that I was going to call police. We decided we had enough and left a day early. I reached out to owner to do right thing, but she doesn’t care. She seems to only like being able to blame the renters for the issues and believe me the renters aren’t the problem. Someone will be successful breaking in eventually and I pray no renter is harmed. So much for a relaxing and safe mini-vacation. I noticed the owner left a response on a negative review about a dishonest guest….in actuality, it’s a very DISHONEST PROPERTY OWNER.

This very odd guest saw boogeymen at every turn! It was almost hilarious! We are located in a very safe neighborhood and are very proud of our little Bungalow. We provide everything needed to enjoy the nearby Chesapeake Bay Beaches. Unfortunately for this challenged guest, we do not refund for a raccoon in the backyard. We actually spent time on the phone with the police dept. as we take these type of reports very seriously. Our guest told us about an intruder and told us that they had to call the police. As there was no report, we simply recognized that this guest was not quite stable and made up the entire story! No police report. When confronted with her lies, she then changed the story to "I almost called the police". We did not really know what to do with this guest, but we did ask her to leave the property, offering to refund any unused time. Again, we are proud to offer our little home to anyone needing a nice quiet relaxing time in a nice quiet neighborhood. Rest assured that nothing in this review is true.

Working Vacation

This home was exactly what we needed. Wifi so we could work during the day and a 5 minute drive to the beach and pets were welcome. House was clean.

Quick weekend away

Wasn’t quite what we were expecting, but served it purpose. Noticed the trash was overflowing from the outside garbage bins as soon we we pulled in the driveway. Walked in the front door initially and the house immediately smelled like someone was smoking in there minutes before. The smell faded as the weekend went on, but the property said no smoking. Found ants coming in through multiple windows in the living room. Notified the host about the trash and ants and quickly responded and came the next day with ant spray and emptied the garbage cans so we could throw away our trash as well. The backyard gate wasn’t on the hinges, so had to prop up and watch the dogs every time we let them out. And the backyard trees and shrubs were very overgrown and the dogs would wonder back through them. The property did have a nice tv and was functional otherwise. Just minutes from the highway which was very convenient for driving all over for the weekend we were there. Just wasn’t quite as clean and tidy as we were expecting. Thank you to the hosts for being responsive and letting us stay at this property.

Dirty!!!

Spider webs everywhere!! roaches in the kitchen!! roaches in the bathroom!! Broken blinds! overgrown grass!!

Martha we are so sorry that the grass had grown. Our lawn care company could not cut due to the heavy rains. Please come back again as all of these issues have been remedied.

Friends trip

Check in was easy. The house was simple, but cute. Outdated. Definitely could use an update. Initially it appeared the house was clean. Looked surface clean anyway and smelled good. As we got settled in we found dog hair all over. Not ok with that as I’m allergic to many animals. Communication was poor. We had it written in wrong for our departure date and rather than communicating with us and we would have happily left, she didn’t communicate about it until we had already checked out. So we paid an extra day stay then. Our fault for writing down wrong, but communication is key to good business. We didn’t have any problem paying the extra day as we were very apologetic for the mistake, but would have preferred a more friendly communication. Good location to the beach and surrounding areas.

Thank you Monica, as you made your own reservation, I don't think it is too much to ask that you know when to check out. Our cleaners were waiting for your departure. It is not courteous to disrespect the cleaners or the host with you silly "misunderstanding" of your own reservation. If you are allergic to animals why would you stay in a pet friendly home?? This is just a vindictive review from guest unable/unwilling to follow simple rules and normal business practices. All the best.

This guest had an unauthorized party; the police were called by a neighbor, and the neighbor video-taped at least 75 vehicles parked along the street! We kept her security deposit and charged an additional $300 fee. A very dishonest guest.

Old and a outdated

Everything was very outdated. Electrical problems in kitchen and bedrooms. Rented with kitchen for purpose of cooking while there..... that was a mistake.

Why would you have not informed us of such issues? We have been there and found nothing wrong?? Of course we would correct any electrical issues. Stove/Oven work perfectly; Microwave and coffee maker work perfectly; refrigerator works perfectly. We are very confused about this review.

Not as described

The property was not as described and we left immediately. We found it unsanitary, ants everywhere, cat in the ventilation duct work, dirty diaper left behind, old food still on floor. There is no fenced in back yard and it was a jungle. I wouldn't let my dog back there let alone small children. Overall it was run down and in disrepair.

This guest thought the house was at the beach. It is not, the listing says exactly where it is. It is close, but still about 3/4 of a mile from the beaches of the Bay. Unfortunately I do not refund due scheduling changes or misunderstanding the description of the property. We strive to be very accurate in our description. This is the review of a guest who was refused a refund.

Why leave a review as the guest did not stay. He called to inform us that his wife was sick and asked us to cancel and refund in full. As we do have a policy in place for this, we could not accommodate his request - and for this a one star review??
