Beautiful private "SUPER CLEAN" apartment located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills called "Sunset Surf Shack". This is a private studio apartment attached to the back of our house that has a separate door & private access to the apartment through a private stair entry with a key code door lock.

You can walk directly across the street to the sound access gazebo where you can see the sunset & launch our kayaks. The bike path is directly in front of our home which takes you to the Wright Brothers Memorial and many local restaurants & venues. The beach is just across the street (.5 miles)with FREE parking at ALL beach accesses. Our local boat ramp is a few blocks away w/free parking & boat launch. Kill Devil Hills is located between all the amazing attractions in the Outerbanks. We are centrally located between 4 of the most amazing lighthouses on the Outerbanks. The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse,
Bodie Island Lighthouse, Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse all with in driving distances. You can also drive to Hatteras and take the Ocracoke Ferry for free for the day.

We have a separate A/C and heater unit for you to control the temperature.
We provide a freshly made queen size bed & wash our comforters after each guests leaves. We also have a queen size couch bed that has an extra mattress pad for comfort. Soft fluffy towels are provided & we wash our bath mats each check in as well.
A small cooler & ice packs are provided as well as beach towels. We have 2 awesome Electra beach cruisers & one has a basket & a men's bike. The beach is a half mile across the street.
Food Lion & Publix is right down the street behind our house plus many awesome restaurants within biking distance.
We have a 5* bathroom with a beautiful blue waterfall sink and a lovely large sized shower with beautiful glass doors. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner is provided.

The host was very accommodating and helpful. The space is attached to their home but never once did they make it awkward. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. It’s a great space for a couples quiet getaway.The only thing that would have made things more comfortable would be more pillows. In all, it was a nice stay. We look forward to visiting the area again but will likely use one of our hosts other places.

Exceptional gem of a place with an equally wonderful host. The space was private, safe, beautiful and clean, equipped with a myriad of additional amenities that were well appreciated. The location was superb; we were a 5-10 minute drive from most everything, including the beach. I can't say enough good things about this property and its owner, and we will absolutely be back in the future for our return to OBX. Thank you again so much for an unforgettably wonderful experience!

Super clean and comfortable. Have to point out the coffee mugs. Not the tiny stick your pinky out tea cups. Massive coffee lover mugs you can fill and enjoy on the back patio deck. Enjoy the breeze and watch the squirrels collect their breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Don’t miss the sunsets on the sound across the street from the gazebo!

Great property for our short getaway! Had everything we needed! Centrally located to some of our favorite spots. Paved walkway right across the street from the house was great for daily walks. Beautiful sound views nearby. Bed was comfy. Clean space. Very soundproof so barely heard any outside noise. Nice shower! Plenty of towels and washcloths and other necessities. Host was super quick responding to messages and had clear instructions and helpful tips. We’ll be back!

Very clean with a gorgeous remodeled big bathroom. Somehow, I didn’t realize it was a studio. Amber was an excellent communicator responded promptly at all times. Both Amber and Brett made solid recommendations about things to do n the area and restaurants. It was a quiet relaxing area with beautiful sunsets.

We stayed for three nights and it was perfect. Close to the beach and shops/attractions. We checked in early and got beach time in every day. Amber and Brett were helpful in their tips and tricks for the area. The space is small but for our short stay it worked well. I appreciated the little things - like the first aid kit in the bathroom because my son got rope burn from his boogie boarding adventures. Thanks for a great vacation!

Pretty Perfect

The place is small but so well organized. The hosts have thought of about everything you could need and were quick to respond. Very clean! Centrally located on the banks so it is easy to travel to both ends. Close beach access also. Loved the bike path and bay directly in front of the house. Access to cruiser bikes was fun. Thanks!

PERFECT!!!

The hosts were fantastic, lots of tips for out of towners, lots of things that we could do. The best advice we received was the kayak trip to freshly steamed shrimp! A nice afternoon adventure! We loved it and would stay again! :)

Quick get away

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and we enjoyed ourselves. The apartment was very clean and was just like the listing. Even though it was off season, we had fun and enjoyed the sunset that was right across from the apartment. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean and cozy getaway!

We came in the winter and the place was very clean and the perfect size for a couple. The TV swivels so you can watch it in bed and that was an unexpected plus. We’d definitely stay here again! Amazing hosts!
