Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

It couldn't be anymore VERMONT!!!

A wonderful Log cabin that you can feel at home the moment you enter the driveway. It is away from it all and you have plenty of space inside and out to relax and reload your energy. Tucked away in the woods of Vermont, completely private and yet close to everything. Only minutes outside of Stowe. Indoors you can feel the warmth, charm, and uniqueness of Vermont. And a fire in the woodstove after a day outside will add to the experience of a life time.

The bedrooms are cozy and roomy and there is nothing better than to soak in a big old-fashioned clawfoot tub, but there is also a shower in the other bathroom for your convenience. One thing we know for sure, you will feel right at home!

The snowmobile trail starts right out the back door and for the cross country skiers we have the catamount trail right out the front door which runs down to Stowe and up towards Craftsbury for miles on end. But every season has its charm and we will have a list of beautiful sites ready for you which sometimes are only known to locals. Waterfalls and Swimming holes are all around.

Of course we also welcome your pets and the backyard is fully fenced in so they can enjoy fun without a leash.

We will receive you with a warm home and heart!

Great retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Claudias cabin. Close enough to Stowe for our tournament, but off the beaten path- we brought our dog and loved the fenced in back yard and our morning woods walks! Would highly recommend!

Charming cabin in the woods!

  • 4 of 5

A charming, rustic cabin in the woods of Vermont. This location is close to Stowe Mountain outside of the town proper so that it’s your own private getaway from it all! The cozy charm of the cabin is enhanced by Claudia’s caring hostessing. She is such an animal lover that she took time to check on our dog the first day we were on the mountain to make sure she was adjusting okay! We loved having a wood stove keeping us toasty warm and the amenities suited us perfectly—especially the claw-foot tub. When you need for quiet relaxation, this is your place!

Dog Family’s Dream Getaway Cabin - Rustic & Cozy!

  • 5 of 5

Our first stay at Claudia’s cabins was in February 2008 and we have come back two to three times every year for 10 years! Claudia is welcoming, friendly and super accommodating. Our two Labs are made to feel right at home - these are true dog friendly cabins and the dogs are free to enjoy them with no requirements to be crated or taken out of the cabin when the humans want to go out for a bit. Of course, this applies to well behaved dogs and anyone with an anxious dog would want to respect the cabin and make suitable arrangements.

We have stayed in all of the cabins and they are cozy with many homey touches and all of the essentials for preparing meals. In “our” cabin, we love the 1st floor king bed so our dogs can sleep close by even when they get older. On nice mornings, we sit on the front or back porch and enjoy coffee and watch a variety of birds, some that we don’t see at home. There is always plenty of wood ready for the wood stove and we love to keep a fire going and read the day away if it happens to be too rainy or cold to get out for a hike or snow shoe. Plenty of towels, bed linens and even nice fleece throws on the large comfortable sectional sofa and a handy washer and dryer if you stay long enough to need them. A little TV for those who care about that but we never turn it on and excellent WiFi that is way better than our service at home.

We drive quite a distance from western NY so we always try to stay for at least a week and longer if we can work it out. There is so much to see and do within short drives of the cabin in every direction that we are still making new discoveries and we have so many favorite walking and picnic destinations that we have to choose the ones to revisit on every trip. The natural areas offer breathtaking beauty and often we spend a few hours on a trail and never see another person.

While there are many, many restaurants, we prefer to make most of our meals at the cabin. The provisions at nearby Co-ops, and farmers markets are terrific and there’s are several specialty and full grocery stores just a quick drive away too. For anyone who enjoys specialty shops, Stowe will be delightful and there are little book stores and artists galleries in many of the nearby villages too. Dog parties at Dog Mountain in St. Johnsbury are a lot of fun for dogs and people and we often make the 1 1/2 hour trip.

We love our time at Claudia’s and count down the days between visits!!!

A lovely escape

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful, peaceful and rejuvenating stay at Claudia's cabin; the cabin was clean & tidy, very comfy and spacious, and the setting is private and quiet. The location is close to many amenities and tourist attractions, yet far enough away, that you can enjoy the beauty & healing of nature.

I can't recommend Claudia's Cabins strongly enough!

Wonderful, private, cozy, FANTASTIC host

  • 5 of 5

I love this place! It is private but only about 10 minutes from downtown Stowe so we were able to easily get to the restaurants and shops. Cabin is charming, very cozy, well stocked kitchen, well tended, comfortable bed. Quiet and lovely setting. Claudia was absolutely the best hostess,, she was very informative about the best local places to go including a stunning nearby waterfall and a great pizza place. She even brought us herbs and apples from her gardens and let us try the homemade chocolate she just made :) My favorite place I have stayed in Vermont thus far. THANK YOU!!!! (we will be back ;)

A Magical Place! We can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend, our 2 dogs and myself stayed at Claudia's cabin now for the third time and we love it more each time. The cabin is clean and so cozy and there are always staples in the fridge and on the shelves. The beds are comfortable and our dogs are more than welcome. The fenced in yard is perfect to let them play safely and we don't have to worry about them taking off.

Nothing beats a book in the hammock on the porch and morning coffee on the deck while Buster and Joey are getting rid of their energy.

It is very close to Stowe and Morrisville but we rarely leave the property once we are arrive.

We highly recommend this place and are sad to leave each time, but we know we will return again soon!
