This delightful 3-bedroom,2-bathroom holiday home is perfect for families seeking to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and activities Twizel has to offer. The home features a spacious, sun-filled layout with an open-plan kitchen & living area that flows effortlessly onto a covered patio, complete with an outdoor fireplace & BBQ. The house is fully fenced and provides plenty of space for adults to unwind & children to play. Plenty of off-street parking. An ideal retreat for a relaxing getaway.

The master bedroom is located off the kitchen with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe.
Bedrooms 2 & 3 are located at the other end of the house and have access to a large bathroom with a shower, bath and toilet.

Twizel is a town in the Mackenzie Basin, part of the Mackenzie District of the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. Its residential population is 1,500 but in summer the population more than triples. Twizel was built in 1968 as a greenfields project to service the Upper Waitaki Hydroelectricity Scheme and was intended to be removed once the project had been completed. However, in 1983 its residents successfully fought to save the town. At the height of the project in the 1970s, the population peaked at around 6,000. Twizel is now a service and tourist town for visitors. Nearby Lake Ruataniwha supports sailing, water skiing and prominent rowing events, such as the Maadi Cup, while the Ohau Skifield and the Round Hill Ski Area attract winter tourists. Other surrounding lakes, such as Lake Benmore provide warm and safe boating conditions for all of your summer activities. The Alps to Ocean Cycleway is the newest and hugely popular drawcard of tourism in the Mackenzie. Twizel is located between the Mt Cook and Ohau sections of the trail and is the perfect spot to pause and enjoy the scenery!

Relaxing Retreat

We had a lovely stay in Twizel. There was plenty of room for our group and the location was good for visiting Mt Cook and town. The kitchen was well-stocked and we enjoyed the outdoor fireplace.

Lovely modern home in Twizel

We had a lovely stay in this well-designed home. It was spacious and warm, with a great lounge for hanging out in. There are lovely views in all directions. Would definitely stay here again.

This property was absolutely beautiful. We were in Twizel so we could visit mount cook. And this accommodation had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable and gave us all plenty of room to relax.

Lovely getaway

We loved staying at this property. The home was exactly like the pictures and the fireplace was all laid out ready to light. Water pressure in the ensuite was amazing, enough stuff in the kitchen that we could make meals if we wanted and located in a prime location for accessing surrounding activities. We would definitely stay again if we revisit the area.

Very nice Twizel house!

We had a great stay in this Twizel property! Easy check-in, check-out, great for cooking meals, open floor plan with a very nice outdoor patio and a wonderful shower! Only 45 minutes or so from Aoraki/ Mt Cook and great fresh salmon very nearby. Would love to return!

Very comfortable, exceeded expectations

This home was even nicer than I expected based on the photos. Beds were super comfortable, bathrooms were beautiful, kitchen was well-stocked, and there was plenty of living room seating for our family of four. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Our laundry dried so fast out on the clothesline! Highly recommended!

Our Twizel tramping base

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 9 Temple Drive. It's a modern, upmarket home that was immaculately presented, and the large wood burner and a plentiful supply of bone dry firewood ensured we were always nice and warm. It was a perfect base for tramping in the Mt Cook, Ohau and Benmore areas.

Wonderful Twizel house for adults and children alike

This new house was absolutely wonderful! We were a couple and a family of 4 (2 children aged under 12), so the house layout was perfect. It was nice to have the ensuite in the main bedroom, and the layout was perfect that the family had a bathroom in between their bedrooms. The outdoor and indoor fireplaces were wonderful to have, and the buck was a nice touch too. It was nice to have the laundry room in case we needed it. The only feedback would be to have a few more supplies (e.g., paper towels, cling wrap, etc), but the house itself was really great. It was in a quiet location which was nice. One day it rained all day, which was fine by us as we got to enjoy the house and even toasted some marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace. Would highly recommend this place for families and friends. :)

Beautiful holiday house
