Family get together in the desert

Great place for 3 adult couples and 2 little boys. Made some meals, explored Anza Borrego and Borrego Springs.

Awesome Location

Loved the location with the mountains, (sheep payed a visit) and right on the golf course!!! The house has a great layout, but the kitchen appliances, mainly the stove and oven, are rather dated as well as the pots and pans. Needs a bit sprucing up!!

Spacious home with lovely living room, comfortable beds and a great view. Quiet neighborhood and convenient location make this a good choice for visiting Borego Springs.

Spacious convenient home

Very comfortable house. Worked well for 2 couples and single person. Very slow and inconsistent WiFi and weak cell service was the only problem

The house is at the end of a quiet street, so quite peaceful. Well-stocked kitchen, and nice bathrooms. Nice natural lighting.Very responsive and kind host.Light comes into the bedrooms as soon as the sun rises. Bring something to cover your eyes if you want to sleep later into the morning!

Outdated Not So Clean Place

We found old brown stains on pillowcases, and sheets. It appears to be dried blood. Sheets & pillowcases are almost see-through. Dining room, some bedroom, and other lights don't work. Pool was dirty; I texted owner about pool, but he never responded. Hot water in showers was gone after 3-4 min. House has potential, but owners appear too cheap to fix it up. There are much better places to stay.

Ladies trip

This house was big enough for our 4 ladies trip. Most of the house was quite nice. Big rooms and lots of room for everyone to spread out. BEWAREā€¦The fourth ā€œbedroomā€ is not a room but a smelly porch with a daybed. Couldnā€™t enjoy the patio or view because the yard was a mess. They had some recent storms but they could have picked the patio before we got there.

Peaceful getaway

Borrego Springs was beautiful. The house is in an extremely quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed watching the golfers go by. There are some great restaurants in town, but I would suggest getting groceries before arriving to town. I would have given this a 5 star rating but there were a couple issues. The host was very responsive to these issues. There is no washer or dryer for guests to use and there was also no laundromat in the town.

It was ok...

Just a very average stay. Surfaces and linens were clean. Water filter in fridge had light on, needed to be changed. AC/furnace control panels had lights on specifying filter change needed. Towel rods and hooks were loose and/or falling off in the bathrooms. We aren't pool people so I can't review that, although it appeared clean and maintained. Nothing to actually ruin our stay, just little things here and there that could have been better to earn a 5 star review.

Disappointed

The property was not clean. Comforters old and stained, pillows were also stained heavily. It felt creepy sleeping in the beds after I saw that. We found a cockroach in the kitchen. The bonus room had a very heavy mildew smell.A through-wall vent to the hall in the third bedroom destroyed any chance of audio privacy there. The trellis in the backyard is rotting badly and some members were hanging by one end, very unsightly. Lots of unsightly junk around the house too. It's a good location but it needs some work.

Peaceful getaway.

The house was in an extremely quiet and peaceful location. I donā€™t think we even heard neighbors the entire time. Is was fun to watch the golfers go by. There was plenty of room for our small group. I would have given this a 5 star rating except that the pool didnā€™t get cleaned until the day before we departed. Also the fact that no washer or dryer were available for our use. There is NO laundromat in town to use as well. Borrego Springs is a town with beautiful surroundings. There are some great restaurants, but I would recommend getting groceries before arriving.

Great location

Our six day stay was very pleasant. We were familiar with the area and the location of the property so many of our expectations were fulfilled. This is a very good quiet and private location bordering a country club golf course. This is a good property for a family gathering or for a group of 3-4 or more. The kitchen is well equipped but some basic staples: salt, sugar, etc. were not at hand. While the listing did not note laundry facilities, a washer/dryer would be a basic expectation for a property of this size and there was none. The landscaping has been neglected in the front yard so the "curb appeal" of the property was somewhat dismal. While a barbeque grill was noted it is very small and probably not adequate for what most would expect. The owner was very responsive when needed.

Great place!

Had a blast! Kids loved it so did my dad. Everything was just like the property manager said. Check in was easy. There were some dead bugs my son has to sweep up when they got there but it was hot as it was outside, we seemed to see crickets and such pop up at night. So even if they cleaned the day before, it's hard to say there wouldn't be dead bugs to clean up. We saw 3 big horn sheep, a road runner, and a coyote on the golf course behind the house. Fun to watch. The flood light is really sensitive. It would be nice to be able to turn that less sensitive at like 2-4am for peak star gazing times. Big bath tubs, but we didn't use them. The pool was perfect. Overall great.

Great location but needs some TLC

The location and layout of this property suited our party perfectly - close proximity to great hikes, beautiful views, roomy accommodations. Nothing is perfect, however, and I'd highlight 2 items for improvement. 1. the motion sensor guided camera with bright LED lights focused on the pool out back seemed rather invasive (do we need footage of our pool use archived?) and the lights were so bright and sensitive to movement that they flashed on and off constantly with the slightest wind. We were unable to star gaze out back at night, and in fact, they woke me up several times from inside the house. 2. Cleanliness - I'll leave the details out, but the kitchen and bathrooms could have benefited from another round of cleaning. We were able to deal with it, however, and generally enjoyed our stay.

Spacious house needs TLC

Our stay at the house was pleasant . The house is spacious but have sone flaws . Although listed as a 4 bedroom house, the forth bedroom is an addition that almost feels like itā€™s outside the house . I we had expected to use it we would not have been comfortable sleeping on the space. The other 3 bedrooms and bathrooms were large and we accommodated just fine without the use of the extra room. Bedrooms and bathrooms were cleaned and ready for use. The kitchen drawers were messy and there is a large amount of china, that makes the kitchen feel cluttered. We are travelers who love cooking and specially during the holidays the kitchen is a must. We were able to have a good thanksgiving but did rinse and washed every single utensil prior to use since the clutter made us a bit uncomfortable. I was aware of the possibility of finding bugs in the house since I read prior reviews and did encounter several bugs alive in the house that we took care of, just felt like there needs to be better control of the critters by fumigating often and closing some cracks. The pool area was dirty, and although weather wasnā€™t good for pool use , we would not have been able to use it in the state it was.

Amazing scenery

Overall experience was good. The scenery and neighborhood were amazing. Everyone was very friendly. The owner was attentive to our texts. The only issues we had were the cleanliness of the house which is not on the owner. Whomever did clean did a poor job. The bathroom shower still had hair in it from the previous tenant along with dead bugs on the floor, the garbage bins and recycling were totally full with no space for our visit, and the counter tops werenā€™t totally cleaned along with some smaller items that should have been picked up. The pool wasnā€™t cleaned when we arrived and had to wait till 3 pm the next day for it to be vacuumed out.

Pool-side Borrego springs retreat

We enjoyed our stay right next to the verdant De Anza golf course. Windows opened out to the breeze so didn't even need the A/C. One day was sunny and warm-just perfect to swimming in the pool. Saw bighorn sheep right over the fence and a coyote! Next day, strolled 1.5 miles over to the Serpent Sculpture on Borrego Springs Drive. Fantastic views!

Quiet and beautiful

The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful with the mountains almost close enough to touch. The golf course is immaculately maintained and the flat, open design makes it accessible for golfers of all skill levels. The house is quite large and the bathrooms are especially lovely. The property manager responds quickly and communicates well. The property is a quick drive to the state park and close to a couple,of very small grocery/ convenience stores as well as a few restaurants.

Wonderful

A desert fox sat on the patio looking at us. What a wonderful surprise. Mountain sheep coming down to the golf course every day and from the house youā€™re looking out at the fifth tee and this is where the sheep come. How wonderful. The house is nicely furnished and the owner is really helpful and kind. Itā€™s a place well worth renting. Will go there next year for sure.

Spacious home with beautiful views

The home is fantastic. It is right on the golf course. In the morning we were able to watch the big horn sheep walking on the course. We really enjoyed our stay. There are 2 master suites at either end of the home which is really nice. It also feels very spacious and open. The wood beams of the ceiling in the living room represent beautiful craftsmanship. The pictures show an old tube TV in the living room. This has been upgraded to a large flat screen and has satellite TV service. We really enjoyed our stay and would look to stay here again in the future if it is available.
