About this property

2BR Old Colorado City Dog Friendly!

Summary:
Are you a sucker for old-time charm? Then you’ll adore your stay in this 2-bed, 1-bath clapboard cottage in Colorado Springs’ historic district (“Old Colorado City”). 2 dogs and 4 humans are welcome to enjoy this darling home in a desirable, walkable neighborhood offering an array of character-rich restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, museums & more. In the shadow of the Rockies, you’re within easy reach of outdoor adventures galore, and just minutes from hip & happening Downtown.

The Space:
Snuggle into your own cozy cottage in Old Colorado City, a historic neighborhood replete with adorable homes from the 19th and early 20th centuries lined along sidewalks shaded by lovely mature trees.

Your home-away-from-home is a twee single-story clapboard bungalow with a dear little path leading from the sidewalk to its front door. There is also an alleyway that runs behind the row of homes, where you’ll find a driveway for two vehicles and a gate leading into your fully fenced back yard. This will likely be the way you’ll enter from day to day, so let’s begin here.

A completely private gravel yard is a nice space for kids and pets to let off steam and get fresh air, but the neighborhood is also pleasant for walking with a playground just two minutes away on foot (Thorndale Park).

A wooden deck with a grill and small dining table for two provides the opportunity for outdoor meals. A patio door leads from the deck into the living area and the spacious, open concept kitchen and dining space beyond.

If a hug was a piece of furniture, it would be the big, plump, curved sofa in the living area – the epitome of coziness. After a zestful day of sightseeing and wilderness adventures, kick off your shoes, sink in, and watch the wall-mounted TV.

In the kitchen/dining area, you’ll find a lovely table for 4 where you can share hearty breakfasts and unhurried dinners.

The kitchen is well-appointed for the culinary whiz among you. You’ll find plenty of cabinetry and counter space, including an island with 2 stools. (They’ll be more likely to help you do the chopping with a place to sit – and it’s a perfect spot for quick lunches and snacking.) You’ll have the use of a full-size French door refrigerator with an in-door ice dispenser and a full-size range, as well as a microwave, dishwasher, slow cooker, blender, toaster, coffee maker, chef’s knives, and cookware. Have a ball!

Also for your convenience, you’ll find a full-size washer and dryer. Pack light – you can do laundry!

Toward the front of the home, two pleasant bedrooms stand opposite one another, one with a queen and the other a full sized-bed, ceiling fan, and large closet. The nearby bathroom includes a combination tub/shower, and there’s storage for toiletries under the sink.

You’ll love the rustic original wood flooring throughout the home, and it might inspire you to wonder who walked those floorboards in the early days of the town. Ladies in ankle-length calico dresses and lace-up boots, perhaps? Maybe even ladies of a…shall we say, saucier nature? This part of town has a fascinating history!

Here’s something else you’ll really appreciate: hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.

This property is managed by a local vacation rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.

Great spot for a girls weekend
Great little house for a girls weekend away. Wonderful location, quiet street - close to Old Colorado City. One bed was very comfy, the other leaves a little to be desired. The living room furniture is different from the posting, could be more comfortable but not terrible. Overall I’d recommend this house for a quick stay.

Cute little cottage
Stayed with my parents and I loved the neighborhood and how close it was to things I wanted to be near. Close to nearby family and easy in and out. I drove a Tahoe and was able to park in the back. The house is cute and cozy. It was clean and had all the things one need to cook and be at home. I'm from TX and already knew that these houses don't have central air/heat. They had a portable unit in the living area. The bedrooms had ceiling fans (1 didn't work) but it was just fine. At night with the windows open, it helps cool the place. Better than staying in a hotel. You have privacy and a nice deck out back to sit and enjoy your time.
