Some cell phones will not work from the cottage but you will get reception if you walk/drive back towards the township. Enjoy the ambience of the local cafe.
The Kowhai river is close by. You can enjoy rafting on the Rangitata, bird watching, fishing, swimming and all outdoor pursuits close by. Geraldine only 20 mins away. Enjoy the Tui, Wood pigeons and Bellbirds whilst having a drink on the covered verandah. The serenity is amazing!
