This charming mountain cottage sits smack-dab in the middle of the trendy town of Davis, West Virginia. It is a short walk to pizza at Sirianni’s, a burrito at Hellbenders and a crisp IPA at Stumptown Ales~. Serious mountain bikers will absolutely love the close proximity to Blackwater Bikes and the endless variety of trails close by. Recently revamped, this cozy cottage offers a well-equipped kitchen, a comfy living room and even a fenced in yard for your favorite 4-legged friend. It is a super quick drive to Blackwater Falls and the chic city of Thomas. Live like a local! Come visit Cavie House!!

Our pleasant stay in Davis, WV.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Everything about the place nice. There was only one bathroom, but we were aware of this before we booked. Spacious rooms and nice fenced-in yard for pets!!

Hiking with dogs

We enjoyed our stay. The fenced in area was perfect for our dogs. House is in a area close to most hiking spots and blocks from restaurants and stores.

Davis stay

Great stay at this property. Hosts were easy to contact and had everything we needed. Rental’s pictures and descriptions are accurate. Close to great town of Thomas and In Davis. About 15 minutes to ski hills. Would come back again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Cavie House! We (and our dog) enjoyed spending long mornings and evenings relaxing on the front porch. Located just a few streets from downtown Davis and a short drive to Thomas, the house is the perfect "home base" for exploring all the Canaan Valley area has to offer. The team at Best of Canaan are great to work with!

Nice weekend stay

Property was really nice. Just remodeled, nice spacious yard and very close to downtown Davis. We enjoyed walking to the shops and restaurants, as the house was only two blocks back from the Main Street in town. The house is pet friendly, which is nice, however we were disappointed in the lack of cleanliness and pet hair on the couch, chair and beds. It didn’t appear that the furniture had been cleaned at all since a dog had been there.

Fresh and Clean

Such a nice house! Recently updated and very clean. Very close to local parks, shops, and restaurants. Truly welcoming to us and our dog. Love the fenced yard and towels by the door for paws. No pics of the bathroom in the listing, but not to worry. It was as clean and bright as the rest of the house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I rented the house for visiting friends and we were all very pleased. Very well stocked,had everything we needed and very clean. Great location, easy walk to the restaurants,etc in Davis and just a short drive to Thomas and Canaan Valley. The staff at Best of Canaan were great to work with.

Great Vacation House

My friends and I do a yearly stay in the Davis area and have never been able to land a spot downtown. This location was amazing! Just a block from downtown, we were able to walk to grab coffee and a bite to eat before heading out for our day's hike. The house was very clean and had more than enough room for the four of us(could easily have fit 6). The fenced in front yard was perfect for the dog, and they had a towel right inside the door for his paws. I recommend calling if you have any questions before your stay - had more success giving them a call rather than email. Will absolutely stay here next time!

First Time Here But Not The Last

My wife, son and me very much so enjoyed this home! It's thoughtfully and intuitively equipped/arranged to be super family and kid-friendly with nice touches for the furry family if you so choose. There's tons of natural lighting, a nice open kitchen/living space and roomy bedrooms. The front porch and fenced in yard were a Godsend for our son to just free range it as he wished.My only input would be to perhaps have a small, three-drawer dresser in the queen bedroom since there was no closet. In addition, the home was listed as having AC when just the master bed had a floor unit set up for the warm months. There were two days where the inside temperature was 77 and 78 degrees, respectively - bit warm and humid but ceiling fans and open windows helped take the edge off.All in all, a wonderful, clean spot to stay close to everything Davis has to offer - did I mention it was the perfect spot for the Canaan MTB Festival?? We'll be back!

Inviting and very confortable cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay in the Cavie house was wonderful! The house was inviting for all of us, even for our 2 doggies. Everything was extremely clean and the kitchen perfectly equipped. There were kids books with beautiful stories about WV which my son loved. There were a lot of board games and we spent great family times while it was raining outside. There is a public playground and basketball courts one block away, that my son enjoyed in the evenings. They even had towels and blows for the dogs. And the restaurants and main attractions were just two blocks away, perfect for a nice dinner and a short walk back home.I would definitely try to reserve this cabin for future trips

Great for skiing and families with babies

This was a beautiful and comfortable house to rent. We were very impressed by the little touches that the owner added to make travelling with a little one (11 month old) easier. There was a beautiful portable playgate and a high chair to use. There were thoughtful children’s books and extra blankets. It really made things nice. We loved the kitchen living room area. The location is perfect for visiting charming downtown Davis—walking distance to everything. It was a short drive to Timberline ski resort and very convenient to everything. The only substantial con I would give with the property is that the King Size mattress desperately needs to be replaced. It wasn’t sleepable. After trying and failing the first night, we moved to a full size bed which was very comfortable. We visited during heavy snow and while the driveway was cleared, they didn’t shovel the steps to the doorway, so we had to borrow a shovel from a neighbor to shovel them to be able to open the door. The property management company seemed a bit annoyed when I called and asked for a shovel but they did deliver one—just would expect friendlier service.
