Located in the gated community of Kiwanda Shore, this gorgeous, updated home puts you directly on the beach, with sand right off your deck and unobstructed coastal views to the north, south, and as far to the western horizon as your eye can see. You’re also an easy walk to Pacific City’s Cape Kiwanda, where you can drink an award-winning beer at the Pelican Pub, dine in luxury at the Meridian Restaurant, surf, search tidepools, see dory boats skim off the sea onto the sand, and enjoy people-watching on the beach.

The décor in Pacific City Sand Dollar reflects the open sky and sea outdoors—an all-white interior punctuated with blues and greys—making your time indoors feel just as rejuvenating. Sit back on contemporary sofas and watch the large TV and warming fire in the living room with new carpet. Enjoy dinner with a matchless ocean view from the dining room. The pretty blue-tiled kitchen is fully updated with new appliances and extras including a wine fridge, radiant cooktop and more—and where else can watch the surf while you cook? Great weekend getaway with gorgeous beach view

Weekend getaway

The house is beautiful with direct beach access out the back patio door and amazing views of Haystack Rock. The house was nicely stocked up with fresh towels and extra blankets to snuggle up sitting outside looking at the beautiful ocean. Its a very private location and we felt very safe in the neighborhood. The beds and pillows were great and i am looking forward to coming back for another visit!

Host cancelled last minute - left our family stranded

We received a call from the property management company literally two hours before our check in time that our house was being canceled. Our family had driven two days to the Oregon coast for this vacation. There was wastewater backing up into the toilet, sinks, and tubs of the house and they wouldn’t be able to get a plumber there for the next three days. While we understand some maintenance issues cannot be avoided, the property management company Meredith Lodging made no effort to help accommodate us. They simply told us everything was sold out along the Oregon coast and that they could provide us with a house in a town four hours away, in central Oregon. Our family, including our young kids were totally distressed, trying to find accommodations during peak season on the Oregon coast. There was no effort made to help us find a hotel, no offer of compensation, literally no help at all. We were finally able to find substandard accommodations, and once we explained this to the property management company and asked for reparations, they gave us a pittance toward the future stay ($100), something that wouldn’t even cover a small percentage of the service fees. When we asked further about getting some help to cover the costs of our trip, they dug their heels in and said it’s in the rental agreement that maintenance issues aren’t their fault and they wouldn’t be bothered about it anymore. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience with Meredith,Lodging and VRBO.

The home was not ready for us to check in until 6:30pm. I wish the windows had been cleaner. Otherwise we had a great time in a beautiful convenient location.

We loved our brief stay in Pacific City. The house was well appointed, comfortable and in a perfect location. They had everything we could have needed. Mind the ceilings on the second floor. We would love to come back one day.

Great home right on the beach!

My husband and I stayed four nights with five grandsons (ages 4-9). The house was a perfect location for our outings and the hit of the week was sand surfing on the dunes in front of the house. We would rent here again.

Beautiful beach home

Beautiful home right on the beach. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and cozy blankets. We loved sitting on the oceanside deck each evening. Owner provided wetsuits and boogie boards were a plus. Friendly beach community with a small town feel. The kids boogie and skim boarded each day. Welcome book provided great information on local activities and restaurants. We took advantage of surfing lessons with Moment Surf Co and a fantastic fishing trip with Haystack Fishing.

Perfect beachfront getaway

We loved spending out time here, the location right on the beach is priceless. Awesome to have this as your backyard during the stay! Our daughter just loved playing in the sand! The house is great as well, had most everything we needed for our stay. Thoughtfully renovated it seems, with still some things being older/original, so some of those things if eventually upgraded/improved then house would be flawless. Not complaining really though as it still was a great relaxing time here, but keep improving the house when you can, it is a great house! Nice to have actual high-speed internet as well for the couple days I had to do work. And it helped with some binge streaming as well. :-) I would def consider staying here again, I wish it wasn't so expensive, but it is better than other places we were looking into. Not a hit on the property, but out last night there, the large house neighboring us had a large group appear to check-in and that night they were loud way beyond quiet hours, smoking pot on the deck which we could smell just by going outside on our deck, had random people walking by our place right by the back deck and stepping on our deck even late at night, like 1am as they seemed to be cutting through side to get to the house entry or something. Since we were checking out in the morning, we didn't feel need to report anything. But that could be a nuisance if that was every day during the stay. Other than that, I think everything was as described in the listing. There was a bit of confusion with check-in/check-out instructions, such as door lock entry code/lock box key, etc. but we easily figured it out since we just tried the codes given on the door lock and it worked.
