Forget your worries in this serene space. Magnificent views and a quiet neighbourhood will give you the downtime you are looking for. A vehicle is required to get around Hornby Island, however we have a general store, restaurant and scenic marina within a 10 minute walk from the studio.

We are ferry dependent so keep in mind the ferry schedule (both Buckley and Hornby Ferries).

The stand-alone studio is attached to the garage building and is 200 ft away from the main house. It has a raised queen size bed so you can take in the ocean view while relaxing in bed. A kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave, induction cooktop, toaster, French coffee press and dishes is available for you to cook simple meals. The bathroom has a stand up shower.

The studio sleeps only 2 people, however in the summer we can accommodate 1 extra persons (in your own tent and sleeping bags) pitched on the deck or in the forest. There is an extra charge per camper per night - contact host for details.

The studio is equipped with a smart TV (no channels but Netflix, Prime etc are available). Board games and Wi-Fi also included.

The large kitchen window overlooks the spacious deck which has two chaise loungers, table and chairs and barbecue. Here you can enjoy the spectacular ocean and old growth forest views.

The host was an excellent communicator and often checked in during my stay to ask if everything was to my liking. The kitchen was well equipped with anything one might need. Coming in October the room was cold with only a heater to warm the one room and "almost" reach to the bathroom. It did warm up eventually. There was nowhere to put clothes and so my suitcase lay open on the small table provided. There were no window coverings on the big picture window which I found unsettling.

The host Lina provided excellent communication prior to my arrival and greeted me with a warm welcome .The studio is located in an exceptionally beautiful part of Hornby Island.The host gave me a quick tour of the studio and then encouraged me to message if i had any questions. The host lives in the main Home on the stunning acreage.The studio was very clean & tidy and lots if thought had been put into to making it comfortable and attractive. The host also made some great suggestions for outside hikes nearby which i enjoyed, including directions to a very secretive unmarked trail to the Oceanfront which is less than 10 min walk away.While visiting there was a decent windstorm that knocked out electricity on the entire island, the Host has a backup power generator that kicked in all was good! This studio is one of the most affordable rentals on Hornby and provides excellent value.It is best suited to no more than 2 Adults & is pet friendly!

We really enjoyed our stay at Heron Rocks LookoutIt was a comfortable, clean, quiet and private space and perfect for our little getaway.Lina is a kind and pleasant host and made us and, very importantly, our dog feel very welcome. It’s great to have such pet-friendly accommodation. She was also very quick to respond to any questions we had.

The room was clean and homey and had everything you need. We even managed to cook a couple meals in the little kitchen. It was right across from the farm where the fairs run so that was really convenient. There were a couple communication mishaps with the host (make sure to bring your own towels and sheets!) But she was very friendly and helpful in sorting things out. Overall we had a lovely trip and would stay again.

I was a great stay, excellent location, close to the bestcsubset spot, beach, restaurant and the store. Lina was very responsive to all our questiond and requests. The only note I must make is that the matress is very hard.

My stay was very enjoyable. The Studio had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The host, Lina, was very warm & welcoming. She was available & had genuine concern for my comfort. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Exceptional studio at an amazing location

We recently stayed at Lina's studio and the place was really well kept and everything was explained to us really well. The studio is at a walkable distance from heron rock. Highly recommended.

Cozy, compact Hornby Island retreat.

Well organized, clean, well appointed studio in a forest setting with views of farm fields, ocean and mountains. We live on Salt Spring Island so we are familiar with Gulf Island living. The weather was mostly cool and wet so the studio was a wonderful warm, dry place to relax for a few days. The host made us feel very welcome and we look forward to a return visit.

Great little cabin

Perfect place to stay on Hornby. Walking to Heron Rocks beach and Ford's Cove restaurant. Lina is a warm and congenial host.

Charming spot on Hornby!

Lina was very helpful and communicative with directions and checking in! Great little space with lots of amenities :) We wish we could stay longer! My son and I enjoyed our short visit to Hornby

Great get away spot to disconnect

Had a great time for a quick get away. Just Remember to bring all your own linens and stuff. Host was super nice and very welcoming. Looking forward to stay here in the future

Cute little place

We enjoyed our stay here however there were a few odd things which may be a cultural/language difference. Someone called us the day of arrival after we had texted with our plans and told us to pay a cash pet fee which was not mentioned in the listing. This was a bit of a put off. The place is nice but minimalist for sure. Well stocked kitchen wise - large fridge which was nice. Small peekabo view and the walk to the beach has a steep part so you need to be able to navigate that. Beautiful little deck and quiet. There are odd rules (no tp in the toilet) that would have been good to know in advance. We had to empty our garbage (due to tp) halfway so it didn’t smell. Also thought it was a bit strange that we had to take our garbage with us. We don’t produce much and we pay a cleaning fee so it seems a bit odd? Totally understood bringing our own bedding to reduce washing, however on arrival there was a duvet and blanket. overall enjoyed the stay, was cozy and well stocked. Oh and the bed is quite firm - I didn’t mind but some may find it too hard.

Great Stay

We had a lovely time at Heron Rocks Lookout! The place is small, but cozy and well equipped. There is a large patio with a beautiful view and easy to use BBQ. The studio has a shared wall with the garage which made it feel a little less private but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful location

I loved walking to the Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Provincial Park trail. I was there during a heat wave and swimming just off the trail with my dog was amazing. Fun narrow windy drive to Co-op. A few wonderful and tasty stands along the way for veggies and baked goods. Lina was super nice and quick to connect. The deck is private and the view and ocean breeze was a nice treat given the heat. An added bonus was the cattle farm below. In the evenings we watched the farmer and his working dogs bring in the cows! I found the raised bed a little awkward to get into because the mattress kept shifting over but it was super comfortable. Slept soundly. Wifi was strong. Had everything I needed. Will be back again! Thanks, Lina : )

Good with some drawbacks

Quiet rural and scenic location. Overall conditions of small studio was reasonable. Spacious outside deck with good seating and table. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. The bed was average for comfort however was very high, somewhat of a challenge for a medium height woman. ( need to use a stool, if shorter) Indoor seating ( dining) was not comfortable,, unless for a short period. Internet and tv were good. Some drawbacks /rules took away some of the overall enjoyment. These were explained as normal for the location of Hornby Island. Bring your own sheets and towels. No toilet paper allowed in toilet Take away your own gargage. Use one appliance at time. The host had good communication. Happy to be allowed our small dog. Overall , good for a short visit , if you don’t mind the above noted rules. We stayed 2 nights. Unfortunately one day was rainy, so we were inside more than expected.
