**** Guest are required to bring their own (queen size) bedding and towels *** and to takeaway the trash&recycling off property****Hornby Island has a fragile eco system and water supply - hanse these are common practices on Hornby
Forget your worries in this serene space. Magnificent views and a quiet neighbourhood will give you the downtime you are looking for. A vehicle is required to get around Hornby Island, however we have a general store, restaurant and scenic marina within a 10 minute walk from the studio.

We are ferry dependent so keep in mind the ferry schedule (both Buckley and Hornby Ferries).

The stand-alone studio is attached to the garage building and is 200 ft away from the main house. It has a raised queen size bed so you can take in the ocean view while relaxing in bed. A kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave, induction cooktop, toaster, French coffee press and dishes is available for you to cook simple meals. The bathroom has a stand up shower.

The studio sleeps only 2 people, however in the summer we can accommodate 1 extra persons (in your own tent and sleeping bags) pitched on the deck or in the forest. There is an extra charge per camper per night - contact host for details.

The studio is equipped with a smart TV (no channels but Netflix, Prime etc are available). Board games and Wi-Fi also included.

The large kitchen window overlooks the spacious deck which has two chaise loungers, table and chairs and barbecue. Here you can enjoy the spectacular ocean and old growth forest views.

Lina was an excellent ambassador for the Heron Rocks Lookout, personable and very welcoming. The lovely 'compact' suite suited our needs and the small kitchen area included most items one would need to cook up a meal. Coffee, Tea and condiments were supplied. The view from the front of the studio showcased the ocean and local farm fields. The outdoor deck would be a perfect place to enjoy the warm sun and to relax under the tall trees surrounding the cottage. We would return again, perhaps in the warmer weather so we could enjoy the deck more.We thank you Lina for hosting us at the Heron Rocks Studio. We really enjoyed our stay at Heron Rocks LookoutIt was a comfortable, clean, quiet and private space and perfect for our little getaway.Lina is a kind and pleasant host and made us and, very importantly, our dog feel very welcome. It’s great to have such pet-friendly accommodation. She was also very quick to respond to any questions we had.

The room was clean and homey and had everything you need. We even managed to cook a couple meals in the little kitchen. It was right across from the farm where the fairs run so that was really convenient. There were a couple communication mishaps with the host (make sure to bring your own towels and sheets!) But she was very friendly and helpful in sorting things out. Overall we had a lovely trip and would stay again.

Exceptional studio at an amazing location

Cozy, compact Hornby Island retreat.

Well organized, clean, well appointed studio in a forest setting with views of farm fields, ocean and mountains. We live on Salt Spring Island so we are familiar with Gulf Island living. The weather was mostly cool and wet so the studio was a wonderful warm, dry place to relax for a few days. The host made us feel very welcome and we look forward to a return visit.

We had a lovely time at Heron Rocks Lookout! The place is small, but cozy and well equipped. There is a large patio with a beautiful view and easy to use BBQ. The studio has a shared wall with the garage which made it feel a little less private but overall we really enjoyed our stay.
