This cabin was a gem. We had rainy weather, but still was able to enjoy the beach and time outside. The cabin was just as described. We did have to message the host remind them to send along check-in information, but she responded promptly. We would definitely go back!
The property is lovely and just as described! The cabin is clean and well maintained, check in was easy, and the location is great. Extra parking was really close. Overall very happy with they stay. The only tips to others I would give is bring your own pillows since the ones provided are a bit lackluster (they were clean though) and extra of some basics like sugar and dishwasher pods since you don't get many (especially if your group is more than 4 people). Otherwise highly recommend this property! Loved it!
Check-in was simple, the property was clean and ready for us upon our arrival. We truly enjoyed our stay. The view from the deck was unexpected and we loved looking out over the water. Kitchen was well stocked and we took advantage of the bbq and outdoor eating. Wifi was excellent and one of our party was able to easily work and take meetings. Highly recommend this cottage.
Great property - beautifully maintained. Very quiet area and beach. Communication was excellent. Perfect place to relax and hang out. Lot of steps! But beautiful stretch of beach made it worth it!
This cottage is smaller, but beautifully updated and furnished with everything to make a family vacation perfect. It includes lots of dinner table space, couch, seating, and bedroom space with an extra bunkie. The location is so quiet and the view is awesome. Just a 5 minute drive to Port Albert beach which was perfect for our big and little swimmers.
It was a great property. It was cozy and comfortable. We had everything that we needed. All beds were clean and comfortable. Very private. Too many steps to the beach for 1 older person. We had great bonfires every night. The bunkie was super great and cute. We enjoyed ourselves despite cool, damp weather.
I came to this property with friends all in our early 20s looking for a perfect end of summer weekend getaway, that's exactly what we got. The cottage is beautiful lots of room for friends and couples! The beach is beautiful, you have to walk down quite a few stairs but it's totally worth it. The water is crystal clear! Would highly recommend coming here everything was perfect!
The property was in excellent shape, well designed, and had everything that we needed. Having access to the beach through the staircases was an excellent amenity to have, based on the location of the property. They had clear instructions and a guidebook on everything at the property. There was lots of firewood was available for campfires and the automatic outdoor lighting system that turned on and off was very helpful.
Would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Remote and quiet. Great for getting away from everything. The beach was 5 minutes away, and we had it to ourselves.
The outdoor space was well thought out, and the bunkie was a nice hang out space, even if you don't need it for sleeping space.
Only downside, and nothing the owners can control, is sulfur well water. The owners provide a filter, which helps, but consider bringing some drinking water.
Our family had a wonderful vacation week here. The cottage interior is newly and tastefully renovated and had all we needed without being cluttered. We basically lived in the outdoor spaces including the deck, the backyard and the fire pit area. We appreciated the new stairs that brought you toward the water, but the second tier is difficult to navigate. We did spend time at the Port Albert beach which is great for kids and very close by.
What a great time! The A Frame is everything it’s claimed to be and more. Beautiful outdoor space, charming seaside decor, and a full kitchen for those who like to cook. The staircase leading to the beach is definitely for the sure-footed, but our group was up for the adventure and made several trips down there—watch your step! The welcome package had everything we needed prior to our arrival, so all that was left to do was enjoy. Thanks to Gavin and Laura for a great experience.
We enjoyed a wonderful week at the A-Frame! The cottage had everything that we needed plus a beautiful view of Lake Huron. We appreciated the large deck and fire pit area which we enjoyed using. The inside dining area was wonderful for the rainy days. The comfortable well appointed bunkie was a hit with the grandparents to have some quiet time on their own. The dishwasher was much appreciated as was the TV. We used the public main beach mostly due to our young children's ages and it was a short 5 minute drive away. This area offers many interesting things to do. We would definitely return to this cottage.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the cottage, first impressions were “how charming is this” and once inside the charm continued, the cottage was well appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay right down to the sweetest bunkie!
We loved the open concept layout giving the space a light, airy feeling even on a rainy day.
The fire pit was a real treat that we enjoyed every night!
Beach access from the cottage is for the sure footed but we enjoyed the public beach a short drive away where there is easy access for all ages.
The Pub at the General Store in Port Albert had yummy pizza! You won’t be disappointed
Our host was accessible and helpful,
Thanks for the wonderful stay, we’ll be back!
The cottage in Goderich/Port Albert was very clean and updated. We had beautiful weather the first week of October and enjoyed visiting nearby towns and beaches. We found nice restaurants in Goderich and the General Store and Pub in Port Albert which has awesome pizza, fish and chips and chicken tacos! The General Store stocks a little bit of everything you might need and is only a little more than 2 miles away.
The kitchen had everything we needed to make quick meals. There is a great fire pit fully stocked with wood to burn and an amazing set of stairs going down to the beach. The sunsets looking over Lake Huron were gorgeous and we even caught a sunrise looking out across the street to a Farmers field! We spent one day in Stratford (1 hour away) and saw Spam A Lot at the Avon Theater which had amazing singing and dancing. It is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing at the A Frame cottage. It also has a lovely deck to eat outside or drink your morning coffee and is surrounded by trees making it very private!
Beautiful spot with lot of privacy. Property well kept. The access to the beach was nice to have but quite steep so not ideal if you have little ones. Public beach close by. Cottage clean and had all the necessities. Enough storage for food, etc. Beds were comfortable and the bunkie was a nice extra space to have. Would definitely recommend to others and would definitely consider staying again.
