Great staycation

We had a terrific stay during a weekend of open houses and private showings of our home I. Preparation for a X-country move. Really appreciated the building’s amenities, especially the dog treats!

The management company and communication - Global - was horrible and unacceptable. Their communication was untimely and inconsistent beginning with our request to arrive a day earlier. We were told that we could be accommodated and we sent a confirmation emailas requested. Over 24 hours later after 3 inquiries by us we were told we could not stay there. In addition - from that point on it was a bloody nightmare. All about us proving who we were in advance of our check in. I filled out all the necessary information on Monday and sent in. Although all of the costs, including parking had been paid. We received an email on Tuesday mid day saying the credit card I took the picture of did not match what they had on file. We did not have internet service until 4, At which time we attempted to rectify the situation. The linktook over an hour or more - due to spinning and spinning before someone said they would take a look and then call us back. We went into the complex and nobody called. I retried the number twice before someone answered. At this time it was past 5:30 before an apartment number was released. When asking about parking - which we had paid for 3 days previously the Global assistant informed me that their parking department was closed and they would be unable to release the parking When asked what they thought we were going to do I was informed to park on the street. Space running out - I'm not done.

Bright, clean apartment in a great location

Great building and unit in a terrific location. But please be aware that (a) it's a rental apartment, not a condo owner by the host [and the building concierge let me know off the bat that they've had issues with the host company], and (b) parking is an extra charge that must be arranged in advance. I wasn't asked at booking whether I wanted it, so it was a last minute scramble to arrange it the day of check-in. Also, know that your host is a corporate entity. For me, the communications weren't as good as I've experienced with previous VRBO units rented directly from owners. Pros: Clean, bright, spacious apartment in a luxury building. Great location - walked to Harris Teeter, the local beer/wine store, restaurants, the Bethesda metrorail station, and a lovely walking trail adjacent to NIH. Cons: Sterile, nice balcony but unusable without any furniture on it, poorly equipped kitchen (for ex. no salt/ pepper, oil, foil, kitchen towel, only one dishwasher pod, cheap coffee maker, etc.), no nice luxury touches that I've had at other VRBOs (local coffee, nice soaps, luxury towels, etc.) and there's a police station right up the street so you'll hear sirens at times. Overall, I'd rate the experience a 7/10.

The appartment looks like the photos, and it is well located. Overpriced for the poor service and general stated. Here's a few issues:Check In: Arrived and person in front office had no note of our reservation. I had to call the host (an admin company) to get a hold of someone.Communication: I had 2 situations I needed support after check in, with no success- They provide only one FOB and you depend on it to use elevator, open front door, access most services. We were 4 people. I requested a FOB on a Thursday, I got it on the following Wednesday (day of my check out)- I had a door to the balcony that wouldn't stay closed (unless I slammed it). I didn't want to keep slamming it, I asked them for maintenance on Friday or Saturday, by Wednesday nothing had happened, no one showed up.
