Great place! Very comfortable, in a nice area with all the amenities one would want. The warm pool was very enjoyable as well. We were upgraded to beach front, and while it wasn't advertised as included we were lucky to have access to chairs and beach equipment, which was nice!

Mother daughter getaway

We love the island of Captiva and enjoyed our long getaway weekend. The VRBO had all the amenities we needed. We were a bit disappointed to see the level of construction right outside our deck which prevented us from using the screen porch. Otherwise, it was great.

Great time on the island. Rental was nice though both of us thought the toilet seats very uncomfortable. I know weird comment but there you go. No decent knife in the kitchen.Otherwise very nice.

Loved our time on Captiva

The property was just perfect for our family. Very clean and had everything we needed! It seemed even more updated than the photos showed which was a pleasant surprise. The location on the property was just as expected. Close to the pool and an easy walk to the beach. The only reason I rated a 4 for location is there was construction right outside of our lanai so we didn’t really use it. When the construction is done it will be a large pool complex that you won’t have access to. That might be a problem if you have kids in your group that can see but not use it.

Disappointing and bug bites

The grounds are still in terrible shape from hurricanes. The outside view is of them putting in a new pool with construction going on. I got over 30 bites on my body I believe it was from the couch or quilt that I used that was in the bedroom dresser.

This includes details about ongoing construction projects, such as the pool replacement you mentioned. We are diligently working to restore the property to its pre-hurricane condition, but it is an ongoing process. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate these challenges. Regarding the bites you experienced, we are sorry to hear about this. It's possible they were caused by no-seeums, tiny biting insects that are common in coastal areas. These insects can cause reactions in certain individuals, and we recommend using insect repellent as a precaution. It's disheartening to receive a negative review despite our transparent disclosures about the property's condition. We are committed to providing accurate information and ensuring our guests have a comfortable stay, even as we rebuild from the impacts of multiple hurricanes. We love Captiva!

The property was clean but smelled moldy. I was informed via text three hours before check-in that some amenities would not be available and some local restaurants may not be open. I was NEVER informed that the laundry room was non-operational or the heated pool that was advertised. The management company did drop off extra towels and did pick up our dirty laundry the Wednesday evening of our stay and returned them Friday morning, the day before our departure. We were also informed via text that the AC unit could not be set lower than 72 degrees or the unit would freeze up and if it froze up from our lowering it below 72- would could be charged for repairs. The shelling, beaches and local restaurants were wonderful as was Ding Darling! We love Sanibel and Captiva!

We understand how frustrating it is to arrive and find that advertised features are unavailable. We also regret that you were not informed about the non-operational laundry room and the heated pool in advance. We do disclose all of that information on each property description and message guests prior to arrival, however, again, we'll make sure to re-double our efforts in that regard moving forward. We appreciate you acknowledging our efforts to provide extra towels and assist with the laundry service. We aim to be responsive to our guests' needs, even when unforeseen issues arise. Regarding the AC unit, we apologize for the restrictions and any discomfort this may have caused. Had many issues!

The property was fantastic! We loved staying there with the screened in balcony. The place was clean, had plenty of things to do around the area.I don't think you're clear enough in your instructions. I'm old! I need clear instructions on how to operate the TV. I did not know that I needed to bring my own passwords along to watch television. We never did get to watch the regular news! We were told that the beaches were open then when we arrive they are not open. It was not clear that we could walk to the beach near our place. There wasn't anyone to ask questions of! We saw some people walking with beach chairs and asked where they were going. That is how we found the beach near us! I had asked the guards at the gate and they said we were not allowed on the beach there! We were not told that there was a shuttle that could have taken us to other places. My brother in law wanted to go fishing near us and we could have been dropped off! We found out about the shuttle on the last night we were there! We were told there was a laundry, but did not say where it was, finally found it and the code did not work to get in! We did enjoy our stay, we just wish you could have been clearer on what we could have done.
