Right next to Fogarty Creek Recreation Area, the beach at Surfrider features large rock formations for exciting beach exploration, tide pooling, agate hunting, and magnificent surf. Depoe Bay is famous for whale watching, which you can do right from your balcony! This completely updated home has several outdoor areas for enjoying the rock-studded beach below: an ocean-view side deck with a fire-table, seating, and barbecue, a west-facing sitting deck, a covered hot tub area that seats 4, and a gazebo for watching sunsets with a glass of wine in hand. My daughter's family, my son's family, and I enjoyed our four-day stay at your beautiful beach house. We had 5 teenagers with us, they asked if we could return again next summer. They loved the pool room and the big downstairs bedroom, where they all slept together, not in separate bedrooms. They loved the views from the decks and mostly they loved the beach! They loved the tide pools with starfish, crabs and other sea life. I, myself, had the master bedroom that I loved. Every morning, lying in bed watching the sun come and then watching the waves from my bed. The kitchen was a good size for my family, and there was plenty of seating in the livingroom, too. The view from upstairs and downstairs were amazing, we will be back next summer!

Internet was very poor! Things were not described as they should be…. No beach access, no utilization of the resort, no pool, keypad entry was not working, this place was NOT like the pictures.( We left a note describing maintenance issues.)The views were amazing!

It was pet-friendly. The beds were comfortable and the views of the ocean were great. This is a perfect place to stay with family or a group of people. The host was quick to answer all of our questions. The hot tub water needed some cleaning but overall the place was wonderful and we would definitely stay there again.

Overall, this property served our needs. It was clean and contained enough dishes, towels, and beds for all of us. Though the table is large enough to seat 10, there are only 6 dining chairs. The view of the beach and ocean was great.Travelers in 2026 should know that the resort next door is completely fenced off and undergoing major renovation which blocks access to the stairs to the beach. This will hopefully be fixed once construction is done, whenever that may be. Also, there has not been a playground here since at least 2025 (we discovered this during our stay last summer), so the listing is inaccurate in that sense as well. Instructions for trash handling were also outdated when we stayed in 2025, and had not been updated for 2026. We had to contact the owner to find out where to take our trash. They were responsive and found the answer for us in a timely manner.For those with mobility difficulties, you will want to know that there is a short, steep, paved path from the car to the front door, and two steps up to enter the house. After that the master bedroom/bathroom, main living area with view, and kitchen/dining room are all on the same level, so no other stairs are necessary. There are two steps down (no railing) to access the pool table room and the patio with the grill. All other bedrooms require stairs. Our family member with a walker was able to access the property and enjoy the stay, keeping mostly to the main level.

The house needs a lot of maintenance! Some dangerous situations including the following: Bunkbed very wobbly and children couldn't sleep in it, heater in downstairs was directly over the murphy bed so children could play with it, lower step into main door is loose, downstairs slider would not lock, area rug in living room was lifted and was a tripping hazard, it was filled with dead flies and living flies we killed the whole time we were there. Not as advertised, no game room playground or pool access.So many things to list but the maintenance is the worst and some dangerous.

We’re sorry your stay fell short of expectations. Safety is our top priority — we notified maintenance and housekeeping to inspect and repair the bunk bed as needed. Regarding the heater, we confirmed after your stay that it has no controls on it, so kids cannot play with it. We also inspected the downstairs sliding glass door and it does lock. And the upstairs rug has been taped down in corner and is no longer a tripping hazard. And lastly, we inspected for flies in mid-December and none were found in the home. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention so we could take this opportunity to do a full inspection of the home.

The space in this house is amazing! The photos don’t fully give you an appreciation for how much space there is to just hang out! We had nine people in our group and we had plenty of space.The location is amazing! Being able to sit on the upper deck and see straight out to the ocean was so relaxing. That is where I hung out every morning!The only critical thing I have to say about our stay was that the toilet in the main bedroom was not working. I called within a couple hours of checking in to let the property management know and they said that they would send someone out the next morning. No one ever came to Fix the toilet.Overall, I would definitely recommend this home! And if you’re there while the wild blackberries are in season, definitely pick some!

I really wanted this to be a better experience than it was. First of all, the views are STUNNING and outside decks were lovely. The house was reasonable clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen stocked with basics. Big table in the middle was great to do one of the puzzles on and we got the whole family involved. A few complaints, though: downstairs daybed is broken on one side, so my 90 year old stepped slept on the bottom bunkbed. Remotes in one bedroom were dead… bummer for late night binging. Curtains BARELY cover windows, so lots of light shows through…. Those of you who sleep past the crack of dawn, watch out. Rug in living room is a huge tripping hazard. Upstairs sliding door…. OMG the worst. It slips off track, won’t close all the way, screen is completely gone and just sitting bent on the deck beside it. The closet off the kitchen is SO SMELLY. Do not open that door. And the garbage situation… ugh. There’s no recycling for anything, there’s only one small can, and EVERYONE uses it; including the hotel guests from above. Once it’s overflowing then that’s when the critters get in it and string it about. It sucks. And there’s no beach access from the property or the hotel, but hotel guests walk down into the yard constantly to check it out. It needs to be posted somewhere. All in all, it was nice, but could have been better. 8/10.

Key pad didn’t work so once we called and finally got the lockbox open we only had one key. The key for hotel didn’t work so we couldn’t get use pool or get ice. Dust to side of oven. Overall we loved this property. The access code wouldn’t work for us to enter the property but luckily the basement door was unlocked so we were able to get in. We tried numerous times to communicate with the property manager regarding internet, beach access, and other things but once we got there they stopped communicating with us. The WiFi did not work. The beach access is actually to the farther side of the hotel. The rug in the main room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or vacuumed in several stays. Mast room carpet needed vacuumed as well. We loved the decor especially since it seemed more like a hotel. Hot tub was great but fire did not work. We know things go missed and we are giving this company another try at another property so we hope the communication is better this time around.

The house was a great size and layout and accommodated our family well. We wish the beach access was a little more convenient - but the view was great. We loved being able to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. The blackberries did seem to be on the verge of taking over the gazebo area and obstructed the view a little bit.. trimming them back would make the views top notch.The house is definitely older, and has been updated in some ways but the kitchen could use more than just a fresh coat of paint. Some of the drawers were nearly impossible to open. The chairs around the table were comfortable but the fabric was peeling so bad it was making a mess on the ground. The pool table area was fun but - the table slants to one corner, only one stick was usable, and there was no chalk (we brought our own and left it there for the next guest)The downstairs area smelled like either there was moisture damage or at some point there was smoking in that area. Also the master bathroom and downstairs bathroom smelled strongly of urine. Honestly these are probably the biggest reasons this property would not be our first choice in the future.

Not the experience I expect

I was so happy when I see this house and all the fun we expecting to have.. but as soon as I get here the fire pit to enjoy outside doesn’t work at all , the hot tub doesn’t work ( the water NEVER GET WARM/HOT ) there is no light outside by the hot tub my son and wife trip a few times we can’t enjoy there ether, the water heater is leaking WE have to clean several times so nobody has any accident with the water on the floor. When I just arrived the host manager was communicating with me but as soon I started to complain about the situation she stops to answering me . ( we have to do other activities and spend more money outside the house because there is nothing fun to do at the house ) .

I did contact the host however have still not heard back regarding a reasonable refund. Summary: Garbage overflowing, water leaks fridge/DW, Hot tub does not lock/over use of chlorine could not use. Broken screens/bottom and top dining room when we arrived. Could not open. No screen on game room door slider. WiFi awful, inconsistent coverage or no coverage at all. Unable to watch tv or use any devices for one full movie. None of the remotes were connected and were not charged. Had to find chargers and charge then repair remotes. Main bathroom toilet paper holder broken. Heater in downstairs bathroom and bedroom does not work. Bedroom blows cold air and bathroom does not turn on. King bedroom toilet key clogging. Carpet downstairs smells of strong urine and wet dog. Dryer makes terrible screeching sound. Room below the house/crawl space open and unlocked. No playground as advertised. Pool is unsanitary, murky, no running water, mold on ground. Being demolished in three weeks. This was a big part of why we stayed here. Game room and bedroom with two queens is not on the main level as advertised. When you have families with ADA needs this is an important detail. I do not like to leave negative reviews, but did give them the chance to make it right first. I will not be booking with Meredith lodging again. No communication with owner.

We hope it reflects our sincerest apologies for the interruptions you encountered during your stay. We took your report seriously and completed a full inspection and a number of repairs and updates after your departure. Our maintenance team could not locate broken screens, but did measure for a slider screen so we can get one installed. Maintenance is also working on replacing the downstairs heater and replacing the dryer belt, too. They fixed the toilet paper holder after you checked out, and they are working to improve the Wi-Fi signal for easier streaming. The housekeeping team inspected the carpet thoroughly and did not find evidence of urine or any strong smells, but we passed your feedback to the homeowner and they will consider booking a carpet clean soon just to be absolutely sure it’s in top-notch shape.
