We loved our stay! The apartment is in a great section of Foz, Porto, It is not the town center and was more like a local neighborhood with great places to eat and literally 100-200 steps to the beach. We had incredible Sangria down the beach to the right, spectacular for sunset. There is a larger, louder beachfront restaurant/bar straight down from the apt. It was busier and a younger crowd. ( we are 60).It’s a very beautiful apartment and attention was given to every detail. The 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were ideal. The kitchen had everything needed. There is a private patio and yard with chaise lounges. There are grape vines, olive trees, lime tree… and a very friendly black and white cat. The apt is around back, with two sets of French doors. The owner stated that since October is usually a rainy month, it can seem damp and she wanted to be forthcoming. There was a dehumidifier on site. We used it and it worked beautifully. We emptied it twice a day, as it is just dumping a plastic container in the shower a few feet away. Super easy…We walked the sea front down to where it meets the Douro river ( maybe 2 miles?) it’s a flat walk. The historic center is very touristy , and very hilly.. everything is on a hill in Porto. But the historic center has so many more people, beautiful old buildings but we really loved having our private patio and the beachside sunset. We didn’t rent a car but taxi and Bolt were very reasonable.
