Large extended family filled this property (plus the cottage booked separately) for a few nights while attending a wedding.The house is amazing - loads of space, intriguing design, comfortable. We made use of the pool table, the piano but mainly the kitchen.Swimming nearby, all the outlet stores, lots of restaurants.Great visit - hosts in helpful contact too.

We came to visit our son for Thanksgiving, and this home far exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, open, and spacious—everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and plenty of room to relax and hang out. The house is truly a gem. Waking up to the spectacular water views from our bedroom was such a treat. Thank you for a wonderful stay and a great visit!

Excellent for a Family Getaway

Our family had an amazing, memorable stay at this property for Thanksgiving. My husband and I brought our two families together for a week away for the holiday, and the house was perfect. Tons of beds and baths for everyone to get their own space, great play space for the kids, and a well-stocked kitchen perfect for family breakfasts and a full Thanksgiving feast. We would absolutely rent here again!

Architectural gem

This was a unique home in a quiet kittery neighborhood. My family was in town for a Friday wedding and enjoyed relaxing together at this home through weekend. Lots of different spaces to visit together or separate for quiet reading. Bedrooms are removed from gathering spots.

Lovely home, friendly and communicative hosts

The house was the perfect spot for a family weekend celebrating my daughter’s graduation. The well stocked kitchen allowed for preparation of great meals, and the many rooms and spaces in the house allowed us to spread out and enjoy.

Admittedly, I don't like to write negative reviews, but thought it was necessary to provide constructive criticism.PROS:1) Location is great. Very convenient to Portsmouth, NH.2) House is large, clean and can accommodate many guests.3) Property owners were very accommodating and responded to questions/concerns in a timely manner.4) House was clean.CONS:1) View from deck. This house was specifically chosen due to its size and water view from the deck. VRBO photos from the deck are deceiving, as they were taken when leaves were not on the trees. We were only able to see water from the upstairs master bedroom.2) The two en suite bathrooms had pocket doors separating the toilet/shower from the bedroom. Both doors were off their tracks and were difficult to position, leaving no privacy.3) A large section of the deck railing is rotten and needs to be replaced, as well as all worn decking. Fresh coat of paint should be considered. 4) The outdoor lighting near the rear steps is not sufficient at night. There is a lip on one of the steps that was not seen almost resulting in a fall.5) The 350 cleaning fee for three nights was a little excessive, since we were expected to clean the kitchen, load the dishwasher, strip the beds and carry the linens to the laundry room.6) There is no outdoor grill. Big disappointment.7) There is only one television in the house. Considering the home size, there should be at least two more. 8) Indoor and outdoor furniture is dated.

Nice stay

Eclectic architectural design. Lots of room , much of it allowing for individual space while staying with a group. Fun pool hall room. Great outside deck with table/chairs overlooking the river.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

We greatly enjoyed staying at this property. Nine family and wonderful friends from around the US stayed for 4 days. This property was big enough for all of us to come together, yet have space when needed. The host accommodated a specific request that we had, which was greatly appreciated. House was very clean and had everything we needed. We would stay again if ever in the area.

The home has the most amazing view. We stayed here with my family for my 60th birthday and it was perfect in every way. Lots of room for all of us. Location was great, just about 10 minutes to Portsmouth and a few minutes from downtown Kittery. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful House

My husband grew up in the area and I’ve walked by this house many times on our visits to Maine so I was excited to find this on VRBO. The house was perfect and roomy for my husband and I and our three adult children. The house was extremely clean and the furnishings were beautiful and unique. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved the music room and the views were incredible. Would definitely book again.

Gorgeous home!

A group of us just returned from 3 nights at this gorgeous property. The home is unique and beautiful with great artwork, nice furnishings and awesome views. There are so many rooms and spaces to sit in and entertain, including a grand piano and a pool table. It is really a special property. The location is great - close to York and Portsmouth yet very private and secluded. Thank you for making our trip so special!

Amazing views and house has zen feeling

Our family enjoyed 3 nights at Zee home it has amazing views from first floor and master bedroom. We felt right at home has a great flow from room to room and a zen feeling. Very comfortable setting and everything you need is provided. Communication with Zee was easy and super responsive. We enjoyed Portsmouth and celebrated our daughters graduation from UNH in Durham all close by.

Wonderful setting, lovely house.

Six of us had a wonderful off-seaon (winter) long weekend here. Even though it was cold outside and we had an overnight snowstorm, this property provided a great home for a few days. We had lots of space to go off by ourselves, and then come together to cook and eat and watch football. Enjoyed forays to Kittery Foreside and Portsmouth NH market square, both minutes away. Z and James were both very accommodating hosts. We can only imagine how even more enjoyable this home would be in the warmer seasons.

Perfect home with epic view

Z's property was a wonderfully located home nestled in the woods of Kittery ME just under 20 minutes from Portsmouth NH. A group of 7 of us wanted a home nearby and this property provided the perfect stay. A large charming home with unique design. The beds we're super comfortable. All amenities listed in listing we're available and up to date. The view overlooking the water from the master bedroom was amazing. Similar view from dining room provided a nice place to convene and enjoy our dinners. This place is highly recommended and we would absolutely stay at Z's again if up in this area.

It is a beautiful house with a water view from the dining room, living room and master suite.

I highly recommend this house since it very comfortably handled six adult members of my extended family. Everyone had their own bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. There was perfect space for family meals but plenty of space for privacy and quiet reading rooms. The full size pool table was a plus for fun and games. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms in this house were perfectly clean. Everyone in my family was very impressed! I will plan to stay again in the future. Overall, it is an excellent choice for a coastal Maine oceanfront vacation rental ! Thanks, Brian

Perfect get-away home

We are a three generation family consisting of 8 adults and 2 teens. We all loved this property! The house is sparkling clean and not only spacious, but configured so that there are places to congregate and places if you want some quiet time to yourself. We enjoyed playing pool, congregating around the dining room table to play games after dinner, and socializing in the living room with the TV. The location is quiet but very near Route 1 and we all had things to do from touring Portsmouth, to biking, hiking and shopping. All in all, I could not recommend this property more highly.

We had a wonderful week at this home. The house, located on a hill in a quiet neighborhood, is large, very unique, and was perfect for our family’s vacation. The many levels of this house gave all of us space to relax on our own or join the family activities in the den, dining room, or the huge game room. The pool table and grand piano in the game room provided hours of fun. The house is full of windows, letting in lots of light and allowing us to always catch those pretty views. The primary bedroom on the top floor is amazing! It’s a perfect spot to sit and just take in the view.The kitchen is well equipped, although we couldn’t find a large lobster pot, and there was no grill on the property.There is so much to do just a short driving distance from the house, but it’s also a good starting point for some nice bike rides and walks.Our grandchildren said, “this was the best house we’ve ever been to.”Thank you Z, James, and Sam!

The house is a good value and is very spacious. The owner responds quickly to messages and also brought over more hairdryers. However note that there are air conditioners in only 3 of the 5 bedrooms. The single bedroom has neither AC nor a window that opens. The view was pretty but not what I was expecting from the photos. I realize now that the photos were taken when there were no leaves on the trees and perhaps when the trees were much smaller. The photos show much more of a water view than there actually was from the lower two floors. There is a beautiful view from the third floor bedroom, which is huge. The current view is pretty with trees and some water, just not what I was expecting. The pictures also showed a patio table and chairs, but there was only a table outside when we were there. We were there an early June when the weather had been cold so perhaps the chairs will be forthcoming. The first floor layout is interesting in that there are about five stairs from the pool table room to the sunroom and then another five stairs from the sunroom to the kitchen area. The sunroom is full of beautiful kitchen plants and several were in bloom.

As much as I hate to leave a negative review, I am puzzled by the glowing reviews I readabout this property. The good news is that the host communicates well, and the master bedroom is good sized. The deficiencies of the property are many. The furnishings are very tired. There is only one television in the entire home, and the TV is small and of inferior quality. The outside spaces were dirty and neglected. The main level views of the lake are obstructed. The outdoor furniture is of inferior quality and was too dirty to use. The kitchen implements were old, and the knives were dull. I have to say that for the amount we paid, we were extremely disappointed in this property.
