The house was amazing, great location, clean and perfect for our family gathering. The property management team was very helpful and quick to respond to questions, will definitely be back for a return trip!!!

The property was just as described. Great beach access. Plenty of room for large family group. Well stocked with cooking utensils. Communication with host was excellent. Would definitely return.

Beautiful location and beach, but home needs work.

I would love to simply state this was a 5 star stay; however, with the challenges with the home, it simply was not the case. Starting with the positives, the location and beach are perfect, particularly since we went in September when the crowds were gone. We were literally the only ones on the beach within a half of a mile. The home itself is set up quite nicely, particularly with the elevator. I rented the home so my elderly parents could enjoy it. As such, the elevator was a must and it worked perfectly. The home is well stocked with appliances and such. The rooms were spacious, quiet and comfortable. Although there were only 5 of us, the home could comfortably fit several more. Now for the challenges that we found simply to be unacceptable. To begin, we walked in to find several pots sitting around the living room with a note stating that if we find more leaks, to please place another pot under them. There were many, including dripping on the stairs on the first floor, on the couch in the living room, and above the pots already positioned. The water would splash out of the pots, creating slip hazards, particularly on the stairs. The water was from condensation from the AC system and was literally dripping through the wood ceiling and it was obvious it has been doing it for quite some time due to black discoloration on the wood. Cannot help but to think there would be mold in the ceiling. But the fact that we had to spend our vacation chasing leaks and changing out pots of water is far from ideal. Secondly, the home has mice. We saw numerous mouse traps throughout the home but it became evident when we opened the closet to the ocean facing guest bedroom on the 2nd floor and found bits of foam all over the floor that mice had obviously chewed off of the pipe insulation passing through the closet. Before I let my parents move in we had to vacuum up the closet. In addition, at night, you could hear the mice scampering through the walls and ceiling. Both my wife and my mom were kept awake by it. Lastly, the home itself needs work. The wear and tear on the home is quite obvious, particularly with the deck. The deck on the 3rd floor front of home is so rotten it has holes in it. Definitely not safe, particularly if you had small children. Overall, it was a disappointment for obvious reasons. With proper maintenance, the home could be beautiful once again though. We would not rent again until proof of this happened.

Thanksgiving with Family

The house was as described and perfect. This home is absolutely beautiful. Right on the beach and would highly recommend this property. Plenty of room for the my entire family. The Property management company was amazing on their communication. The Location, location, location. Parents stay less than 3 miles across the bridge. They did not have to travel to Raleigh as we did in the past. The home was perfect. Our grown children and spouses thoroughly enjoyed walking the beach each morning. Wonderful experience for all of us. BTS

Could have been amazing, but...

We felt like the property managers took us for granted. At this price point, a property should be nearly perfect. When we arrived, the unit was clean, but the beach-facing windows (especially on the main level) were covered in salt spray. We get its on the beach, but arriving promptly at check-in and seeing it like this was a disappointment. We ended up using the hose on the deck and cleaned the windows ourselves (the view really is grand). Multiple broken light fixtures/burned out bulbs, rotten fruit left in the breakfast nook, standing water in empty plant pots, overgrown weeds in plant beds, and rusted/dilapidated trash can on the deck all took away from a high-end experience. And despite the strange (and highly detailed) requirement to strip linens and put them special bags...there were no special bags available. We do NOT fault the property owners for any of this, rather the property managers. Interestingly though, when I asked the property managers how to contact the owners (so we could let the owners know the managers were failing them)...they would not provide contact info. Instead, they relayed we should leave the feedback with them - so here it is. Phenomenal location/beach; however, if you're going to stay at a property in this price range, then I recommend you look elsewhere.

Lovely Stay

This was a fantastic property for our group of 9 adults. Beautiful home! Plenty of sleeping space and a large common area with sunrise to sunset views right on the ocean. We plan to make this an annual gathering.

Small Celebration

The house is absolutely beautiful. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The wrap around porches were great. Close to everything you need. Would highly recommend for any family gathering.

Panoramic Ocean View

This house takes full advantage of its’ ocean front setting. The friendly neighborhood makes for a quiet beach experience. We appreciated space to accommodate our young married children and our very senior parents and our dogs! Really the perfect place for a family gathering.

A great stay

The house is very comfortable with lots of room, eclectic décor and absolutely killer ocean views. First, the communication from Spectrum (Claudia and Mary Kay) were phenomenal. The renting, check in, and check out procedures were easy. Second, the house itself is wonderful. Enough space and bedrooms for all of us. The crows nest at the top of the house is just amazing as are all the views. The kitchen is well appointed and there are two washers and dryers (and two refrigerators) in the house. The elevator was very helpful in lugging up the luggage and food supplies. We had a great family mini vacation at the property and will be renting again.

Great stay but property need maintenance

We had a wonderful visit. The view from this home is AMAZING. The property is a bit older and needs some repairs on decks, walls, etc. It seems to have beach access for neighbors which is fine, just unexpected to see people walking through the yard. I know it is common in this area for rentals but I hate having to pay for linen services. If you are renting a home for that price per night, linens should just be a given. Overall, we had a wonderful time, kids enjoyed the weekend on the beach and we were glad to have the balconies to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets

Our most memorable VRBO!

We’ve rented many, many properties on VRBO over the last 20 years and this one was by far our favorite. The location right on the beach is amazing; however, it’s the house that is truly spectacular. Four floors of gorgeous ocean and sound views visible via floor to ceiling windows. Each of the five bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom (and the master has two!). Four of the bedrooms have ocean views open up to balconies. There are additional half-baths on both the first and third floors. The kitchen/dining/living area is HUGE and stocked with everything you could ask for. The elevator was a massive help with luggage and groceries, too. As you can see from the photos, the decor is incredibly fun and a continuous feast for the eyes. Each day we found another unique touch to marvel at. Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenagers) and our pup visited for 4 days in late May/early June and we didn’t want to leave. The house gave us way more space than we needed (which we all loved). We could have easily shared it with another family (or even two) and would still have had plenty of room to spread out and grab a moment of privacy. When your moody and picky teens tell you that this is the “best house we’ve ever rented,” you know you’ve found something really special! Additionally, it’s so rare to find such a great property that allows dogs—we couldn’t believe our luck and we will definitely be back!

Great house, no complaints! In a perfect location with a food lion across the street and the house being steps away from the beach. Sleeps more than 10 if needed - there are trundle beds under most of the beds.

Home needs improvements done for the price. Property management comunication and response time when you call the emergency number for water leaking was terrible.
