Hi Jennifer, thank you for your review. As a widow, sharing the beautiful upstairs of my home is how I make ends meet. I wouldn’t rent it if guest noise bothered me. I’m not sure how I can help with some feeling like they’re bothering me other than continuing to tell every guest not to worry about me. It’s your vacation. My goal is for you to enjoy yourselves. Dance until the wee hours, play music. Have a great time! Not much phases me as long as guests aren’t destructive. And, I do travel some myself so I’m not always here. Cheers, Lisa

Travis, I’m sorry you had trouble with the AC when you were here. Why did you not let me know you were having a. Issue? I do set the units at 80 prior to arrival. I’m happy to set them lower by request upon arrival. The AC units work very well. They are more than enough to cool the entire space. With that said, during the hottest part of the day, from 2-5, it’s necessary to keep both bedroom doors open to cool the living room and kitchen, since theAC units are located in each bedroom. Because they are located in the bedrooms, during the hottest part of the day, I don’t use the oven. I typically spend afternoons on the beach or take a nap. I understand many people are used to central air and heat. That’s why I have tips in the unit on keeping the space cool. By following those tips, I can assure you the AC units cool the space very well. With all this said, being cool is subjective. If you are someone who like an arctic temperature in the 60s, this is not the rental for you, as is stated in the property description. The AC units cool down to 70. And, in the hottest part of the day, the living room and kitchen cool down to 74. In order to save energy, I, personally keep my thermostats set on 74-76 but everyone is different and that’s okay. 😀 Again, I’m sorry you had a problem In the future, I hope you will communicate with your host and give that person a chance to correct the problem before posting a negative review that will impact their livelihood due to incorrect information. Unfortunately Yesse's stay did not go well and his review contains false information. I think the main problem was that there was a communication issue because Yesse does not speak English. I do not take deposits on my place, instead guests purchase an insurance policy through VRBO. Since it is an insurance policy that is purchased, the funds for that are not refunded. This is a VRBO policy. So, I did not have any deposit to keep. When Yesse left, I noticed a very strong cooking odor and that some towels were missing. In the past, sometimes guests have accidentally ended up with rental linens in their dirty laundry. When I contact the guest, they generally just send the linens back, When I contacted Yesse, he told me to take it out of the $89 "deposit." My home smells like the beach and the sea breeze - it's a humid environment. The upstairs space is completely separate and accessed through a shared foyer. As for his comment that I "am always watching," that is completely false. I've been renting this space for six years. I want my guests to have a good time - laugh and dance to the wee hours. I truly do not understand his comment about not feeling comfortable coming and going. I'm sorry Yesse jumped to a false assumption but nothing could be further from the truth. This review seems to be "sour grapes." Please read the other reviews to see for yourself that I am a very chill and accommodating host who does everything possible to ensure my guests have a great vacation. Not much phases me as most guests are respectful and responsible people. I'm so very grateful for the great guests and friends I have made over the years.

Sour grapes review. Yelena and her group were terrible guests. They did extensive damages to the property. The toilet seats are white and the blankets are new and clean. The pots and pans are certainly usable as mentioned in other reviews. In fact, they were less than 3 months old during this booking. When they left, the sliding glass door was open with the sun porch windows open. It’s hard to cool a beach house with open doors and windows. She also threw the guest manual in the trash. It was a thoroughly bad experience. Peace and keep on trucking. Lisa

Thank you for your review. I’m glad you enjoyed the location and its proximity to the beach. I’d like to clarify a couple of points for future guests. The air conditioning is capable of cooling the home to 70 degrees. My listing also notes that if you prefer an extremely cold indoor environment, Happy Beach Casa may not be the right fit for you, particularly during the Texas summer. I also don’t advertise Happy Beach Casa as a luxury property. My listing specifically describes it as comfortable rather than fancy because I believe in setting accurate expectations. My goal is to provide a clean, comfortable, well-equipped beach house where guests can relax and enjoy everything Matagorda has to offer. Regarding the refundable security deposit, while not every vacation rental requires one, many do. It helps protect the property while allowing me to continue offering a comfortable, well-maintained home for my guests.
