Awesome Vacation Home

The entire family had a great time. We found everything in great working order. The management company was absolutely fantastic with any questions we had. The location is perfect, very peaceful and beautiful. Mornings on the beach, afternoons at the pool, evenings hanging out on the beautiful porch and more pool time. 10/10 recommend for families.

The location and layout within house are great for family gatherings. When renting a house always suspicious that pictures do not give a clear picture. The house needs some love and attention and updating. Kitchen needs painting of cabinets and replacing and organizing of kitchenware. The appliances were good. The pool has concrete breaking along the edges and black spots on sides and bottom. Bathroom showers should have grab bars. Having gear in garage is an advantage but needs to be sorted and broken items discarded. Sliding doors are extremely difficult to push. The elevator was extremely helpful since we had a family member with mobility difficulties. Outdoor furniture was great. Grill was extremely dirty. Getting it useable took time and effort. Good to have the gas supply. Suggestions are noted to make the Big Kahuna a better place for future guests.

This home was great for a large group with a huge living room/kitchen area and normally great access to the beach. While we were there the beach access was blocked and the host said they knew nothing about a three month project going on. Communication with the problem was terrible and I spent over 1.5 hours on the phone trying to get them and had to get Vrbo involved. It left a terrible taste. The house was clean and is starting to show its age with older furniture and beds that squeak.

Entire family enjoyed the house! Neighbors to the left had fireworks on their property and debris from including smoke came directly on us! Pool cleaners could have been more efficient. They came 3 days before we left. Otherwise beach was great, quiet most days!

Disappointed.

Needs to be updated! Needs: more silverware and stemware. Under kitchen sink needs work. Water everywhere. Floors need to be redone. New construction next door. Now at 2nd floor. No shades in MBR bath. Workers can see right in. Sorry.....our 3rd time at Big Kahuna......so disappointing.

We rent beach property every summer. This summer we decided to rent beach front and pay the difference at Kure beach. At this particular location, the beach was right outside our door, the pool was great, and made it nice for our crew of 8 adults and 8 kiddos. We brought tents and wagons, but never used them, as the kids could run back and forth inside or back and forth to the house as needed. On July 4th, the busiest day of the year, this area was still not very crowded and I cannot tell you how great the sun rise was in my room in the morning! So one mom was pregnant, and we'll have 9 kiddos next year!Most restful vacay in a long time. Bring a book. Bring a cup 'o jo. Leave work behind. We did. We'll do it again. :)

Great property. Could have been cleaned much better. And check out is very early consideration g price for property (10am) and cleaning crew showed up way before then, which was inappropriate. Lots of sand— Everywhere. No one had swept in sometime. Big house so if an area looked tidy my guess is cleaners skipped it. But overall great home and location.

Big Kahuna is not the place seniors need to rent

While pictures don't lie, the ones shown do not accurately show the condition of the property. Much of the furniture (couches and chairs need to be recovered or replaced--torn and stained), Many of the safety features seniors expect when renting property were not in this house. Examples: No grab bars in any of the showers, hand rail going down to the pool was very loose and unstable, there was no handrail going down the steps into the pool and no ladder to get out so anyone a little unstable on their feet would have trouble getting in and out of the pool, the pier to beach had a step and was not painted yellow so coming from the beach it was easy to miss this step down, the last step going to the beach was missing which meant a large step to get to and from the beach, the two story deck was very shakey especially if someone was on the top deck(I don't think it was attached to the house itself). As far as cleanliness, I cleaned all of the cooking utensils because they were sticky and greasy. The little draw in front of the main sink was full of dirty water--I didn't touch it. The fold out couch was full of sand and sand fleas. I was very disappointed in this property and would never rent it again. This was the most expensive and least well kept of the many ocean front places I have rented for our family vacation.

A few bumps, but great house, pool, and beach location

We had a few bumps (Wifi not working when we arrived, construction noises next door), but management company worked to resolve. House is great for large group. Pool is great. Private access to beach great. Nice that you can walk to Kure Beach pier and restaurants. Overall highly recommend.

The location of the house the set up is awesome we have enough room to spread out plenty of privacy plenty of family time together the house is amazing the realtor company the ladies were awesome to deal with this is the second time I’ve been in this house I will rent this house again
