Location of the complex is very convenient. The condominium and resort property were clean. The onsite restaurant, Duke’s, is convenient and good. We did appreciate the cooler and 2 chairs in the condominium. It would have been nice to have an umbrella. We bought one at Costco to use as it was less expensive than renting for the duration of our stay. We were very disappointed that the washer and dryer were not able to be utilized due to a very strong odor in both. We were offered complimentary laundry service but it was still very inconvenient as you had to arrange it before and wait for it to be completed. As a result, we were not able to take advantage of the opportunity to do our laundry the evening before we left. It was raining and would have been nice to have accomplished that.

As a standard, we provide beach chairs and a cooler, but for liability reasons, we no longer provide beach umbrellas, and we’re sorry to disappoint you in this regard. Great Hawaiian Escape

Great location. We spent days by the pool and days by the beach. Close to plenty of shopping, restaurants and more. Great space to unwind and relax.

Perfect family getaway

My husband and I stayed for a week with our 4 yr old. Perfect location, beach out front was amazing- swam with turtles, saw whales and honestly the snorkeling was better here than our tour to molokini. Our son LOVED the pools and the water slide. We cooked and bbq’d most of our meals and the studio was perfect for the 3 of us. We will be back!

Excellent place to stay

Great location and property. Resort is clean, staff is friendly. Duke’s restaurant is very convenient. The studio room was clean and updated. Car rental and grocery store is right across the street, along with food trucks.

Perfect Location

Great facilities, right on the beach, walking trail along Kaanapali great for morning 5 mile walk. Unit was quiet with private balcony. Maui Resort Rentals was excellent communicators. Will be back.

Amazing 40th anniversary stay

This unit was everything and more! We would definitely stay here again. The second floor was easy to get to and the view of the ocean and property was amazing. For a studio it felt spacious and loved the vitamix , coffee maker and Tommy bahama beach chairs. We added a Tommy bahama umbrella. Thank you for a great place to celebrate our anniversary!! Mahalo!

Amazing

My husband and I decided to stay for our anniversary and this place was nothing short of amazing. The property has everything you need! Towel kiosks, Ice machine for ice chests, mini mart on site. The room was super clean and had everything we could possibly need to make us comfortable. The beach was perfect and we even got to see some whales from from shore as well as a turtle who came by. My husband was able to snorkel right off the beach! We will come back for sure!

We had a great stay! Room and accommodations were as described. There was an issue with the AC unit, but the management company took care of with in a timely manner and gave some extra towels (thank you). There are many great options for restaurants within walking distance. We spent our time 50/50 on beach and at the pool. Something we found on the last day when I read the information sheet closer was they offer a free shuttle—> next time we may use this more for dinner :) Thank you for a great stay!

We don't manage a unit 1558 and we have had no reports of a broken machine in Konea 221. We pride ourselves on a high level of guest communication and so we hope that we didn’t fail you. Resort maintenance at 10pm by our room & woke up to hot room every night.

Great location and resort pools are nice. Enjoyed running in the morning on the boardwalk and having our own kitchens so we weren’t eating out every meal. There maintenance workers were cutting into the wall right across from our room at 10pm with loud equipment which woke us up as we go to sleep early and start our days early. The other problem was the thermostat has a pre-set setting and it every night we would wake up sweating at 76 degrees which was miserable.

The central air conditioning at Honua Kai features programmable thermostats and it sounds like a previous guest programmed yours to be 76 degrees during the night. To change this the thermostat just needs to be reset. If you experience this in the future, our guest experience team would be happy to walk you through how to reset the thermostat. We also apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced from hearing some construction noises during your stay. It sounds like this was related to the resort plumbing work that happened over a couple of days during your stay. Again, we are very sorry for this inconvenience. We hope to see you again soon. Great location, beautiful grounds

Overall our experience was positive. Pros: The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Location was great! Amazing snorkeling right off the beach. Our room was was as described with a great view. Cons: Check in was a little confusing. They need better instructions and directions on where to park. Parking was terrible. The parking garage filled up in the evening and so we had to park in the street quite a ways away. Was not great for luggage. Bed was a little hard for us and the pillows were terrible. It would have been nice to have some extra pillows and towels.

We apologize if you found the arrival instructions confusing. If the underground parking garage is full, guests are welcome to park in any unmarked spot on the resort parkway, or in the self-park lot across from the Hokulani Tower. Guests may also leave their bags with the bell clerk for luggage assistance. The Honua Kai does intend to reinstate their valet services in the near future. Sorry to hear you found the beds hard. Absolutely wonderful!

Everything about our stay was 100% wonderful - just as all the reviews outlined. A few tips - 1) Valet is free (built into parking fee) so use it every chance you get especially at night as parking by Konea Tower is very limited; 2) The valet guys are wonderful but build in extra time as it can get very busy and they are short staffed; 3) Turn off the ice maker with a press of a button before bed then turn on again in the morning to reduce noise. If you need anything, just email guest experience and Maui Resort Rentals will respond almost immediately. They will bring you anything you need to your room. Wonderful studio, clean, fully stocked, amazing view from lanai and the resort was beautiful and friendly. We will be back. Aloha !
