This was an amazing property. We have never experienced having an entire beach basically to ourselves. Seeing this island with its true beauty was a once in a lifetime trip!

Amazing view, super responsive host, a beach at your door step, and snorkeling with sea turtles, starfish, even stingrays. This house is a fantastic home base with lots to do at the house - swimming, kayaking, snorkeling with turtles - and even more on this beautiful island.

The house was fantastic. Susan was very attentive and thoughtful. The view it the bay was great and roof top star gazing was gorgeous.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this beautiful house! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed everything was. The home is well-equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable vacation.The highlight was undoubtedly the secluded beach with turquoise blue water. Having direct access to a quiet, pristine stretch of shoreline felt like a dream. We enjoyed morning coffee by the water, watching turtles , stingrays and starfish go by and stunning sunsets. It truly offered the perfect balance of privacy and natural beauty. The hosts were wonderful, responsive, and made sure every detail was taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious, peaceful beachfront getaway!

Amazing home, so relaxing, gorgeous views!

This is an amazing property, so clean and well appointed with everything you need to make your stay comfortable! Susan and Mark were so kind and informative, they really made us feel welcome! We loved using the kayaks and having coffee every morning on the upper deck! We loved every thing about our stay, can’t wait to come back!

Amazing place to stay!

We spent a week at the Lazy Turtle in the end of March and it was a fantastic experience. The house was clean, well maintained and in a lovely location, with a beautiful private beach just across the driveway and a lovely lagoon and canal in the back. We saw turtles, starfish and rays every day and loved the rooftop deck for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets and stars. Susan was amazing, making sure we were comfortable and making recommendations in the area. We could not have asked for a more relaxing vacation, and hope to return some day!

Making memories at Lazy turtle

The house is spacious with modern amenities, perfect for some relaxing days exploring Eleuthera, Dunmore Town or Spanish Wells. We spent our days along the water either snorkeling in the bay or beach combing on the pink sand beaches. Swimming with the fish and turtles were definitely a highlight ( steps from the access to the bay). Stargazing on the rooftop deck was the perfect way to end the day.

This place is beautiful! The master bedroom is gorgeous with views of the bay, very nice to wake up too. Wrap around porch with grill outside kitchen door made for easy dinners. Upstairs porch great for coffee in morning or cocktails at night. Steps to the beach.. we seen turtles everyday! Along with sting rays, starfish and lots of fish. Beautiful sunsets! Really loved this house, Mark and Susan did an amazing job building this and you can really appreciate their attention to detail. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to family/ friends.

Beautiful home and location

House in wonderful location for quiet get-away. Small private beach, kayak, and snorkel near front door. Home very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Wrap around decks on each floor of home w comfortable seating and beautiful views of ocean. If there are supplies etc. you can't do without, bring it - very limited options on island. Great local seafood and people!

Paradise Found

This property and the owners of it are nothing but perfect. The pictures in the listing, as beautiful as they are, don't do this place justice. We spent ten days of peaceful bliss at this beautiful house and could not have wanted anything more perfect. There is no one for over a quarter mile in any direction except for turtles, fish and stingrays. The hosts were extremely helpful anytime my wife or I had any questions or needed any suggestions. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Amazing property!

My wife and I started here for the first leg of our honeymoon. It was exactly what we were hoping for! Secluded feel, amazing views, and super comfortable! Mark and his wife were extremely helpful in getting us set up properly, they even reserved our rental car on the island (which is necessary to explore everything). The house was also well stocked with pots, pans, spices which made cooking in this serene setting that much more enjoyable! Their recommendations and travel guide that gives all the local tips for restaurants, shopping, and water activities was spot on too! We can’t wait to go back!

Perfection

Lazy Turtle made our stay is Eleuthera amazing. The attention to detail in the house is astounding. A breathtaking view every morning and evening from the master bedroom was definitely a highlight. The kayaks were so much fun to use in the bay. Mark and Susan are very friendly and helpful. It was fun to talk to them and get their perspective and insight about the island. If ever given the chance to stay here, do it - you won’t be disappointed!

A dream

We were on the island for a wedding and a much needed break and were lucky enough to find the Lazy Turtle. Hidden away on the edge of the water line its an idyllic place to escape the world. The building is beautiful and modern with everything you could need and the most incredible views. The stunning little beach line is 100ft through the trees and is a dream. Quiet, full of sea life (especially the turtles) and hosts the most stunning views, especially at sunset. If you want to escape the world, be alone with your thoughts and the turtles, this place is perfect.

Awesome stay!

K and I spent a week at Lazy Turtle in August. It was fantastic in every way!! Our questions were answered promptly before we arrived and we were checked on during our stay to ensure everything was good. The home was beautiful in a secluded area just steps away from the water. There was nothing we needed that the home did not have. We enjoyed the porches and rooftop deck and enjoyed taking the kayaks in the canal and around the bay. The bay is home to many turtles. Also saw sting ray and starfish. No need for an excursion to see them. Would we stay at Lazy Turtle again: absolutely!!

Incredible Water

The house has spectacular views!! We especially enjoyed the kayaks that come with house, as the beach & bay are a few steps away! We kayaked most days when it wasn’t too windy. We saw starfish, rays, and had the best sunset views in the bay from the kayaks, or the rooftop deck. The house is lovely and well stocked. Mark & Susan are both very responsive, and they have lots of recommendations for places to go, places to eat. You must have a car, because this house is a bit remote, but there are lots of people around, and a really delicious, fun Bahamian restaurant about 10 minutes away. You’ll also want a car to explore the island! The Bahamian people are so friendly and gracious.

Amazing Escape

We didn’t know what to expect as first time visitors to the Bahamas, but the experience of staying at this beautiful home exceeded anything we imagined. This house is located centrally enough for short commutes anywhere you wanted to go (grocery store, ferry, restaurants, airport) but secluded enough that you feel far away from everything. The private beach is beautiful - we saw stingrays, starfish, and lots of turtles. You can walk a long way in the bay exploring wildlife and sea life or just float for hours enjoying the sun and calm waters. My kids were worried about not having a TV, but surprisingly, they didn’t even realize there wasn’t one. There were so many things to do and we enjoyed family time with games and puzzles. It was a true escape from our usual busy life. Last but not least, the hosts were great. Communication with Mark as we prepared was so helpful and informative. Our greeting and ongoing support from Susan during our stay was top notch. She is so helpful in explaining things about the house and things to do amongst the islands - a great resource and so kind and accommodating. Thank you Mark and Susan for a family vacation we will never forget!

Perfect Location for Relaxing Vacation

My wife and I completely enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Turtle along Bottom Harbour in Whale Point on Eleuthera. this was our second trip to Eleuthera in as many years. Mark and Susan were great hosts and did a wonderful job explaining everything when we checked in on day one. The house is exactly like the pictures, awesome. There is a lagoon behind the property and a quiet beach steps from the front of the house. You feel very isolated and in a peaceful surrounding on all levels of the house. The road to the house off Queen's highway is a little rough, but definitely not an issue if you drive slowly. There is no picture from the house to the beach in front, but it is a great view and the bay is calm most of the time unless the wind is coming from the north. We saw so many sea turtles and starfish I would dare to guess how many. The inflatable kayaks, provided with the home, were great to explore the bay and the lagoon behind the property. The no see'ums could be an issue when it is calm and if you do not wear bug spray, but were not an issue when we put on bug spray. We could not have had a better stay and the owners could not have been better. It is a perfect location for anyone looking for peace and quiet.

The Perfect Island Experience

Out of all the rental properties myself and my wife have visited, the Turtle House is at the top of our list. From the moment we booked, our host/hosts were immediately helpful, responsive, and considerate of our needs and questions. I never factored in the importance of a truly gracious host, but boy did this property change my thinking. Mark, the primary host listed for this property, was traveling during our stay, and we had the delight of being greeted by his partner/wife Susan. She was by far the most accommodating and personable person that we have ever met in regards to out of country traveling accommodations. Both Susan, and Mark, went out of their way to ensure we had the knowledge, confidence, and insight, to explore Eleuthera as if it was our own familiar stomping grounds. Coming to the Bahamas, or any country outside your own can be an intimidating experience at first. Let me just say, any and all queries or concerns were IMMEDIATELY resolved. The home was so clean, you could eat dinner off of the floor. The property so perfectly nestled amongst the palms and greenery, that you feel as though you are lost in the jungle (in only the best of ways). Their private beach, and rooftop deck offer the best view of the sunset that you could imagine, with gin clear waters just beyond your doorstep. Don’t bother booking a turtle excursion, as less than 500ft down the beach is a literal sea turtle sanctuary, where dozens of turtles call their happy home. The perfect stay.
