We had a wonderful stay and created so many special family memories here. The cabin is absolutely amazing, offering breathtaking views, easy beach access, and a fantastic location. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and exploring the beautiful beaches of Eleuthera. It truly is the perfect place to disconnect, relax, and soak in the natural beauty—plus, we loved how quiet and uncrowded it was during our stay!As with many remote islands, future visitors should plan ahead and bring along their absolute essentials, as local availability can be limited and prices are a bit higher, though it didn’t impact our trip at all.Thank you, Mark, for being such a great host. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

Great location and wonderful views. The cottage had everything we needed. Communication was easy, people on the island were friendly and helpful. It was a perfect trip!

Awesome stay at Shorebreak cottage. You cant beat the views and the vibe. Total relaxation in a rustic yet comfortable cottage with all the amenities. We werent able to swim or hang on the beach due to the waves but still enjoyed hanging at the cottage vs driving to other beaches in the area but there are many options. Mark was a great host and provided a treasure trove of recommendations.

We had a wonderful stay at Eco Cottage at Shore Break and would absolutely recommend it — 10/10!Communication with the host was excellent from beginning to end. The cottage was very clean, exactly as described on VRBO, and had everything we needed to get our vacation started. The directions were clear and easy to follow.The kitchen has a good-sized refrigerator, stove, and sink. There is no oven or microwave, but we honestly didn’t need either one during our stay.The view is absolutely spectacular! The ocean is beautiful, but definitely respect it — the waves and undertow can be very strong.We enjoyed every meal we had on Eleuthera and found plenty to see and do. One thing to be aware of is that August through October is their off-season, so quite a few restaurants and businesses may be closed. Even so, we were able to find everything we wanted to do.Most of our vacation was spent exactly how we hoped — relaxing, reading, enjoying the incredible view, and simply enjoying each other’s company.We loved our stay at Eco Cottage and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful Eleuthera getaway.

We had a truly magical week at Mark's home. Mark was responsive and helpful in planning our trip, making excellent recommendation and connections on the island. His property manager was also very responsive throughout our stay. You will not find a better view and peaceful vibe anywhere on the island. Thank you, Mark!

The host was great. Good communication. He even reached out to check if we needed to stay longer due to significant inclement weather on the east coast. The accommodations were exactly as described. Could have used toilet paper and coffee filters but we figured it out!

The house overlooks the ocean, and the view and sound of the waves are very pleasant. You really feel immersed in nature.However, the beach shown in many of the photos never appeared at any point during our stay. Swimming below the house is simply impossible, as it is extremely dangerous among the rocks and waves — and, once again, there is no beach.In addition, the amenities and overall condition of the house are nowhere near what we would expect for the price paid: clutter and belongings stored throughout the property, packages being stored on site, old and uncomfortable camping-style furniture, a makeshift outdoor shower, a cockroach in the bathroom, bathroom doors that do not close, and one bedroom that is barely usable because of the noise and heat coming from the solar transformer.We paid over 600 per night during the low season, so we were very surprised and extremely disappointed with the overall experience. We cannot recommend this property.

The listing discloses that the beach can come and go depending on weather conditions. Despite every guest having my personal cell contact, we were first contacted by this guest via email after the second night of their three night stay. Despite the late timing, we immediately offered to send our caretaker to the property but the offer was not accepted. We take feedback very seriously and will continue to strive for positive guest experiences as can be seen in the vast majority and lengthy history of our reviews.

The location and view were absolutely amazing. The house is on the Atlantic side so the beach waves can be intense which we knew going into it. The amenities were pretty bare (no paper towels, one roll of toilet paper, no extra trash bags, etc) So we did have to go to the store just to cover the basics. You have to haul your own trash out as well. Mark the host had fantastic communication and sent a PDF with a ton of information. We loved our stay overall

The view is spectacular and the waves were beautiful. The cottage was very cozy, has fans and AC (which we barely used) and hammock was a favourite with our kids. Very quick drive to Gregory Town to Unka Gene's restaurant and convenience stores. Loved it!

The owner provided a really good list of things to do, expectations, and contacts. His referral for rental cars (Robert Thompson) and his wife were great resources for the island. They also own a local burger place in Gregory town that is super good.

A slice of heaven

Amazing spot and a beautiful home. Everything went perfectly, from checking in to leaving. The views are incredible and the place is beautifully secluded on the edge of cliffs overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The surf spot is close by and I managed to get some great waves. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be back

A little slice of paradise

We enjoyed five nights at the property & never lost excitement of the view when we walked out on the back porch. What a stunning view! Perfectly located so that we were able to explore multiple areas of the island. The host(s) suggestions for the stay were spot on - from car rental to places to eat. Oh my gracious! ShoreBreak Cottage was phenomenal! If you are looking for a stunning location to disconnect and recharge this place is perfect! The description provided in the listing perfectly describes the place. We slept with windows open listening to the waves crash! The sunrise was amazing! We used the grill on the nights we ate at the house. ShoreBreak Cottage is the perfect location for anyone looking for an ecolodge to escape and have an adventure! Plus, the location is a short drive from town, gorgeous beaches, and more. You need a car and an adventurous spirit! I can’t wait to come back!

Great Escape!

We had a fantastic stay at shore break. The cleaning lady had not shown up before we got there, but the owner was very quick to make it right! Short trip down a dirt road with an incredible view. The night sky is incredible as there is almost no cultural lights.

Unfiltered and fantastic

Stayed for a week at Shorebreak with a family of four. Everything about the house, the location, and the proximity to surfers beach was fantastic. The view and falling asleep to the ocean every night is amazing. Not one issue with living off the grid and the kids were able to surf every day with a short walk to Surfers Beach. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, simple vacation to reconnect with your family.

Shorebreak was everything we hoped for and more!Mark was an incredible host and provided a tremendous amount of information before our trip. From the check-in process to recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and local attractions, everything was thoughtfully covered and made our stay seamless.The house was even better than described. There are more beautiful beaches on the island than we could possibly visit during one trip, and most of them we either had completely to ourselves or shared with only a handful of people.We never turned on the air conditioning once during our stay. Instead, we opened the windows, turned on the fans, and enjoyed the constant ocean breeze while listening to the waves breaking below. The views from Shorebreak are absolutely spectacular.Most evenings were spent relaxing on the deck, watching the stars, and taking in the peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect place to unwind and disconnect.My only regret is missing a message from Mark while we were there letting us know he was on the island with his family. I would have loved the opportunity to meet him in person!We will definitely be back and look forward to exploring even more of the island, its beaches, and the great local restaurants. Thank you again, Mark, for sharing your amazing home with us!

Architect

My wife and I stayed here recently and loved it! Exactly what we were looking for... secluded, off the grid, with an incredible landscape and it's own private beach. Surfers beach is also just a five minute walk and Gregory town is only a five minute drive if you need supplies or a night out. Easy access to Harbor Island and Governors Harbor as well. The house is well furnished, new and very clean and the owners were very accommodating. We will definitely be back!
