Velkommen til Honu O Kai (Turtle of the Sea). Bare to miles fra havet gør dette rummelige, fire værelses hjem til et af de bedste steder at bo på Big Island. Beliggende i en 700 ft højde giver det behagelige vindvindvind. Det store soveværelse og de bageste soveværelser er begge udstyret med væggeenheds klimaanlæg for din komfort. Hjemmet sikkerhedskopierer en stor ledig ejendom, der oversættes til fred og ro og er et af de bedste steder at bo på Big Island efter en dag med udforskning!

The pool was awesome we used it everyday. The house was everything we wanted and more. Everybody had their own space and bathroom. We would highly recommend this house and told our friends and daughter who is a travel agent.

We had a wonderful stay here as a family of five. The location is excellent, with easy access to central Kona, essential groceries, and the road to Hilo. The house has stunning views of the water, and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets every evening.The home had plenty of space for our family and was well stocked with the basics we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry area. We also really enjoyed the pool. All five of us are strong swimmers, so the depth (12 feet, if I remember correctly) was perfect for us.One thing to be aware of is the steep driveway. It wasn’t an issue when the weather was dry, but our vehicle wasn’t 4WD, and on rainy days the climb can be challenging. If you’re visiting during a wetter season, this is something to keep in mind.We visited in August, when the weather was quite hot and muggy. Our only significant gripe was that the main living area does not have air conditioning. It gets stuffy fairly quickly, and cooking makes it noticeably warmer. There is a central exhaust fan in the main bedroom, but it didn’t do much to cool the main living space, so we found ourselves spending most evenings downstairs.Hurricane Lala also passed through while we were there, and the property management team did a good job staying in touch, providing updates and keeping us informed about precautions we should take.Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location, views, space, pool made it a great fit for our family.

Beautiful Setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house in Holualoa. The view from the decks were stunning. Every night we gathered to watch the sun set and every morning we enjoyed the quietness of watching the ocean become alive with boats and people. Our only disappointment was that we had to leave.

Wonderful home, fabulous family vacation!

This house was perfect for the 7 of us. Kids loved the pool, amazing, changing night lights! Beautiful view of the coast and ocean from main floor and upstairs. Coffee on the lanai every morning was best way to start the day. Convenient to everything north and south. House was exactly as described and as photos represented. We’ll be back!!

Great Home For Families

The house was equipped with everything needed during our stay. Very spacious and roomy. The views are amazing! The only complaint from some family members, we're from those who stayed in bedrooms that did not have an in-wall AC unit. Management was nice, and were quick to resolve the minor issues we had during our stay. Overall, GREAT property. Definitely recommend for big families.

Great House. Great View

Perfect house for 2 couples. Pool was awesome, we wish the pool cleaner hadn’t been in the pool the whole time. But we made it work. Plenty of space outside. We loved all the outdoor living upstairs and down. We even had access to the garage for parking!!

We had a great time with our adult children! The house is set up for good times with a beautiful, warm pool, pool table, corn hole, games, bar, tvs and great outdoor spaces. The view is amazing as you can see the ocean for miles. The lower level has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom with comfortable beds and air conditioning in each bedroom. The upper level has a master bedroom with large ensuite, power room, large kitchen and living room. We had relatives come for supper and easily sat 8 at the table. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to cook including a great BBQ on the back deck. The area is very quiet (other than the noisy frogs in the evening) and there is a large green space behind. The driveway is very steep (a little scary the 1st time driving up) and they could use a few more plates as we had to run the dishwasher after every meal as we were out of pates but otherwise no complaints! We loved every moment we spent in this wonderful home and would recommend it to everyone!

Great house rental

House was as advertised -- AMAZING views, great pool, nice big living room with ample dining and hanging out space. Pool/play room downstairs was nice, too. Only constructive feedback is that the kitchen is not as nicely appointed as it should be (quantity and quality of cooking tools, with pots & pans in short supply and poor condition, too few glasses and barware, 1 cutting board, etc.), and the pillows are flat and hard as rocks. But overall, a great property. We'd rent again.

Perfect Kona Home

This beautiful house is in a stunning location up on the hillside with a panoramic view of Kailua-Kona and the ocean. Its elevation means that temps are several degrees cooler than on the coast and a wonderful breeze cools the house. The property is extremely well equipped, clean and well-maintained. Balconies, the deck and pool make it an ideal place to relax and take in the view. Kona is a short drive down the hill with all its amenities. Communication with the property manager was easy and responsive. Wouldn't hesitate to choose this property again and reccommend it unreservedly.

2023 visit

Beautiful well appointed property with great pool. Window a/c in bedrooms are old/loud, but due to property elevation/location they weren't needed during the evening hours. The driveway is steep and narrow so best to arrive during daylight hours. Kitchen is well stocked and it is in a very quiet neighborhood. Requests/questions were promptly answered. Thank you. Fabulous view of entire kona area.

Million dollar Views

We enjoyed our stay very much! The sunsets were breathtaking every day. The home was equipped with everything we needed from plenty of beach towels to kitchen supplies. The gifted Kona coffee ensured we all left with a new love of the coffee from this area. The home was clean and spacious. There were 8 of us and we never felt like we needed any more room. We had an issue with the fire alarms and the property manager was over right away to help fix the issue. The pool was a welcomed treat every night. Can't wait to come back!

Perfect space for a large family

This was the perfecgt space for our famiy for a week. Seven adults, lots of provacy and places to either be together or if someone needed privacy, there were many options. 4 large bedrooms, 3 baths. Master suite is lovely with wonderful views. The pool was great to return to each afternoon after the beach or site seeing. I think I counted 13 ceiing fans to help keep the air moving! Large living room and dining area. Kitchen allowed multiple "cooks" to all be working at the same time. Lots of pool and beach toys in the garage and a large washer and dryer.

Perfection in Paradise

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Turtle of the Sea was the perfect house for our groups vacation. We had a total of 9 people 6 adults and 3 children under the age of 12. The view from the house is perfect, it was a great way to wrap up a day at the beach by coming back and watching the sunset from the balcony. The house was clean and actually has 2 living rooms and 2 kitchens. It was a 5 min drive to the nearest beach as well as shopping. I would absolutely stay here again! Wish I had more vacation time!

Perfect House for Our Family

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property was just as described, even more lovely than the photos. The bedrooms and baths were perfect to accommodate three couples and three kids. We watched the sunset every night from the upstairs lanai--beautiful! We liked being up above the town--a lot quieter than Ali'i drive. It was a great spot to launch our explorations of the various beaches to the north and south of Kona. The managers were very responsive and kind to give us a code to enter the house an hour early when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this property. Thanks for a great stay!

Hawaii Wedding Vacation

We absolutely loved our stay at the Honu O Kai! What a beautiful view! We were in the area for our daughter’s wedding so we really didn't spend as much time at the house as we'd liked to have, but the time there was always relaxing. It was very nice to take a dip in the pool after a long day of wedding activities. We appreciated the items made available to us during our stay including an ice chest, sand toys and beach chairs to name a few. Next time we're in the area, we'd love to stay at the Honu O Kai again.
