Carrie's Cottage was more of a budget property than we anticipated and, unfortunately, it didn't feel like our home-away-from-home during our 6 night stay. The good: the location! The proximity to the beach is awesome and there is plenty of beach stuff to keep kids and adults occupied. The house is a 10 minute drive from everywhere we wanted to be: restaurants, markets, bars, activities. The deck area is really nice and spacious. The primary bedroom and studio bedroom both have comfy beds and nice en-suite bathrooms. The bad: the living area, kitchen, and shared bathroom were sorely lacking. The shared bathroom has one towel rack, 6 feet up on the wall opposite the shower. It's not helpful and there's nowhere useful to hang bath or kitchen towels. The ugly: it wasn't clean enough for us to feel comfortable. There was sand on the floor, and the couch and futon did not feel clean or smell fresh. One of the tub/showers had that pink mildew on the wall, which we get happens, but we would have appreciated it being cleaned before hosting. Carrie's Place may be suitable for a couple nights but not ideal for an extended stay.
