Sunset Cottage on Pillar Point

Come to the shore of Lake Ontario to relax in the gentle breezes and enjoy beautiful sunsets. You will have the whole cottage that features an open floor plan, full bath, and one bedroom with queen size bed. The common area has a twin size day bed. The kitchen includes a range, refrigerator, and microwave. Outside, sit on the deck to relax, swim in the lake, or kayak. The property is located on a dead end lane, quiet for reflection and contemplation. Nearby attractions and activities include Golf, Antique Shop, and Ice Cream Shop. The towns of Chaumont, Cape Vincent, Clayton, and Sackets Harbor are within a 20 mile radius for library, museums, and points of interest related to the War of 1812 and the shipping industry on the St. Lawerence River. Wise Guys Itialian restaurant in Chaumont is a popular option with locals and visitors alike for a fine meal. Very relaxing with gorgeous views

We loved our stay! It was so relaxing, the home was great, and we loved watching the lake and enjoying the gorgeous views. We definitely plan on another stay in the future.

This is a fantastic spot to listen to the waves and enjoy the summer breeze off the lake, really everything we had hoped for, a charming lake house on the water, with stellar views over the lake in a beautiful quiet spot. We loved our stay, enjoyed swimming, kayaking in the provided boats and cooking in the equiped kitchen.

What a beautiful cottage! We were met by the owner and she made sure we were all set! You will not get these views anywhere else. We are already planning to go back again next year!

Sunset Cottage is amazing!

We stayed at Sunset Cottage for a week, and every day was amazing. The hosts are so kind and the cottage was clean and welcoming. We will definitely stay there again the next time we’re in Dexter.

Perfect!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and very well stocked, it was very quiet and relaxing. The sunsets were spectacular! Carol and Pete were very friendly and had a bottle of wine, eggs and 1/2 and 1/2 for our coffee. Definitely I would go back!

Peaceful Paradise

Great location away from city life. Spectacular views of Lake Ontario. Comfortable and nicely decorated. Equipped with everything needed for our weeks visit.

A beautiful, peaceful location

Our stay was brief this time but we hope to visit again in the future. The cottage is perfect for a restful getaway and well outfitted. Our host was very attentive and we felt quite at home. Thank you Carole. Sunsets were gorgeous!!

Rest and recharge in this beautiful location.

A true Gem! We enjoyed everything from the moment we arrived. Cottage was clean and well kept. Had everything you could possibly need. Hosts just lovely. Cannot wait for our return trip next summer.

Carol was a wonderful host. She met me at the Cottage as she likes to meet all renters, plus to answer any questions I might have as to the cottage. She made sure that the cottage was open and ready for my staff. She had left a bottle of wine and a dozen farm fresh eggs. The interior of the cottage is exactly as the pictures, along with the outside. The location was perfect for a week long vacation (could not have asked for better weather). Carol provided helpful information as to local restaurants and placed that I might want to visit. Overall, I would highly recommend the Sunset Cottage on Pillar Point for your next vacation. You WILL NOT be disapppointed.

A lovely, peaceful getaway

The cottage was charming and comfortable. A gorgeous, serene location. We enjoyed a quiet, peaceful getaway for our anniversary-- exactly what we were looking for. Carol and Pete were fantastic hosts, helpful, welcoming and unobtrusive. The sunsets were stunning. We had fun riding the bikes (provided by hosts) along the lakeshore. If you are looking for a fun, quiet place to de-stress, this is perfect. Highly recommended!

Escape to the Lake

There is nothing like my yearly trip to Pillar Point with the beauty and serenity of Lake Ontario. Having my own cottage this summer down the road from family made it an excellent vacation. This location was perfect for its proximity to Windmill Acres as we were attending my niece’s wedding during our stay. If you like to cook at home, the kitchen had everything I needed. Thank Carol for being an excellent host!

Sitting on the edge of the mighty Lake Ontario, the cottage surpassed our expectations. It's both very beautiful and comfortable, making the most of the space without making us feel crowded. The furniture is solid and capacious. The beds in particular left us refreshed, which, in a world of worn out, rock hard, or warped mattresses, is really saying something. Kayaks and inner tubes, along with life vests, are on hand. Flowers line the cottage and attract butterflies. The fridge came filled with basic essentials and fresh eggs. All in all, Carol anticipates renters' needs down to the fine details and made us feel warmly welcome. We can't wait to return!

The best little cottage on the lake!!

We greatly enjoyed our stay! Carol was very accommodating, had everything we needed ready for us. The cottage is beautiful, the view cannot be beat, full view of the lake right from the living room and the bedroom. The cottage is fully stocked with everything one might need, including coffee, water and local teas, tons of towels, extra blankets and bedding, s'more supplies and fire starting kit. The area is beautiful and quiet, lots of deer, bunnies and ducks for little ones to see. We went kayaking early in the morning as well (kayaks are provided). Will recommend this place to all of our friends and family!!

Anniversary Weekend

Our stay at this charming cottage was so memorable! This is the place to go to experience a peaceful, quiet and relaxing stay. The cottage sits right by the lake and includes two kayaks, Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and boasts a spectacular view of Lake Ontario and such beautiful sunsets! 🌅 You can clearly see the stars too on a clear night ✨ The hosts were very welcoming and even provided some food like oatmeal and eggs. The cottage also has everything you need to cook or grill outside. We will be coming back for sure! Let this be your sign to book!!

Relaxing and Beautiful

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this beautiful rental. It is a perfect location right on the water. The hosts provide all the amenities you need and were very thoughtful to provide a bottle of wine and cheese upon arrival. And, eggs and yogurt for breakfast along with a snacks, peanut butter, oatmeal, coffee and creamer, etc. I have stayed in several VRBO rentals over the years; this is the first that supplied so many extras for their guests. I highly recommend this cozy rental. (Oh, and the gorgeous sunsets.... just beautiful.). Perfect place to unwind.

Fishing 2024

Spent a few days at Pillar Point cottage with my wife. The place was perfect! Beautiful cottage inside and out. Couldn’t get any closer to the lake. Private deck for cooking and relaxing. Picnic table to sit at and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The hosts were very nice and a pleasure to talk to. They were very informative. Giving us alternate places to launch our boat in the area. Also a good location. Close to many attractions and very good dining. Two 👍👍! Thank you for your hospitality …. ✌️

Great place to get away from reality. Beautiful water, kayaks, sunsets, along with comfy beds. It was very clean and well cared for. Many amenities and events to attend in surrounding areas.
