This listing is located in the Midwest where, at this time of year, it’s dark out at 4:30-5p. There wasn’t even an exterior light on; so much so, that I accidentally walked into a “12 month rental” unit the owners also have- while they were eating dinner. That was embarrassing, even though the renters were kind about it. “This happens all the time, we can show you where to get in” failure on the Vrbo host’s part. Room was clean, bed was comfortable enough, but their dog growled & snarled at ours from underneath the shared entry, which set our dog on edge. This space is not what I’d call “pet friendly”. There was no stove or eating utensils, as advertised. The shower pressure is enough to take your face off.Lastly, the heating unit is so loud that you can’t sleep. Our last night, it sounded like it was gargling glass / rocks- we thought it was coming from outside somewhere, as it had snowed; maybe someone was snowblowing. Nope, it was the HVAC. Everytime it clicked on, my husband, myself, and even our dog, coughed and sneezed. Finally, at 1am we shut it off- that’s how annoying it was.Addressed it with the owner when we checked out. Their response? “Why didn’t you let us know sooner so we could make it right?” “It was installed new last year” (lie) Make it right? At midnight? Yeah, okay. These people are cheap and couldn’t have cared any less. If you enjoy waking up to kids shrieking, dogs barking, a blender running- you’ll have a great stay.

The room was very clean. Exactly as listed, and perfect for our short stay visiting family. Room was very comfortable, and well stocked with all the essentials. We appreciated easy communication with the host, Marca. She also provided a pack & play and bag of toys for our 17 month old, which he loved. Would definitely recommend & stay again!

Drove in very excited. Changed into my costume. Walked to the pool - pool is covered in black lots of bugs and l was told it was closed all summer when l asked host who was quite rude. Property is expensive and falsely advertising . I called and ask for options and was told l can only get 50% refund. Vrbo couldn’t help me. Spent over an hour negotiating with the rude host who had lied on their listing . This was my first time using Vrbo and I believe my last time. In the end I was given a full refund after 7pm in a city l don’t know. I met 7 deer on my way to find alternative accommodation as a young female lady traveling alone l was so disappointed and scared. Please remove the pool from your listing . It’s not honest .Please also add Netflix as an option texted asking for Roku pin which l did not get.After check out host called saying he noticed some blood stains after l peed. I am sorry that happened but no one ever wants to voluntarily leave a drop of blood.ln the rush of packing and checking myself out after over an hour of asking why l am being punished for their false advertising l may have not noticed that after l peed there was blood and l am sorry but this place was a nightmare.

Lovely relaxing place to stay outside the bustle of Madison. We appreciated having real cups and glasses available as well as bottled water and a few snacks too. The screened in gazebo is a treasure. It was great to be able to park right outside our door too.

Nice to have a place that accepts dogs - nice yard to take the dogs for walks. Room was fine, but there was a lot of dirt/grit on the floor when we checked in; we asked for a broom and swept it ourselves. The room also felt musty/muggy the entire visit event with AC running. The advertised pool was closed for maintenance the entire visit. The overall rating would be "okay."

This is a wonderful place to stay. It has everything you need and is not too far out of the way if you’re looking for things to do.

Country quiet close to town

Perfect size and location for visiting friends and family. The view of the valley is delightful. The unit is attached to the main house but has its own entrance. Clean and comfortable, the room was a bit like a private hotel room in the country. It's a short drive to Verona, Mt. Horeb or to Madison. I brought my dog, who loved the large yard and visiting the nearby dog park.

Exceptional Hospitality!

The location was rural but very close to town. The room had a separate entrance and I felt very welcome even with my two dogs. It was a very cosy arrangement and there were a lot of thoughtful additions such as a clean bathrobe and (brand new) slippers. There was even an extra dog bed if I would have needed it. I really enjoyed my stay.

Peaceful Stay

Very comfortable bed. The host had nice little touches to ensure guests are comfortable. Check in and check out was easy. We felt safe and secure. The ride into Madison was not bad at all. We would stay again.

Very secluded area of farmland -Nice

The property grounds were very nice... felt much like being on a farm. Here are some improvements that would be helpful to guests The lighting at your door and your parking spot is not good if you arrive at dark which we did. There is a code box which required you to have your phone flash light on to see properly. On one communication, we had a code with four digits. On another communication we had a code with five digits and on another we had 5 digits with a # at the end and another said 5 digits with a * at the end. So, in the dark our attempt to get in was very frustrating. They provided two bath towels for a four day stay.. at least one more would have been nice. The Keurig coffee maker did not work and it is a long drive to Starbucks! The room could use a bit more lighting. Dogs did bark early in the morning in the adjacent part of the building or outside somewhere.The water in the refrig and snack items were a nice addition. Overall it was a good experience.

The room was nice with the big window offering natural light and a beautiful view of the surroundings. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was stocked with essentials and had nice plush towels. The host family was very friendly and accommodating. A very serene, comfortable spot to end a long day of traveling.

We have been hosting guests for 6-years. Our studio is attached to our house w/ a private entrance. We have three daughters and two dogs. We also have an apartment attached to our home w/ a full time tenant and her daughter. I grew up in the home since the 80's and know a lot about the area and all it has to offer.

Hilltop sunrises and sunsets are a joy to witness! The serene area we reside in is tucked between Madison, Middleton, Verona and Mount Horeb- convenient to everything but far enough removed for peace of mind. Vistas of pines, oak savannah, big skies, neighboring alpacas, and rolling hillsides are good for the soul!

The home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and was constructed in the 80's. My parents added on the studio and apartment. The area is in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin known for its signature rolling hillsides w/ peaks and valleys. The Sugar River runs through the lower section of our 8-acres. About halfway down the hill sits an Amish built cabin constructed in the 2000's as a writer's shed. We have a large screened in gazebo around the back of the home that we welcome our guests to enjoy.
