BEAUTY AND THE BEACH is a luxurious 5-bedroom beachfront mansion located directly on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico on North Captiva Island. This private, car-free island is only accessible by boat or private aircraft, which makes every visit feel like a true escape. Nestled among palm trees, beach dunes, and pristine white sandbars loaded with beautiful shells, Beauty and the Beach’s tropical location is second to none. With sleeping for up to 17 people and three king master bedroom suites, Beauty and the Beach can host your next family vacation, reunion, or even wedding (fees apply). North Captiva is a private barrier island off Florida’s Gulf Coast. No cars, no bridges—just uncrowded, natural white-sand beaches with incredible shelling and wildlife viewing. Because North Captiva is boat-access only, your property manager and personal concierge, Shally’s Seashells Property Management, will guide you through the logistics of island travel. Shally’s will assist in selecting ferry or private charter options, greet you at the dock upon arrival, and transport you and your luggage/groceries to the home. Pre-stocking the kitchen (highly recommended) is also available. You’ll also receive a private island tour and full orientation of the house amenities.

Great place and location!

We love the low key atmosphere of the island. This home is private and large. It has plenty of space and amenities. Definitely stay here again!

The view is amazing!

I don't think there is a better property on the island. The pool is very private. You are a short walk from the beach, and the sunsets are breathtaking. This property has it all!

The best!

Multigenerational vacation was amazing ! They have done amazing work to get the island back up and ready for vacationers after Hurricane Ian. We hope to come again!

Great Stay!

We had a great time at Beauty and the Beach! Very spacious house. Pool provided many hours of fun for our family. Proximity to the beach can’t be beat! Lots of beach towels provided. Shally’s did a great job supplying groceries ahead of time. While it seems expensive, it definitely makes arrival easier. North Captiva is so fun if you’re properly prepared!

First off, this home really is amazing! The location and views are unbeatable and it's what made our stay as amazing as it was. We didn't see any other places on the island with these views. That alone may be reason to stay here, but... there are things to be aware of. The home is clearly neglected, which makes sense now that we've seen it's for sale.1) the pool was dirty and not on when we arrived. The pool pump wasn't even running and there was stuff left in the pool from the previous renters. I let the host know and they sent someone out 2 days later but our stay was almost over.2) there is a serious winged ant infestation in the master bathroom. I don't mind some bugs but this was BAD. They were clearly nesting somewhere in the shower area and when we tried to wash them away they started showing up an hour later. 3) the first night all of our guests did not have hot water to shower. They did send someone out the next day who fixed it.4) the house water is not Reverse Osmosis like we were told - at least the well system isn't kept up with. The water tasted funny and leaves a slimy feeling on your skin which RO water doesn't do. We checked and there was no salt in the system (if you know RO you know this is important). 5) I am used to other platforms where you communicate directly with the host on the app and response time is important. It was hard to figure out who to communicate with here and it was via email which took a week to get answers most times.

Thank you for recognizing the home’s incredible location and views. We’re glad those were a highlight of your stay, but we would also like to clarify a few details for future guests. The guests arrived on a Saturday following a severe storm, which deposited sand and debris into the unscreened outdoor pool. The pool pump operates on a timer and was functioning properly. The pool company services the property on Tuesdays, and they arrived on the regularly scheduled service day and confirmed that the equipment was working correctly. The insects observed were false blister beetles, not winged ants nesting inside the home. These outdoor insects periodically swarm on the island and are highly attracted to light. They had gathered near the illuminated windows in the primary shower and can enter when exterior doors are opened. We were notified Sunday morning that the home did not have hot water, and someone came out and restored it that same day. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused. The home is not advertised as having whole-house reverse-osmosis water. It has dedicated reverse-osmosis drinking-water faucets at the kitchen sinks. Salt is used by the water-softening system and is separate from the RO drinking-water system. Both systems are professionally maintained by a third-party water company. Regarding communication, the guest was advised in June to contact the property-management company directly and was provided our contact information. On the day of arrival, we also contacted the guest through our dedicated text line, where approximately 26 messages were exchanged during the three-night stay. The fact that the property is listed for sale does not mean it is being neglected. We responded to the concerns reported to us, coordinated the appropriate service providers, and also offered the guests a late checkout on Tuesday. We appreciate the feedback and will continue working to provide guests with a comfortable stay in this truly special beachfront home.

Best Spot on the Beach!

Such a beautiful property for a weeklong get away with friends. Tons of space and a great view of the beach and beautiful blue water. Shally’s Management was outstanding and took care of every need! Highly recommend this house!

Beauty And The Beach Review

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Beauty And The Beach. There were some initial issues due to Hurricane Debby, but they were ironed out before our arrival. It's a great location with a short private walk to the beach and a nearby sand bar. Our granddaughters loved the pool. Communication with the Property Managers could have been a bit better.

We’re sorry for any concerns caused by Hurricane Debby before your arrival. Our property managers worked hard to address these challenges, offering to adjust your travel dates to avoid any weather-related disruptions. Communication is a top priority for us, and our property managers were in touch with you promptly before your stay. During your visit, we were informed of two issues: a leaking water valve outside, which was promptly addressed by the water maintenance team on island, and a minor water leak from the AC vents. While the AC unit itself was functioning properly, we scheduled the repair for after your departure to ensure minimal disruption to your stay. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for an even better experience.

Beauty and the Beach is a beautiful home!

We enjoyed every second of our stay. We had 3 families with a total of 15 people. There is so much room in this house that we never felt crowded. The location has amazing views, the pool was a perfect place to cool off after a beach day. We loved having two golf carts to be able to sight see around the island and easily take fishing and boating items to the boat. No complaints here! If we had any items come up, property management was quick to respond and take care of things. I highly recommend this place and we will be back!

This location is fabulous. The view is stunning regardless of the time of day. You can see the sun rise on the Sound and set on the Gulf. The house was clean and everything that was promised stated was provided. The property management company was very helpful and responded expeditiously to a couple small issues we needed addressed. Our grocery order was packed to perfection, and every item was delivered. The elevator was greatly appreciated. It made getting our bags in and out a breeze. I do suspect the pictures used to advertise this house are probably from shortly after completion in 2013 as the owners have not maintained this property. It’s worn and in need of repairs. North Captiva is stunningly beautiful with clean beaches full of shells not people. The Island is quiet and peaceful. The lack of traffic and remote location is a great respite from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. It's really a special place with a plethora of wildlife both in and out of the water. Take bug spray and sunblock. It was a lovely week spent with family albeit the disappointing condition of house.

This is a beautiful property. Our family really enjoyed it. One of the golf carts was very slow so we only used it when we had to. Lots of gardening going on while we were there so sometimes loud in the mornings. I definitely recommend having groceries delivered and put away like we did. The kitchen is on the top floor and although there is an elevator just make your life easier, you're on vacation. The top floor does not have blinds on all windows, so you catch the heat from the sunrise and the heat from the sunset, so I recommend just keeping all the blinds closed throughout the day and try to avoid going in and out the doors during the sunlight upstairs. We did find several fans towards the end of our trip. I would go ahead and get those out and have them running on the top floor. Again, beautiful house and we would visit again. The property host was great at responding quickly when we couldn't find something or something needed fixed.
