Welcome to Auntie's Cottage — a bright, charming, custom-built retreat in Shallotte, NC, perfectly positioned between two of Brunswick County's most beloved beaches. Ocean Isle Beach is just 10 minutes away; Sunset Beach is 15 minutes. Both offer clean, uncrowded stretches of sand that are perfect for families, couples, and groups who want to get away from it all.

Built in 2020 and thoughtfully decorated with comfort in mind, this two-level cottage sleeps up to 8 guests across four bedrooms: one king, two queens, and a twin room. The open-concept main floor keeps everyone connected — the living area, dining space, and fully equipped kitchen flow naturally into each other, with large windows bringing in coastal light throughout the day.

Outside, the screened porch is your private oasis — set up with tables and chairs for morning coffee or evening drinks. The BBQ is ready for cookouts, the outdoor shower handles sandy feet, and outdoor games keep everyone entertained. The property is situated in a charming bungalow community with a community park featuring a stunning 100+ year-old oak tree just steps from your door.

You'll also have access to the community pool — perfect for cooling off between beach trips. Calabash, known as the Seafood Capital of the World, is a short drive away and is a must for fresh coastal dining. Myrtle Beach, SC & Wilmington, NC are only 40 minutes away for a change of pace.

We offer seamless self check-in via smart lock, high-speed WiFi throughout, dedicated workspace, and a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for a comfortable extended stay. This home was amazing! In a very safe neighborhood and only a few minutes from Ocean Isle Beach. Also easy to get to Sunset and Holden Beach. We enjoyed the comforts and safety features of this home. There is also a small community pool that the kids used when we weren’t at the beach. The outdoor shower was perfect to wash off sand before going in the house. Plenty of good restaurants close by, although we made a few meals at the house. The house is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils etc. Our favorite part of the house was the front porch. In the evenings we saw deer every single evening just across the street in the backyard meadow. There’s a river walk in Shallotte. It’s very nice in the evening. I can’t say enough good things about this home & Shallotte. This was a very memorable, relaxing, fun family vacation.

Wonderful Stay

We had a very nice vacation with our family. The house was immaculate and stocked with everything you can possibly need for your time away. The décor was beautiful. We definitely felt pampered. I give Jumpin Java in Shallotte 5 stars. Their iced coffee is amazing.

Clean and Cozy

This property was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable and it was extremely clean. We never felt unsafe or anything but happy in Auntie’s Cottage. The owner was quick to respond and very kind. The screened in porch, sweet neighbors, quiet neighborhood, quaint decor, layout of the house, stocked up goods, (we could go on and on) all made this place one we would go back to in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Brand new and very comfortable

This house is in a very nice new development. The house feels brand new and is very comfortable and very nicely equipped. The owner even left a nice welcome basket with snacks, soft drinks etc - nice touch!! It’s a quick 8 min drive to OIB beach.., very close to grocery stores and overall nice location and not as busy/crowded as staying closer to the beach. We had a great time! Awesome house and great experience!

We had a very good experience at Auntie's Cottage the house was very stocked and clean. They have just about everything you could needs from kitchen items, to towels & beach towels, extra blankets, etc. The house is very conveniently located to 3 different beaches, all are which are wonderful. The community pool was also very nice & clean & where we spent most of our time! Rashad is not kidding about the friendly neighborhood, you get a smile and a wave every time you walk or ride past. Coming from a small town, its nice to see the same friendliness somewhere in a larger place!! We really enjoyed our stay & hope to be back some time.

Immaculate and well stocked

The checkin process and checkout process were super easy. The house was new and in excellent condition. Rashad had the house stocked with snacks, bottled water and soda which we appreciated! It was also well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and everything else we needed! The house is about 11 mins from the beach. We plan to come back!

Everything about the home was beautiful. It was extremely clean and well stocked with all of the essentials from kitchen supplie to linens. The beds were super comfortable with plenty of space to place clothing. We loved the screened-in back porch...perfect for eating meals without disturbance from bugs. Neighbors were very friendly when taking the grandkids on morning /afternoon strolls. Stephanie was a great help with all of the questions we had. We would love to book with Rashad again for out next visit.
