Family fun in the quiet north end of Sandbridge. After a day at the beach, come home to relax in the private pool, soak in the new hot tub, hang out by the poolside cabana bar, or enjoy a drink on the cozy screened-in porch. Cook dinner in the fully appointed kitchen and eat local seafood on the large deck, or drive into Virginia Beach and experience the night life there! Ideally located on a quiet dead-end street and within a short walk to the beach, Three Little Birds is a classic Sandbridge Beach cottage that has been expanded and updated to maximize relaxation and family fun. The property includes 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a cozy living/dining/kitchen area with flat screen TV and DVR, plus two outdoor entertainment areas: a new deck and screened porch combination attached to the second level living/dining area; and a landscaped yard that includes a pool, new hot tub (fall, 2025) poolside cabana bar, covered porch, patio, and lawn. This is the perfect setting for making memories with your family and friends! Sandbridge offers easy access to several parks, farmers markets, restaurants, and shops, plus everything Virginia Beach has to offer. The Virginia Beach Oceanfront entertainment area, including the famous 3-mile boardwalk and parallel bike path, is a 25-30 minute drive.
Please note we do not provide towels, sheets, or pillow cases. The bed configuration is 1 King, 1 Queen, 4 Twins, and 2 Pullout Full Sofabeds. The beds have blankets/covers and pillows. Linens can be rented at Moneysworth Beach Equipment & Linen Rental.

This home is very nice. It is well maintained, clean and has everything to make your stay comfortable. The front porch was my favorite place to relax, very cozy and plenty of seating. The hot tub, pool area and cabana bar are great and also have plenty of seating for everyone. My family had a great time here.

Really well-done beach house a block and a half from the ocean with great amenities to include a cabana with TV, large pool, and a new hot tub. The house was extremely well stocked and equipped with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The host is fantastic, easy to communicate with, and very responsive to any needs you might have while on premise. They provided very helpful information on the area (restaurants, entertainment, house information, etc.) and were generally great to work with during the booking, check-in, stay, and check-out process.Our family of four could not have enjoyed our week stay more and we will definitely look to book again!

This is a great house! It’s only a short walk to the ocean—Sandbridge Beach is nice and quiet compared with the built-up parts of Virginia Beach. The backyard pool and bar were a huge hit with our kids. The house was stocked with everything we needed—we both ate in and dined out in the area. Would definitely recommend this house for families and anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

Family Beach Trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Three Little Birds! The screened-in porch is an ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee. The kids particularly loved the pool, and we appreciated the beautiful landscaping surrounding the house, including the cozy sitting area under the house.

Chris did a fantastic job renovating this home! I took notes and photos!The cabana is breath taking! The decking with lighting for each stair! The home design and material's spectacular. Also everything u need!We very much hope to be back! Also lovely foliage and flowers! The star ratings keep wanting to fall off? I gave it 5 stars for every category!

Great Stay in Virginia Beach

We recently stayed at Three Little Birds and had a fantastic experience overall. The property was beautiful, well-maintained, and offered stunning views of the surrounding area. The house was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were friendly and responsive, adding to our positive experience. One aspect to note: we had to bring our own sheets and towels, which was a minor inconvenience. It would have been even better if these were provided. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Three Little Birds and would recommend it to others looking for a relaxing getaway. Definitely a place we'd consider returning to in the future.

Off season getaway

We love Sandbridge, and love it even more in the off season! No crowds, No minimum stays, and increased chance of snagging a choice property on shorter notice. 3 little birds was no exception to our tradition of off season excellence! Such a spacious and charming property! Super short stroll to the beach and a short drive to lots of family friendly destinations! Quiet neighborhood, lovely indoor/outdoor flow with a screened in porch really allowed us to enjoy the cross breeze and escape the mosquitoes! Comfy beds, fully stocked toiletries and kitchen essentials, and very responsive hosts. This stay was the perfect end cap to summer, my kiddos happily welcomed a final outdoor swimming opportunity since pools at home closed on Labor Day! Bravo Chip and Mary!

Great location!

This property was perfect for a long weekend getaway! It was walking distance to the beach and we really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again!

Vacation

The outdoor area was spot on considering how little the area was. The screen porch was a great addition to the main living area of the house. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The beach buggies were great along with all the beach accessories. We had a wonderful family vacation.

Perfect Family Beach Vaca

Our extended family visited Sandbridge for the first time this past week, and we will definitely return. This rental was both cozy and luxurious, and truly is equipped with everything that you need for the perfect beach vacation. The hosts are kind and helpful...thank you fora wonderful, relaxing week!

Perfect getaway

We loved our stay at 3 Little Birds. We loved the pool and all of the decks and the screened in porch (which was necessary because the mosquitoes were crazy at night)! My husband and I thought our bed was super-comfy, and my mom and older daughter said the other beds were comfy, but my boys said the bunks were a bit squeaky and not very comfy. Don’t forget to bring your sheets and towels because they are not provided. Overall, I recommend vacationing here!

Fantastic property

We loved 3 Little Birds! The home was perfect for our family of 6 — plenty of bedrooms and lovely outdoor spaces. The walk to the beach was very easy and quick, and the provided beach cart made carrying all of our stuff a breeze. We have made plans to return next summer. A note: There is a very heavy wooden table attached to the wall in the kitchen (like a Murphy bed.) During our stay, the weight of the table was only held by a small hook-and-eye latch like you might find on a door or cabinet. My daughter didn’t realize the latch held up the table, and when she curiously lifted the latch, the table crashed down. It bruised/scraped her arm and shoulder and could have seriously injured someone if they’d been in the path of the table when it fell. The incident also caused damage to 2 panels of shiplap behind the table. I immediately messaged Chip and described the situation and offered to pay to repair the wall; he quickly replied that he would assess the damage and get back to us. Before communicating with us what he found or getting a professional opinion on the cost of repairs, he fined us $500 for the table damage and additionally for replacing plastic hot tub latches that were broken when we arrived. In summary, please don’t hesitate to rent this beautiful home, but be aware that the table is a safety hazard and that VRBO policies allow a homeowner to unilaterally assess damage charges with no recourse for the renter to appeal.

Chip and Mary were very responsive to any questions or needs! The home is very accommodating and a great time! The house is cozy, equipped with many games, books, hot tub, pool bar, pool, corn gole boatds, fire pit, etc. all which are a great idea! I look forward to booking in the future. The only recommendation I have is regarding bringing your own towels and sheets. When we received information a few days before our stay, I notified that information, I wish it would’ve been under the house description! Minor, and not a huge deal! It was easy to grab those items and enjoy our stay! Thanks again chip and Mary! I look forward to renting again!

We lived in the DC area for 24 years and raised 2 children there. We are now based in Richmond, VA, but love coming to Sandbridge for rest and relaxation, especially when our children or extended family or friends can join us.
We purchased the property in 2019. As soon as we walked in during an open house, it felt just right and we fell in love with the house. We could instantly picture ourselves spending time there with family and friends. We loved the cozy feeling of this classic Sandbridge beach cottage, but it had also been updated and expanded and was large enough to accommodate groups of up to 10 people.

The house is located on a dead-end street in the quiet north end of Sandbridge Beach within a 5 minute walk to the beach. This is exactly what we were looking for location-wise: close to the beach, but also a quiet family-oriented setting. The north end is a perfect neighborhood for walking, jogging and bike riding. Traffic is limited to those who live or are staying in the area. The speed limit is 25 mph, so the streets are generally quiet throughout the north end (although they do get busier in the summer time).

The most unique aspect of the property is the outdoor living space. When we purchased the house, there was a unique covered porch with a seating area and hot tub. We added a pool, poolside cabana bar (with 55” smart TV), and extensive landscaping, so now it is a larger and even more appealing and inviting outdoor space for the whole family. We also replaced the hot tub with a brand new Mira 6-person hot tub in fall, 2025.
The second outdoor area that we love is the second level screened porch and deck. There was already a large deck when we purchased the house, but we replaced the (aging) deck and added a screened porch. This provides another appealing area to gather, have a drink, or prepare a meal using the gas grill, and enjoy time together.
