A swimming pool was advertised but it was an empty above ground pool that hadn’t been cleaned in several years!! A fountain was broken and in disrepair!! We will never stay there again even if it was free!! It’s nowhere near the beach let alone be able to see it!! John B

We had a relaxing (Mother's Day) weekend stay in the private studio suite at Eric's beautiful home. We were in the area for my cousin's wedding weekend - in both downtown Los Gatos on Friday and at lovely Saratoga Springs for the wedding. Easy access to both events and close enough to shoot over Hwy 17 to have breakfast and browse before the wedding on Saturday. We had traveled from Sonora, and were grateful for the comfortable serene setting Eric's place offored. You may wish to bring along a couple of folding chairs if you want to sit inside at the drop leaf table inside the studio. Otherwise, sitting/laying on the bed is perfectly comfortable.

Cute place, great location

We enjoyed our brief stay here and loved the beautiful view. Host was helpful in providing directions to get to the property.

Quaint and cozy

Amazing views from the back porch. Very easy to check in and check out. The property is beautiful. Lots of great places nearby to eat, drink, or grab a cup of coffee.Would recommend.

Eric was very welcoming and helpful at the beginning. However, when I asked about coffee, he said there was none because previous renters had taken it.

Staying in the hills of Los Gatos

We had a wonderful stay at Eric's lovely home. The view is not to be believed, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We hope to return as soon as possible. Thanks Eric!

Loved this place! The property was very cozy, clean, quiet and had an amazing view from the unit and property. A great place to just chill yet was about a 5 minute drive from Downtown shopping and restaurants. The kitchen was very handy in case you wanted to prepare a meal. The owner was very nice and communicative. This was my first time at this property and I will definitely will be coming back!

The place has a lovely view of the city lights and is on a beautiful hillside. It's quiet and peaceful with easy access to downtown Los Gatos. Los Gatos is a quaint small town set in the hillside of the Santa Cruz Mtns. 30 min drive in either direction gets you to the heart of Silicon Valley or the coastline beaches of Santa Cruz. The sunrise out the windows is gorgeous. The queen size bed was very comfortable. My only suggestion would be to stock the kitchen with a few more pans for cooking and some storage containers for leftovers. I prefer to cook most of my meals, but the proximity to wonderful restaurants means you don't need to. I recommend Oak and Rye for the best pizza around. Restaurant Asa has a great menu of a variety of food. And the best sushi is Shiroi ( sp?) that is down Los Gatos Blvd in the center with Garret Station.

Beautiful property, very quiet, and peaceful, it was a very clean studio, and host Eric was nice and had good communication. Convenient to downtown Los Gatos and the Mountain Winery where we saw a concert.The kitchen was well equipped, with allot of kitchen gadgets, but could have had more actual utensils, pots, pans etc for cooking. I admit I did not see the video walkthrough of the place, but the pictures showed it having a sofa bed and a bed, it only had a bed. I thought I was staying somewhere with two beds, so my daughter and I ended up bunking together; but the bed was very comfortable. FYI-There are some funky mini steps leading into the unit and in the hall leading to the kitchen, my open toed sandals caught on them both, I ended up falling going into the kitchen. Also, there is no place to sit in the unit, unless you pull out some fold up chairs or sit on the bed. But the view outside on the patios is so nice you won’t care. Parking was a challenge for the larger SUV I drive, be sure to back into your spot, unless you want to do an 8 point or rosk hitting a wall turn to leave. Despite some of the challenges, the place is a nice and peaceful getaway. Just wanted to share a bit more about the experience, so people understand what they are booking; it is a nice place. host was nice.

The perfect time out

Already a fan of the hacienda style homes, just one of the many spots on the property was a cozy little tiny rustic home. The view spectacular above all noise. to seen the moon perfectly over the hills with city lights below. With gifted sounds of nature around you. Once you are acclimated with area, you had plenty of nice easy finds for breakfast, delis art, boutiques in the town of Los Gatos or even Saratoga. Appreciated the responsiveness of the owner. Would visit again.

Located off a steep, treacherous hill, the room was dark, old and dingy. The host did not greet us on arrival. We had to figure out where the door to the unit was. We were left to figure out parking (which was crowded and really too small for the number of cars there) on our own. There were no signs or welcome notes. The sheets were worn and the blankets old and musty. Same with towels. The bed was so worn out it had a well in its center. The floor was clean but every other hard surface felt grimey. The bathroom was old, definitely not clean around the sink. There was used bar soap there with a black hair on it—gross! The shower handle was broken off and jammed back on its fixture so the handle just came off in your hand when we tried to turn on the shower. This did not work for us. This was discovered the morning after we arrived. The owner never said he was sorry nor made any effort to check it out. As it was Saturday, he made no offer to do anything about it. Not at all instantaneous, but we did communicate with the host about WiFi and shower. He responded by email very curtly. He did not seem to care, and our impression was that he thinks his offering is quite adequate for the price. We differ in opinion and think what he offered is not adequate for VRBO or the price.Pictures of the patio look good in photos but was dirty and the furniture was old and dirty. The pool’s above ground, empty of water and filled with construction materials.We do not recommend property/host.

Address listing was incorrect ( it’s “road” not “drive”) so took an extra hour to find location because host wasn’t accessible except by message. Once we were able to reach him he was very curt and somewhat dismissive instead of helpful. Location was as shown on website but the interior had a lot of items that showed it was”lived in” ( long hairs in bathroom, groceries in kitchen storage, very old, used kitchen items- dishes, glassware). One winding road to location was scheduled to close the morning of our departure- we were unaware and had no idea how to bypass- would have been nice if host had made us aware of road closure because it’s a somewhat private residential area, the residents were certainly made aware of this, however our host did not make us aware. Pet friendly

Upon arrival I was told to move my vehicle from where I parked it because of others needing to park. I moved it twice, because the owner told me in a ride condescending manner. I ended up during my stay, parking in the same space that I was told to move from when I first arrived, because of the tight parking that was available. It is not appropriate for the location. The kitchen was dirty. The stove had grease all over, the available utensils where a Hodge podge collection, they're was no pots or pans for cooking available, the oven was filthy with burnt food. There was an ant and spider problem. The bed sank in so bad like it was a giant pillow. The bathroom had left over items from previous people. A couple of condoms in the medicine cabinet, along with a dirty used deodorant stick, a rusted fingernail clipper, a plastic bottle filled with unknown dirty looking fluid, a couple of hair dye boxes, used raiser, and other odd stuff. The outside of the property was left had trash all around it. The outside patio furniture was aged, sun baked and dirty. It was not like in the photos at all. I would advise that no one rent this property. It was a horrible stay. Not worth the drive it took up the mountain to get to. I have pictures of it all. I didn't leave because I had a funeral to attend to that was going to be over the next few days and couldn't find another place to stay in such short notice.

The road up to the place is winding and dark and narrow. No directions for the television. Communication with host has been awful. Shower was broken and the fix was 'play with the handle'. Had a family emergency and needed to cut the trip short (son had a seizure), requested a credit and I am still chasing it down.
