Katahdin Cabin Rustic Romance + Indoor Hot Tub Near Town

This spacious 2-bedroom 2 bath retreat will be sure to relax you the minute you walk in the door.
With many outdoor spaces to hang out, firepit & indoor hot tub you may never want to leave!
There is a screened in porch where you can lounge or grill your dinner and just outside that is an outdoor porch for amazing bird watching! There is also a lower deck with a porch swing that makes you feel like you are one with the Forest.

This is the perfect space for a romantic get a way, family trip our invite another couple!
There are two large king size bedrooms one with ensuite.
If you want more of a family trip an air mattress is provided for the extra little ones you might bring along.
Please let us know if you will be needing the air mattress or bringing more than 4 people.
There are even some games to keep you busy.

The property is yours to roam. You could pick a different area to lounge every day, there are plenty to choose from. Screen porch, hot tub, firepit or one of the amazing walking trails just outside the door.

Dogs are allowed for a $75 fee each dog. Please announce at time of booking.
Absolutely no uninvited guests or pets without prior notice.
If these rules are broken, you will be asked to leave.

There are so many wonderful, easy walking trails through the Last Resort neighborhood. There is a map of the trails listed under pictures or there is a map in the cabin with the welcome card.
All wheel drive car is best, but a 2-wheel drive is ok too. Depending on the season, sometimes the roads can get a bit bumpy or some washing out. For the most part they stay in pretty good shape.
A Little Note From Nature
During late summer and fall, you may notice spiders and webs around the cabin. They are harmless and natural to Blue Ridge, and webs can appear quickly.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was just as expected from the description and pictures. The decor was unique and very cute/quaint. It was also a short drive to Blue Ridge. Overall, we would recommend this cabin and would stay here again.

Very homey, rustic cabin in a beautiful area. Pay careful attention to the description. It IS rustic, with lots of special touches such as mountain style decor, taxidermied animals, a hot tub with its own cozy room, and even a popcorn maker. We found the inside to be very clean, with modern appliances and pretty much everything we needed in the kitchen. There is a nice outdoor screen porch, which is where we spent most of our time. It was not as clean as the inside, but the owner is already taking care of that. Part of the road to the cabin is a very uneven dirt road so don't be surprised. We ended up doing okay with the road. Very peaceful, quiet and private.

House was dirty. Decks haven’t blown off since fall. After we swept up all the dust bunnies it was a quiet, enjoyable weekend. Take a truck or higher SUV as the road getting in is very rough.

There was only one minor glitch. The hot tub had a leak somewhere and was not full enough to have consistent pump performance. We experienced it as best we could. Everything else was great and we had a really good time getting reacquainted with Blue Ridge.

We had a great time on our girls trip!!! The cabin was so comfy and cozy and felt like home! The cabin had everything we needed to relax! It was secluded just enough to enjoy nature but a simple and bumpy ride into downtown Blue Ridge! While in Blue Ridge we took the train ride which was wonderful. Our dog had the best time too discovering all the nature around him and being able to cozy up by the fire on his bed afterwards!

This cabin was perfect for our purposes. We wanted to step away from the normal daily grind and relax and enjoy the natural world. I spent most of my time on the screened porch and loved feeling the breeze and watching the squirrels play. The home is completely clean and comfortable. Ready for almost anything you can imagine. The owner is very thorough and thoughtful in the things you need to know and in anticipating the things you may want or need. He is very kind and responsive in communication. Wonderful trip and wonderful memories.

READ THIS: DON'T STAY HERE!! I rented this cabin for my wife and I to spend a relaxing weekend and celebrate our 30th anniversary. Opening the door we were greeted with the smell of moldy/musty odor. Figuring it was due to being closed up, we turned on all of the fans and tried to air it out, which we thought we did. After a couple of hours went to dinner and returned to the smell once again. Tried to use the indoor hot tub, which was the primary reason for staying here, only to find the smell more intense and low on water by 8-12 inches. 1 jet sprayed water straight out across the tub, which made the experience irritating, disappointed we went to bed. Contacted owner the next morning and explained that I would refill. She explained where the water was located, I tried only to find that no water would come out. I was instructed to call the cleaning individual, who was close. She told me the hot tub had been leaking for weeks and the owners did not want to fix, but would come by after 2pm, it was 10:51 am and we had an appt at 12pm. I was not interested in telling people we were leaving, for safety reasons, so I asked the owner for a discount instead, She offered 70 on a 600 bill or the cleaner could be there in 5 mins, which would not happen. We left for the day only to return to the offensive odor...we packed up and left at 9:45 pm. The owner will make a lot of excuses, in reponse, none of which are accurate... DON'T DO IT, THEY ARE NOT PREMIER HOSTS.

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your stay, especially during your 30th anniversary celebration. However, we want to clarify what actually happened. When you contacted us about your concerns, we responded immediately and offered to have our maintenance and cleaning team come to the cabin right away. Our team was approximately five minutes away and ready to inspect the cabin and address any issues. You declined to have anyone come at that time and instead requested a discount right the way. We offered you a $70 adjustment as a gesture of goodwill, or the option to have our team come immediately and take care of the concerns. But you want more. Regarding the odor you described as “moldy/musty,” we have not found a mold or mildew issue at the cabin. This is a natural log cabin in a humid mountain environment, so there can be a natural wood or earthy smell, particularly in a log cabin setting. We would have been happy to personally have our team inspect the property immediately, but you declined that option. You also mentioned the $600 reservation amount. Please understand that the approximately $600 shown on the reservation is not the amount we receive as hosts. Taxes, VRBO/platform fees, and other charges are deducted from that amount. The full $600 does not go to us. We also want to address the repeated concerns raised during your stay. We made every effort to respond to each concern and offered immediate assistance. Unfortunately, you declined our offer to have our team come to the cabin and instead want discount only. We respect that every guest has different expectations, but we believe it is important for future guests to hear the full story. We stand behind the cleanliness and maintenance of our cabin and will always do our best to address legitimate concerns promptly and professionally.

What a great location for a relaxing stay in nature. The cabin was very clean and felt homey. The view is incredible and the cabin very near so much to do. Definitely visit the town of Blue Ridge. I recommend taking some time to enjoy the hot tub and sitting on the screened in porch to let yourself experience the nature that surrounds this home. The hosts have a beautiful home in a majestic setting that dares you not to relax and connect with nature. We only had one minor issue with lighting the fireplace. We messaged Lance and he responded immediately (less than 5 minutes). Any place can have an unexpected issue pop up but how the host responds can make all the difference. 10/10 for our hosts.Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

Nice cabin. We did enjoy our stay. We did have an issue where our dog found a mouse stick strip. Of course we did not realize it was under the bed—paw got stuck on it which we were able to remove. The really bad thing was that there was a dead mouse on the stick strip. We did remove and place in garbage—but that was a bad vibe from the start of our visit. Thank you for allowing us to use your cabin.

This property is as described. The last part of the road to get to the cabin is one lane. We didn’t sit on the swing due to a huge spider web. We could not use the hot tub due to being overwhelmed by the fumes. We tired 3 times to air it out but it did not work. The chemicals were so overwhelming we were coughing and choking. We had to go outside to breathe. Inside was nice and cozy but not as clean as I expected.

We canceled due to air conditioner and hot tub not working

Arrived at beautiful cabin A/C and hot tub not working. Would not be repaired for 3 days (due to holiday weekend), thus received refund. Had to stay in a hotel for the rest of the week, not happy 😒.
