Jennifer's Cottage Room in Summerland, CA was a cozy little refresher. Trees and vines make for an intimate green space (check out the pictures.) Jennifer's was my getaway from noise, cement and traffic in LA. Great for a single or a couple. Summerland, California is a nice little sea side town just minitues from Santa Barbara. There are a wide variety of activities in the area, sun and sand, surfing lessons, vineyard tours, horseback riding--something for everyone. Just go and enjoy yourself!

Jennifer’s room is in a great location in a quiet part of town. Zero road noise and there area many coffee and restaurant options are nearby. It also comes with free classes to a cycling studio and wellness center!!Future renters should be aware this property does not have AC (only heating), which was not disclosed in the listing. When asked about renting a portable unit, the owner responded unprofessionally by commenting they “do not control the weather” and that it wasn’t going to be available until the following day.Overall, it felt small for two adults and the owner’s unprofessional response will leave us looking for another place to stay next time we visit Santa Barbara.

We did want to kindly clarify a couple of things for future guests reading this review. The home does not have air conditioning, which is disclosed in the listing prior to booking. We completely understand that having AC would have made your stay more comfortable, which is why we offer portable AC units as an optional add-on for guests who would like additional cooling. These units do require delivery and setup by our team, and unfortunately, given the time of your request, we weren't able to arrange delivery until the following day. We certainly wish we could have accommodated you sooner! We're also sorry if our communication didn't come across as warmly as intended. We always want our guests to feel heard and taken care of, and our goal is to be as transparent and helpful as possible when it comes to our homes and the amenities we offer. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience and are glad you were able to enjoy the neighborhood and some of the wonderful things Santa Barbara has to offer. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us!

Santa Barbara weekend

We loved our stay here! It was a little cramped with our 3 year old daughter but it was very cozy and was perfect for what we needed as we stayed pretty busy and didn’t spend much time in the room.

Cozy weekend vacation spot

This cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway to Santa Barbara. I would definitely recommend for any couple looking for a place to stay near Santa Barbara. Summer land is also a very nice little town

We had a wonderful mini getaway staying in Jennifer’s room. We truly enjoyed the scent of jasmine trees on the patio and the beautiful views from the window. It was such a pleasure to have our morning coffee while watching the sunrise — a perfect, peaceful start to the day.The location is fantastic — within walking distance to great restaurants, cozy cafés, bike paths, and the ocean. The host is friendly and always easy to reach.We highly recommend this place for a romantic weekend or a relaxing short vacation

Fantastic stay! The place was clean and quiet, and the location couldn’t be beat. Our dog enjoyed it, too. Adain is a great host and very easy to communicate with. We’ll definitely return. Thank you!

Very cute, small but very efficient room that was perfect for my dog and I. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed the coffee in the morning and the shower/bathroom had everything I needed. I particularly loved walking the neighborhood and town of Summerland in the mornings.

Summerland visit

We really enjoyed our stay! The area is so lovely and our rental was stocked with everything we could need from wine glasses, beach chairs and towels, bowls, plates and flatwear. The only slight negative is that the room is smaller than the photos suggest. worked for us!

So comfortable!

I was impressed that Jennifer’s Room was in a lovely upscale neighborhood. Upon arrival I walked my dog and was welcomed by 3 neighbors. I felt so safe and comfortable in Jennifer’s Room. It was a perfect place for me and my dog, Grace O’Malley.

Hmm, this is a cute space for one person, also a couple. The problem we had with this unit was the amount of stuff everywhere, and lack or airflow. The picture makes the room seem reasonable, though small. When you arrive, it’s clear someone has jammed in as much decoration and stuff as possible. Don’t need more than a frig, coffee maker and beach towels. The rest of the space should be reserved for smart storage of guest items. Table tops should not be cluttered with tchotchkes from Ikea. Toaster completely unnecessary in this size room. Summerland is cute and walkable, easy distance to Carpenteria and SB. Neighborhood is lowkey and very walkable. There is apparently only one operable window in this unit, which makes warm temperatures tricky. Nice, friendly helpful manager. Bath Linens are barely above your cleaning towels, think Motel 6. If you go with the right frame of mind, it’s all good.
