Summary:

Casa Marco, by Calm Cove Rentals, is a five-bedroom, three-bath vacation villa in the heart of Marco Island, Florida, built for two or three families travelling together - family reunions and multi-generational trips are its specialty. It sleeps 13 across eight beds, sits a seven-minute drive from South Beach public access, and is a one-minute drive from Publix, a pharmacy, banks and restaurants.



The backyard is where the days go. There is a heated pool, a private putting green, a basketball court, a propane barbecue and a screened, mosquito-netted game lounge with a television, ping pong table, darts, corn hole and lounge seating, so the evenings outside are as comfortable as the afternoons. Four bicycles and a full set of beach gear - chairs, umbrellas, a beach wagon and towels - are included.

- Bedroom 1: king bed with ensuite bathroom (shower and tub)

- Bedroom 2: bunk bed plus a single pull-out, ideal for children

- Bedroom 3: king bed

- Hallway bathroom (shower and tub) shared by bedrooms 2 and 3



Downstairs

- Bedroom 4: king bed off the main living area (no bathroom of its own; the suite bathroom and the upstairs hallway bathroom are the nearest)

- Bedroom 5: the in-law suite: queen bed, pull-out sofa, kitchenette and its own bathroom (shower only). The suite connects to the house through the main entrance and also has a private entrance of its own.



Living areas

An open kitchen stocked for a group of 13 - plates, glassware, cookware and small appliances for a crowd - with dining for everyone, a large living room with a big-screen smart tv, smart tv in every bedroom, fast Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, washer and dryer, central air conditioning and balconies upstairs. A high chair, a pack-and-play and a box of toys are provided for younger guests. Guests regularly tell us the house is better in person than in the photographs.



Location

Marco Island is compact: restaurants, the marinas and both main beaches are a five to ten minute drive. South Beach public access is seven minutes by car and Tigertail Beach 11 minutes; many guests rent a golf cart locally for getting around the island. Naples is about 30 minutes away. After booking, guests receive our local guide to restaurants, beaches and things to do.

Everything you need for a nice stay! My family thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities at the home, along with the quick drive to the beach. We will definitely be staying again soon!

Host was great, location was great, very accessible to everything in Marco Island. There were a few things about the house we didn’t love but it served its purpose well and has all the amenities necessary for a group in their 40s to enjoy. Just need more coffee pods next time!

Overall, we had a good stay, and the host was excellent to work with. Communication was prompt throughout our visit, and whenever we had an issue, the host responded quickly and did their best to address it. We also really appreciated that the home was well-equipped for families, with plenty of baby gear and toys for the kids, which made traveling much easier.The home itself is a bit dated, but it was functional and had what we needed.The biggest downside was the mosquito situation which seems to be worse in the house versus the rest of the town. This made it nearly impossible to enjoy the outdoor spaces, which was disappointing since those amenities were one of the reasons we booked the property. We also experienced mosquitoes inside the house and ended up purchasing multiple mosquito traps to make our stay more comfortable.If the mosquito issue is addressed, this would be a much more enjoyable property, especially for families looking to spend time outdoors.

Host was responsive. No trashcans in bedrooms which was inconvenient. Pool was dirty on arrival and cleaned the next afternoon. House was clean upon arrival.

Lovely stay at Casa Marco

Our stay at Casa Marco was really nice. House was very clean and spacious. Nice bathrooms and the kitchen was stocked with all the cookware we needed. Fun pool and game area! Host was very responsive!

A true Gem!

We were on the island for a Mother/Daughter weekend getaway. 2 teens and 7 women. The space was perfect. The backyard and pool area kept us well entertained day and night! The kitchen came stocked with all we needed to cook and enjoy a night in. Our host was so kind and friendly! Communication throughout was excellent. I would just note to bring extra towels for a large group if using the pool.

Huge disappointment

We had high hopes for this property, however 3 of our 4 days the pool wasn’t clean enough to swim in. In our second day they locked the thermostat, it was so hot an miserable upstairs that we couldn’t sleep at night. Also, the house layout was very strange. The downstairs is open to the outside, no way to lock the pool area/gameroom and luckily we have older kids so they were still able to sleep in the downstairs rooms. Otherwise that would have been an issue as well. There were also two doors that would not lock.

We're extremely sorry to hear about your experience: Pool Cleanliness: The storm on your arrival day caused the pool to be dirty, a common issue during Florida summers. We aim to keep the pool in excellent condition and regret that wasn’t the case. Thermostat and HVAC: The HVAC system was affected by the storm and high heat, which has since been fully replaced to prevent future issues. House Layout: The layout is as described in our listing. We understand it might not suit everyone, and we apologize if it wasn’t ideal for you. Security: We have addressed the issues with the doors to ensure better security. We appreciate your input and hope to host you again under better circumstances.

Good, but Milton shortened our stay

We had planned a four-night stay that got shortened to two nights due to Hurricane Milton. Given that & the rainy weather than proceeded Milton, we did not get to take full advantage of the property. Other thoughts from the group: 1. House has lots of space. The number of bedrooms & bathrooms was great. My teens loved not having to share a room. Spacious common areas were comfortable. 2. The games (pool table, darts, newly installed putting green) were a plus & things we were able to do in spite of rainy weather. 3. While not walkable to beach, drive is direct & easy. 4. Grocery & drug store are < 1/2 mile. 5. It's on a major road which we didn't expect but we were early enough in the season that it wasn't an issue. 6. The pool was smaller than expected. We didn't use it due to the weather, but it is more for a small group standing around or little kids. I swim laps for exercise & the teens like to play pool games which we would not have been able to do. 7. Weather didn't allow for a lot of it, but the decks on the second floor were nice to view the water across the street & the backyard. 8. My octogenarian parents were a little uncomfortable with the stairs. There is a railing & the steps are wide, so I think it was more their issue than something wrong with the house. Just mentioning it in case you have folks who don't like stairs. 9. Communication with host was outstanding, especially given the circumstances regarding Milton.
