When arriving, you will step inside to a sunlit Nantucket-style beach cottage with glowing hardwood floors. The open living room has a six-person gray sectional with ample seating around a 54in TV and a gas fireplace. Blue walls recall the ocean, skylights let the California sun in, and a jute area rug adds to the beachy feel.
A dining table seats four below an elegant chandelier, with the newly remodeled kitchen just beyond that is stocked with all of the essentials you will need for meal prep during your stay. You will love the 'Beachy' vibe found throughout all living spaces of the home. Laundry facilities are located at the back of the kitchen as well.
The first bedroom has two twin beds and an adorable boat theme. An en-suite bathroom has blue walls and white wainscoting with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a king bed with botanical linens, a double-door mirrored closet, a bureau, and a sitting chair. Sliding double doors lead to the third bedroom, furnished with a queen bed, a comfy couch, and a 22in TV. Another door leads out to the kitchen. A roomy full bathroom in the hall has a tub/shower combination.
The backyard is a refreshing private patio that is bursting with gorgeous vegetation, while the jacuzzi offers a place to relax and soak up some rays. Have dinner outdoors at a dining table for six -- the grill is nearby, and if it gets chilly, there's a heater to warm things up.
With the beach steps from your door and the grocery store an easy bike trip away, this quintessential California beach cottage makes your SoCal vacation as carefree as it should be. Overall a great stay! Highly recommend.Highlights:-Proximity to the beach! It's about 3 houses down from the beach. Very handy for children and elders.-The hot tub was great after a long day or long walk on the beach.-Proximity to restaurants was great.-Washing machine and dryer were handy.-The backyard was nice for having family meals-The front gate gives more privacy.-Two parking spaces -Plenty of beach towelsNegatives:-Could have been cleaner. Many of the dishes in the cabinets were dirty and there was grime and mold in the main bathroom.-There is no AC and we were there during a heatwave-Only one set of towels per person (had to do a lot washing)

We do want to mention that we received no communication from you regarding cleanliness during your stay—had we known about the dishes or the bathroom, our team would have rushed right over to make it right for you! The same goes for the towels; we would have gladly pointed out where the extras were stored or brought you more right away. Regarding the climate, while there is a split unit in the living room, the rest of the home does not feature AC. We truly appreciate your helpful feedback and would love to welcome you and your family back anytime!

Spacious, comfortable very walkable to beach, stores, boardwalk. Very nice back yard. Management was very accommodating. Great response time to any questions. Plan to stay again.

Clean place and convenient location. Less than 30 sec walk to the beach. Walkable to grocery store, bars, restaurants. Responsive host. The unit was a little smaller than expected, but the large outdoor private back patio and hot tub made everything perfect! Would definitely stay here again.

Cant beat the location- steps from the sand and close walking distance to a great street with multiple restaurants. The house is clean and so cozy- perfwct weekend getaway

The house is very close to the beach in a wonderful area. The layout is not really suitable for 3 sets of adults, but could work for a family. However, the home has clearly not been well taken care of. Hard to say if it is the property managers or an owner that refuses to put money in. 7 out of 14 window blinds were not fully functional, overall cleanliness was poor, one of the skylights did not open, the kitchen was poorly outfitted, the dishwasher didn't work (wonderful make and model, just something is wrong with this one) and a host of other minor wear issues too numerous to mention. Overall cleanliness was bad news and not surprising with no footwash near the door when that close to the beach and an ineffective dishwasher. I texted the property manager on entry about the broken skylight, got an immediate reply that they'd be out there that night. Next day I texted again saying the skylight remotes were possibly the problem as the batts needed replacing, they told me there was a bag of batts and similar items above the fridge. There was no such bag in the kitchen, bought batts on my own. They said they'd be right out with a new bag. They never showed (in 6 days) for the broken skylight or the bag. On day 4 or 5 we started getting fleas (the couch always felt sketchy). We do not have pets. I reported this, and was told they'd be taking care of that too. Right. The texts were very polite, very timely, but nothing ever actually resulted from them.

Regarding the maintenance items, please know we take those seriously. The skylight window is already being actively addressed, and we are working with our maintenance and cleaning teams to ensure the blinds, kitchen inventory, and appliances—including the dishwasher—are fully inspected and up to standard. We also apologize for the miscommunication regarding the replacement batteries; we completely understand your frustration.
As for the concern regarding fleas, our team searched the entire home thoroughly right after your stay, specifically focusing on the couch/ carpets and other potential areas, and found no evidence of fleas whatsoever.
We appreciate your helpful notes on the home's layout, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

Such a great location and comfortable, chill house. 30 second walk to the beach. House was generally very clean, We did discover that the dishwasher doesn’t clean well so dishes in the cupboards & drawers weren’t very clean, we hand washed most of what we used. The dish cupboards also need a good scrub inside, we cleaned a few shelves for our use. House is an older beach cottage so just keep that in mind - no A/C, windows get a bit stuck, one of the skylights doesn’t work. But, for value, it was great. It would have cost us 2x the price to rent 3 hotel rooms for 5 nights in a comparable location. Kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, coffee maker, cutting boards, serving trays, etc. Plenty of random spices, coffee filters, and detergent left behind from other renters too. Rental company provides lots of towels, bedding, pillows, soap, dish liquid, new dish sponge, kitchen towels, and a couple of floor fans. House is generally clean, except for the odd mosquito remains squashed onto the walls and never wiped off, which just made us laugh.Washing machine & dryer were GREAT. Love an older center-agitator style machine. They work so well, and fast! Beds are comfortable enough. Water was actually way too hot, we turned down the water heater a little bit. The outdoor shower was so hot (and the off/on lever just spun around forever) that we mostly used the hose, which was fine considering the weather was very warm. Will definitely try to rent again!

This was the perfect place for our sisters' reunion. It was a great location for accessing not only the beach, but nearby downtown and other communities. The setup of the living/dining area made it easy for us when we stayed in for meals or catching up. The beds were comfortable and clean. We wanted to use the hot tub but it was a bit cold and rainy so we didn't check it out. The access to the beach is only 2 doors down and up a short few steps. It's a nice, wide beach but same thing...too cold, windy, rainy for a beach day! We had one little hitch with a sliding door coming off the track and someone came out quickly to fix it for us. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Ventura.

Cute Beach House
We found the property to be clean, in good condition, comfortable, and in a great location, with only a short walk to the beach. It is also near restaurants, grocery store, & other services. We would stay here again.

We stayed here 2013. Things are degraded. Screen door handle is broken, gate door is degraded, the TV is blurred, the internet is slow.
