Everything was perfect for our needs! Amazing and easy communication with the owner. Property was clean and well appointed. Nice to have a dedicated parking spot, as well. Location was convenient too.

Perfect for a get-together and stay with long-time friends. Spacious and clean. We were five men and found the open floor plan of the kitchen/living room/dining room area a good place to hang comfortably. The two full bathrooms served our needs. Only one of us used the convenient in-apartment washer and dryer, but it was very good to have the option.

Great stay

We had a great stay at the property. The place was very clean and had all the essentials and the manager was very attentive. The location was a bit quiet with not much bars and shops etc around but this would be my only fault.

The perfect home away from home!

We were in town for a conference and the home was perfect as we transitioned from the convention center. It was relaxing and met our needs. The home was also close to everything!

Ghana Festival

Great location. Right in North Kenwood. Very close to public transportation. Host was great communicator and responded to all questions quickly. Even was okay w an unexpected pet and allowed use of an extra off street parking spot. Thank you.

Good choice

The place was great for our large group (9) for a visit to U of C and to tour downtown. Yonan was very responsive and flexible with checkout. He leaves condiments, sugar, oils, etc., which is nice. I recommend it

Huge and Comfortable Chicago Apartment

The apartment is lage and comfortable, plenty of room for a family. We came into town for a UChicago graduation and it was a great location. 7-10 minutes to campus, depending on traffic. Close to everything you want to explore: downtown, MSI, restaurants. The parking space was very helpful, but street parking looked to be available if you had a second car. Everything we needed was there from paper towels to dish detergent and coffe supplies. It was very thoughtfully supplied. Furnishings are comfortable and the bedding was so comfortable and clean. The host was quick to reply to any questions and touched base through the app to make sure everything was going well. I would definitely stay here again!

Decent place with potential (not the cleanest though)

This property is located in a quiet and charming neighborhood that's walking distance to essential stores and a few food options, including the Original Pancake House and Binny's. I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood and the neighbors I passed by were pretty friendly. We arrived in Chicago pretty early on a Friday morning and the owner was very accommodating and allowed us to check-in as soon as we were ready. Check-in instructions were pretty straightforward and typical for a rental property. The unit is just like the pictures - four bedrooms, two bathrooms (no master suite, so everyone shares the bathrooms), full kitchen and living area. The place is actually kind of bland but has great potential - I would suggest an interior decorator could really hook the place up. As much as we liked the place overall, it was evident that the place was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival (and probably long before that). The lamp shades had dust on them, the floor didn't appear to have been swept, let alone mopped. There were strands of hair in the bathroom. The towel bar in one of the bathrooms fell off as well. As I mentioned, the place has great potential. However, the cleanliness issues really lowered the rating I am able to provide.

It's worth your while!!!

My family and I enjoyed our stay!! It was a lovely, pleasant time for us. The owner is an amazing person. Didn't mind responding to messages, checked on us to make sure we were comfy, and helped us out because we came into town earlier than expected. I asked if we could check in and freshen up to go to lunch, the apartment was available and clean. The pics doesn't do it any justice!! This apartment is verrrrry spacious. It was a group of 9 and everyone slept comfortably. I would definitely stay here again. The neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves. I loved it here. I appreciate the hospitality extended to my family and me!!! Thanks for the beverages that awaited us. You're the best I've ever rented from!!!

Really nice owner/manager

We really liked that we had a confirmed parking spot and din't have to rely on finding street parking. Also, We really appreciated the late checkout. Our flight plans changed and we had to make a couple of trips to the airport. Having a late checkout really took some stress out of our departure timing. Great stay! Location was convenient to UChicago as we were there for graduation ceremonies. Thank you very much!!

Home Away From Home

I rented this apartment for over 2 weeks when my daughter was graduating from the University of Chicago (and moving out of one apartment and into a summer sublet). Over the time of rental, the numbers of visitors ranged from me alone to 7 adults in town for the graduation. This apartment more than lived up to expectations. The living room/great room area is actually larger than the photo implies and was very comfortable and well laid out. The kitchen was well stocked and our host, Yonin, had left a number of goodies as well as a bag of ground coffee for the week! The beds were comfortable and the rooms are large. The 2 bathrooms are well planned - and having a washer/dryer in one was incredibly helpful. Some notes: This is an old building -- which allows for larger rooms and a lovely historic feel. But it means that if you have noisier upstairs neighbors, you can hear their footsteps. If it is a problem, let Yonin know and he will alert them. This is not a rudeness, just a truth about older buildings. The entrance/exit is through the back door next to the tiny parking lot. It might have been nice to have a key to get in and out the front door for walks and if you park on the street, but this is not a huge factor. The weeks we were there, there was street construction that made street parking a bit harder, but that should not be the case most of the time. This is at the edge of the gentrified part of North Kenwood. Though this end of the street has some less-cared for building, you can see the neighborhood cares and is slowly renovating the houses. I walked around alone to the shopping areas and over to the lake, and everyone I met was friendly and greeted me. Everything you need is within a short distance, and you will truly experience Chicago living. Also, the close entrance/exits to Lakeshore Drive makes this place perfectly situated for going north to downtown. Also, Yonin was wonderful! He truly cares for the comfort of his guests. I highly recommend this apartment, especially for groups or families. And if you have a child at UChicago, BOOK IN ADVANCE for graduation!

Easy peasy

This place was clean and specious (there were 4 of us on a business trip) and the owner was great to deal with. He was very responsive and checked in with us. It's right next to a bridge to the park by the lake and I went running every morning.

Great location near Downtown Chicago

The location was excellent, we were minutes away from downtown Chicago. We were a family of nine and the place had enough rooms for all of us it was clean and very well maintained. The property manager was great to accommodate us with the check-in time, since we were traveling from Atlanta. We would highly recommend this property and would stay here again if we went to Chicago.

Way better than a hotel. Nicely remodeled condo. Everything we were looking for.

Having never used home away before, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. There were 8 of us traveling together and this condo was exactly what we were looking for. It is nicely remodeled and had everything we needed during our stay. Plenty of room to unpack and feel right at home, way better than a hotel. Since I am not very familiar with Chicago and the surrounding areas, I had no idea what kind of neighborhood it would be. Again, I was pleasantly surprised. The neighbors are all very friendly. The owner was excellent. He stayed in contact to make sure that we had everything we needed and that our trip was going well. Even though its not right in the city, it is just a quick Uber ride to get wherever you want to go. I would definitely stay here again.

Exceeded our expectations

We had 8 adults stay here for the Pokemon go fest for 3 nights. We showed up late on Friday and was able to get in without any issues. The owner is great to work with and the place is great. This was several of my friends first time to rent a place on homeaway and the all loved this property. Hope we can get it again next year.

Good location and space, renovated

Good location a few block walk to Metra train to downtown. Plenty of space for the 8 adults on our trip. Could have been cleaned more thoroughly and due to being in a shared building there is noise from tenants above.
