10 out of 10, I highly recommend this property!! I was able to book with ease, the communication was excellent, check in and check out were seamless. The cabin was practically spotless, in near perfect condition with gorgeous exposed wood. The grill was cleaned, ready to use, along with the fire pit. Even the towels were super soft. It was so peaceful, the view was incredible. This stay was exactly what we were looking for. I’ve traveled a lot and this was the best stay I’ve had, from booking to walking out the door. We will for sure be back!

Our stay was magical. The sunrise piercing through the front window overlooking the deck and the bay was amazing! The house was very, very clean & welcoming. We brought stuff to cook/clean but the house had everything we needed. Our kids and dogs loved the water and listening the waves crashing. Bring extra firewood as you're going to want to stay outside all night and look up at the stars. Would return again, thank you so much!

Absolutely lovely cabin! Quiet, calm, secluded and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for! We will Def be booking again, hopefully in a few months. The beach was perfect, the sunrise through the large windows and cool air coming off the ocean was exactly the reset we needed! However, be mindful that there's isn't laundry on site, nor cutlery so plan accordingly. We have 2 young children that loved to get messy on beach but thankfully grandparents are 10 minutes away and I believe there's a place in Winter Harbor for laundry.Thank you for the retreat, great gem!

thanks for the lovely review, Taryn. This is one of my very favorite homes too so I love when guests experience all of it! I had a sad chuckle when I saw "no cutlery" YES we have cutlery! But I can see how you overlooked it. It is in a silverware drawer in the table. Not a place one would readily look, I grant you. We have now put a sign in the kitchen to direct people. Your feedback was so helpful. You were gems for guests!

Bottom line: great stay. Would do again. Gorgeous property, beautiful sunrise view, away from the busy areas so you actually see wildlife out here. Things to know, there is no laundry on site. Though listed as an amenity, the coin laundry is via laundromats in nearby towns. Another thing to note, distances are underestimated. We came during the busy season and there was never traffic. Raw distance made the commutes all longer than they were stated in the listing. If you want to really appreciate a quiet town and don’t mind commuting for Bar Harbor or Mt Desert Island, this is perfect. Absolutely recommend. Also, the Schoodic half of Acadia National Park is better than Mt Desert Island side. We (me, wife, baby, dogs) will be returning. Kitchen is great, we cooked most meals in the cabin.

Traffic is always hard to determine, it definitely varies, but laundry is either yes or no. We mention no laundry so guests are not expecting it. Hope we see you again!

We had a wonderful time here, and highly recommend this waterfront gem. The beds were comfy, and the small but cozy kitchen well equipped. The ocean view was mesmerizing, and we watched lobster boats tending traps, a fantastic moonrise, and our dogs loved the swimming.The drive entry isn’t easily seen….turn in the next entry after 21.

The location is great, very secluded and private. Amazing views right out the bedroom window. Has that remote cabinet feel on the inside. It's about an hour away from Bar Harbor which was perfect for us to make a day trip down there.Also local oysters and lobster are abundant. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the shower, it was either way too hot or way too cold, should be a simple fix to switch the controls.

Amazing!

We had an absolutely fabulous stay - My only feedback is that Ellsworth is NOT 20 minutes away, and Winter Harbor isn't 10 minutes away - it's 45 and 20 respectively, so plan ahead for supplies, it's not as quick of a jaunt to the store as we had anticipated - though there are smaller grocery stores closer than Ellsworth. The Cabin was lovely, the beach was incredible, and the setting was amazing. We will be back!

This place is unbelievable. I could spend all day at the picnic table in front of the fire pit looking at the water and I pretty much did. Lol.We will be back.It's a long ride for us.But worth it.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The check in process was easy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the property was clean. I would definitely make sure you read the instructions the owner sends for getting there. My sister did not and had a hard time finding the driveway but my husband and I did and had no issues. Our first day was rainy but we still had a great day relaxing on the porch or sitting on the couch under the heater and watching the ocean. I watched the beautiful sunrises from either the couch or the bed every morning with my early riser one-year-old, who also took her very first steps on the porch!! All in all, we loved it here and are absolutely planning to return!

Location was great and private but very far from any stores. Be prepared to drive over a half hour to a gas station and an hour for coffee and food. Showering was terrible only had hot water for 2 minutes and it was either scalding hot water or ice cold no in between. The furniture in the living room is so gross and old like probaby over 30-40 yrs old. I really wish i was joking. I took picutres of the gross body stains on the chair it was like years of old sweat stains and the outline of someone's body. I wish i could upload the picture. To put this cottage on a rental platform is disgraceful, dont be a slumlord, dump a couple hundred bucks into the furniture. Really sad and gross.

We had a wonderful time!!

My husband, baby and I stayed here and celebrated our baby’s 1st birthday! It was the perfect secluded spot for us to enjoy a lovely vacation together. The private beach was so nice and the home was cozy and the perfect size for us 3. It had everything we needed to make ourselves at home! A few things on the description that were inaccurate: there didn’t appear to be any laundry which wasn’t inconvenient, but it was on the listing. Also Ellsworth is not 20 minutes away, it’s more like 45. Again, not a deal breaker, but just not accurate to list as such. There seemed to be maybe be some reno or updates happening at the home, but there was no wood burning stove, or door on the one bedroom where we had our baby sleep. Fortunately we found blankets to hang on the door frame to act as a door, but it’s something worth noting as I didn’t notice that in the photos!All in all was a really great house and location, just needs some updating in the description.
