The cabin and land was all we could ask for and more! The views and sounds were so peaceful. Our dogs also had a great time! What a tremendous location, so close to Schoodic point and convenient to get to the main part of Acadia. We only wish we had more time.

My husband and our small dog and I spent 2 weeks at this cottage. It is so peaceful and extremely well-equipped. The owners have thought of everything! It's located at the end of a long dirt road, so it is isolated from neighboring homes and very quiet and comfortable. The cottage is just a short drive to the Schoonic Peninsula, which a gorgeous, quiet part of Acadia National Park...extraordinary views and no crowds. Schoodic Point is a wonderful place to watch the sunset. We also really enjoyed the Frazer Point picnic area and the Schoodic Head hiking trail, and Grindstone Point.

Great place and as advertised.Only minor point is that treatment of trash and recycling was not as clear as it could have been.

Our stay was wonderful, the privacy and beauty of the property made it tempting to just hang out at the house! The only bad thing was that we couldn't stay longer. We did not hang at the house although it was tempting, we hiked and explored and we are beginning to plan our next visit, because there is so much to see in the beautiful Schoonic area. The host quickly responded to the few questions I had. It was all just great!

We absolutely loved this place! The view was so beautiful! It was also close to some great hiking spots, we loved the quieter side of Acadia and actually preferred it because it wasnt as busy. We were sad to leave but hope to be back.

Acadia vacation

This was a great place for us to stay while visiting Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. The owner Dan made us feel very welcome and ensured our stay was comfortable. The check in and out process extremely easy. Having a clother washer and dryer available was a plus.

Beautiful Stay!!

My husband, our two dogs, and I loved staying at the cabin/cottage. It has everything you would need, beautiful view, and snuggled at the end of road giving complete solitude. The location was perfect! The host awesome! We loved Maine!

Schoodic peninsula

The property was as advertised. We really appreciated the games and the bikes. Very quiet and secluded, but yet close to restaurants and the schoodic portion of Acadia.

Maine vacation

Awesome property with great views. Saw eagles and osprey fly overhead. Passed out each night and look forward to coming back.

Private, quiet, cozy. We spent six days relaxing. We love the Schoodic peninsula part of Acadia, so this is a great location to jot over to watch sunset, take hikes or bike rides. Very quiet. Pickled Wrinkle nearby is a gem. Host was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely come back.

We had a wonderful and thoroughly memorable stay at the cottage! The location is ideal for getting away from the demands of regular life and the bustle of Mr Desert Island. Description and photos are accurate. We rented kayaks and enjoyed exploring the harbor from the water. We split our days between local adventures (including the Schoodic Peninsula side of Acadia NP, which is beautiful and quiet) and hiking the main part of Acadia (a little under an hour away). Dan was an incredible and communicative host and we hope to return!

The peace and quiet I needed.

Location was beautiful, quiet and private. View to the water was wonderful. Very peaceful. Saw the eagle and hummingbird. Cottage is clean, exactly as pictured. Bed was very comfortable. Would stay again.

Peaceful property!

Had a great time staying at this property. It was quiet, secluded and very peaceful. Being able to bike the schoodic peninsula right from the house was wonderful. I worked a bit and the internet was very capable, cell service was spotty. There were wonderful places to eat very nearby, including the pickled wrinkle. Would very much stay here again! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Wonderful week

What a wonderful week we had! It was my husband and our dogs! We love this area of Maine and this property didnt disappoint. We enjoyed the peace and tranquil views. The property had everything we needed. The area has great local restaurants and shops. We will be back! Five stars.

A week at this beautiful cabin left us feeling happy and healthy! The cabin has lots of features lacking in other accommodations I’ve stayed in: plenty of extra towels, soft and clean; a kitchen with multiple types of coffee makers and surprising supplies to use (such as olive oil, spices, paper goods, tin foil and bags); and a local property caretaker who shows up in minutes to help with any problems (she brought over a new propane tank for the BBQ just minutes after I mentioned that the tank needed refilling). But the main event is the view, tranquil and beautiful at all times of day. The furniture and beds were so comfortable that we felt at home immediately. P

Private little cedar cottage

If you're looking for a private spot consider this cottage, pet friendly in every way and quiet yet very close to the Schoodic loop and Winter Harbor. Small but well appointed in every way. I brought a small hummingbird feeder and was rewarded with a little juvie hummer every day right off the kitchen window :) Note: we also found a feeder in the closet so no need to bring your own!

Nice place.

Very nice place. I do wish you did not have to wash the sheets and towels before leaving. That should be part of the cleaning fee that you pay. We brought ours with us but for some people that would be difficult if flying.

Thanks for staying at the cottage and particularly for your candid input. I appreciate it! After all, I want you to have a great time during your stay. The late checkout and early check in times make it a little difficult to run laundry in between visitors but I will look into making that possible. Tranquility

This is the second time we stayed here. The first time was about 5 years ago and we only stayed 3 nights. Fell in love with the place. This time we stayed about 2 weeks and we brought our fur babies with. They loved it as much as us. We are planning to come back again but we want to stay for the whole month. Can't beat the fall colors in October. So cool to go down to the harbors and get a lobster roll.

Great place exactly as advertised

This is a great cottage on the water at one if the coves near Prospect Harbor. Not only is there the cove, there is a babbling brook near the house ( or a gushing waterfall after heavy rain). If the brook is silent due to no rain, you can hear the ocean waves on the other side of the cove. We experienced all 3 during our ten day stay. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need for cooking, views are great, very quiet and private. Host is very responsive. Could not have been a better place

Family Adventures in Acadia

Really great time! Family of 4 here for a week to explore Acadia, and enjoyed some good eats too. The beds in both rooms were super comfyll stocked bathroom with plenty of towels, and cleaning supplies as needed in the kitchen. Very clean - we are an asthma/allergy family and travel with hepa filters and breathing treatments just in case. None were needed this trip! Well equipped kitchen with metal/glass/porcelain wear. We are also a family of food allergies and celiac- we bring stainless steal pots and utensils just in case the kitchen is mostly plastic. We also didn't need to use them. Really close to the schoodic entrance of Acadia, about an hour to bar Harbour , but a nice drive. On the schoodic side we explored blueberry hill and the anvil trail In the main park Ocean path Thunder hole Jordan Pond We had a really fun meal at the pickled wrinkle ( 5 minutes away) and they were able to accommodate our celiac and dairy allergies. The Downeaster in Winter Harbor had good iced coffee. On Tuesday there was a fun farmers market in Winter Harbor by the treehouse restaurant. Restaurants in Bar Harbor ( delicious qnd also able to accommodate our dietary needs) SideStreet Cafe Peeky Toe Provisions CJs ice-cream ( softserve almond milk ice-cream, blueberry flavor was amazing!) We also drove to Northeast Harbor and had a meal at the Noreaster ( they have a gluten free dedicated fryer) my husband who doesnt need to be gluten free kept checking because it was all so d
