Entire Home in the heart of Sugar Camp on beautiful Bass Lake. No Cleaning Fee!!

Enjoy a stay in this freshly renovated 3 bedroom home on Bass Lake. Perfectly located just 9 miles between both Eagle River and Rhinelander. Enjoy easy access to the snowmobile and ATV trails that connect to the property. In the winter head down to the water and do some ice fishing or snowshoeing. In the summer head down to the water for a kayak trip around the lake or maybe just a swim with the kids. The house is attached to coffee shop (Highland Cottage Cafe) It is 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house. There is a fire pit outside for guests. There is another one bedroom cabin (highland cottage cabin) that sits on the opposite end of the property. You cannot see the cabin from the house and vice versa. It is a lakefront property with lots of room for swimming. The lakefront is shared between the two rentals but there is ample space for everyone. There are kayaks, paddle boards, and a rowboat, free for guest use on the lake. Spring-fall enjoy the mini highland cows on the property. At the attached coffee shop enjoy coffee, fresh bakery, breakfast, lunch & cocktails.

Dogs are allowed however, you must select that you are bringing a dog when you book, there is a $50 pet fee.

Excellent location allowing us to enjoy the outdoors while attending a wedding in Rhinelander. The cafe and near by diner were great for breakfast and lunch options and the lake is quiet and a perfect retreat. Tyler was very responsive and super helpful!

Super clean and bright - great spot for our home base for an event that my family was attending. We didn't have time to take advantage of the boats and lake, but did spend a little time gazing at its beauty. Next time . . .

Comfortable place to stay in a great location close to coffee shop, cafe, and local establishments for a couple drinks and food. Home had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay there again, and may be back next year!

We stayed here during a snowmobiling trip and the location was perfect for getting on the trails. We also had plenty of space to park our large snowmobile trailer. The house was very nice and clean. We had everything we needed to make it a wonderful weekend! Would recommend this house and would stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay. We rented the cottage while in town for a softball tournament. It was the perfect place to rest after and between games. The cottage is adorable. It was a bonus that it is near a cute cafe.

Property states "on" the lake. It is not nor do you have a view. Spoke with owner saying how disappointed we were. Her only resolution x3 was for us to cancel with refund. Planned this trip and drive 3 hours. I had forwarded 1 text message say how incredibly disappointed we were. A bit later a received a VM saying"you yelled at my wife" which I did not. "I am a realtor and I can advertise on the lake as its a big parcel"..we couldn't even view the lake! Then he sent a text " I just want to make sure the harassing & unpleasant messages are finished". Only 1 message from me was texted. When we came home from town he was there.. we had no clue who he was and he could not even talk to us! Face 2 face. I texted today summing it all up giving him a chance before I wrote my review. Now HE threatens me to either let it or he will review ME as a "Rude Guest"!. Later the wife was on the property, saw us, still could not talk face 2 face. Horrible experience!!! So unprofessional, creating a story and wrongly labeling me. Would NOT recommend.

Hello Cindy. We asked many times if there was some way we could improve your stay many times but you just wanted to continue having unproductive conversations. We were sorry you did not enjoy the location of your rental but we unfortunately could not change the fact you would have a short 50 feet to walk to see the water. It became apparent the only thing that you were seeking was money returned. I would also advise reaching out after your stay before you leave a review and looking for money to be returned is not a great look for a guest as well.

We were extremely disappointed with this stay due to several significant issues that were never disclosed in the listing.First, this property is attached to an active business with farm animals. Throughout the day, people come and go for business purposes and to feed the animals, eliminating any sense of privacy. We also learned the day of arrival that there is another cabin on the property, located right next to the dock area. This means you're constantly passing other guests and have little privacy at the lake. If you're traveling with pets, expect interactions with farm animals and other animals on-site.Thankfully, our stay was Sunday-Tuesday. When we drove by later in the week, the entire grassy recreation area had become a massive parking lot with large numbers of people throughout the property and around the rental. Had we stayed later in the week, it would have been completely unacceptable.The property was also poorly cleaned. Toilets and floors were dirty, and there was a pile of used sheets from previous guests left in a closet, which raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the cabin.The AC was another issue. The only unit is an undersized mini-split in the living room that doesn't adequately cool the bedrooms esp if you want the doors closed at night.When these concerns were raised, the response was simply, "Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay."We've stayed in many vacation rentals and have never experienced so much important info

We had a family reunion at our cabin in Sugar Camp. It was so nice to have the option and convenience to rent your cabin right next store for our over flow family members. Very clean , nicely decorated , and the owner was easy to work with. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin.

Great experience

The property was exactly as described. It was clean inside and beds were comfortable. The location was right where we needed to be and close to town. We had a truck and large trailer and it was very easy to park it at the property. Make sure to check out the diner next door for a delicious breakfast.

Check in was simple. House was comfortable and adequate for our stay. Located on a fairly busy highway but noise was minimal inside the house. The host was accessible and pleasant. Only drawback was that the internet was fairly slow which was not a major issue.

Beautiful Home!

Beautiful newly renovated home with plenty of room for your group. Stayed here for some trail riding and had ample parking for a truck and trailer. Access to Bass Lake with provided kayaks and paddle board’s were a great addition. The homeowners were very accommodating with our stay and was prompt at responding to questions one might have. I would highly recommend this property for your next Northwoods adventure!

It was a perfect little place to stay for family of 5 for the weekend. There was a cafe walking distance from house. The host responded right away with instructions of check-ins and was quick to respond. I would definitely recommend.

Newly renovated

Clean and convenient to the plethora of fishing lakes. Super nice couple own the property. It's not what one would consider a secluded Northwoods retreat since it sits on a busy highway, but if traffic isn't a concern, it's a great place to stay. For my fishing trip, it was perfect. Had plenty of room for truck, boat, and trailer along with an electrical hookup. I would definitely book again.

Economic Lake Experience

Our host was wonderful and responded quickly to any question that we had. The place was clean and had the items that we needed to have an enjoyable trip. We did a lot of fishing and caught a nice amount of fish using the row boat that was provided. Because the place is right on the highway, there is a lot of noise and it’s not quite an “up North” experience. The price was right and we have plenty of fish for dinner!

Property is right off the highway about midway between Rhinelander and Eagle River in small town of Sugar Camp. My oldest daughter loved the three "neighbors" in the pasture right behind the property. Short walk from the cabin back to Bass Lake with a small dock and beach area. We didn't partake in any of the on-site activities though, but they were right there. Property was clean and relatively quiet while we were there.
