The Bellevue was perfect for our 8-day Oregon coast vacation (mum, dad, gma, & three 22 yr olds). The ocean view is incredible: we spent hours on the porch, sipping morning coffee and evening cocktails, reading, or just watching the waves. We cooked and ate most of meals in the house, so we were thankful that the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed for easy prep & serving. The furnishings are comfortable with a warm, beachy vibe. The community pool was 86 degrees – perfect for swims on brisk September days, followed by hot tub soaks back at the house. We played lots of games each evening, sometimes curling up on the comfy sectional afterward to enjoy a movie together.
We mostly drove to the nearby beach access points (the story of Joe the Sea Lion at one access is so poignant!); convenient parking was always available. We walked several miles of Lincoln City's public beaches, and loved watching the harbor seals and pelicans at Siletz Bay (Mo’s serves decent fish & chips & clam chowder bread bowls, while offering great views of the harbor seals fishing).
LC was a perfect midpoint for us to experience a good swath of the Oregon coast. To the south, we had a blast riding ATVs in Florence's sand dunes and beach (highly recommend Torex rentals), enjoyed Cobble Beach’s “singing rocks” and plentiful marine wildlife at Yaquina Head, and scenic walks at several coastal viewpoints (Devil’s Punch Bowl, Whale Cove, Boiler Bay). To the north, we enjoyed the quaint shops and a beach walk by Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, followed by a quick foray into Seaside.
Jake is an excellent communicator, answering questions ahead of booking, sending a thorough check-in/orientation email, and emails after arrival to ensure we were settled & before check-out to see if we needed help.
We were lucky to experience a great weather mix: a few days of calm, warm sunshine, 1.5 days of rain & storm (loved watching the lightning over the ocean from the comfort of the house!), followed by cooler, windy sun with big waves crashing along the beach. The check-out process is slightly more rigorous than some, but we were happy to comply given the generous comforts (we appreciated the extras like beach chairs & towels & books & blankets … & that kitchen!), and we left a few things to "pay it forward" (one being a puzzle with all pieces :).
Hot tip from a friendly neighbor: $4.95 breakfast special at the Dory Cove! Thanks for the lovely stay - we hope to return again.
