The Space:

Valhalla is the perfect oceanfront vacation home with its spacious floor plan and modern amenities. As soon as you walk into this lovely two-story home, you will notice the recently updated kitchen, stainless steel appliances, and the large granite countertops. With views from almost every room, Valhalla will quickly win you over.



The dining room features a sliding door out to the oceanfront deck where you can dine alfresco on sunny days or walk a few more steps and have a picnic right on the beach. Circle around to the living room that has plenty of room for everyone to lounge and relax.



Go upstairs and step through the double doors into the primary bedroom where you will be blown away by the spectacular ocean view. Step out onto the balcony and sip your coffee as you watch the birds swoop down to the ocean. On the other end of the house is a large kid's room with beds, a sofabed, and a TV with a VCR and plenty of room for them to play.

Amazing sunsets

Spent 3 amazing days here. Couldn’t get any closer to the beach. Walked for hours upand down the beach in beautiful weather. The house was great. It had everything we needed. The two great decks provided great places to relax. Will happily stay here again.

Wonderful experience.

Great home for a family gathering for an early Christmas. We had folks from 80 to 1 years old, it was safe for all, everything worked as advertised. All of our family loved this house. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful beachfront!

The house was great…fit our whole family of 12 comfortably. Some of the bed linens need to be replaced & the dining table needs a table cover. But those are minor in comparison to being right on the beach with access. We had a wonderful time with our family & hope to rent this house again.

Great Oceanfront Home!

There is much to love about Valhalla - huge deck, spacious family bedroom, incredible views, well stocked kitchen, and it's steps from the beach!! The dirty carpet and some "past their prime" living room furniture keep this from being a five-star property, but I still recommend it!!

This house is perfect! It’s a little dated and had some quirks (stuck sink drain, toilet issue…which we fixed, and a broken towel rod, the house was great!! I was a little afraid based on some other reviews, but man. It was great! A TRUE beach house!!! My only negative was there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we got there, which I am sure was an oversight. I plan to book this place for the event we were in town for this year for many years to come!!! Thanks for a wonderful place to stay!!

Beautiful ocean-front view

We enjoyed our stay at this great house that sits right on the beach. The front of the house has a beautiful ocean view. We loved the large kitchen and table big enough for our family of 10. There was plenty of room for all of us. We were close to crabbing at Kelly’s Marina, downtown and hiking near Manzanita. We had a great long weekend in Rockaway. .

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. House was comfortable for our family. Several things were not--carpets were in dire need of cleaning (why anyone would put carpeting in a beach house is beyond me) and there were no screens in the windows. Still, we would probably return.

Extraordinary views

This property is just as it is described. A stones throw away from the beach and the waves it is impossible not to relax while you’re here. There are private rooms for all your guests and a wonderful sauna to warm you up after a spring day on the beach. The property is easy to find, easy to get comfortable in and the property owners are easy to communicate with. We could not have asked for better weather and spent so much time on the patio soaking up the salty air and sunshine. This property is wonderful, clean and inviting. It felt like home.

This was a complete disaster of a trip. We entered an uncleaned house. There was panties between the dirty couch cushions, floor stains the size of melons, crumbs and food on the kitchen chairs and under the kitchen table. Coffee maker want cleaned out and had old grinds in it that stunk up the kitchen, the bed smelled so bad that I had to remove the covers and saw the pee stains. I guarantee I slept in old pee. I don't know why the house cleaners didn't see this unless they never removed the bedding from the previous renters, the couches are old and nasty to the point that the owner put plywood under the couches to reinforce them so people can sit on them. I can just go on forever and I take pictures

Perfect Christmas experience!

So perfect! My husband loves a sauna, I love a bath! Best of both worlds. One night with hubby, one night with my kiddos and grands. Great location for the candy cane express, and having a Christmas Experience. The house was clean and well stocked. I had the greatest night sleep. Only a few minor things weren't perfect. 😁

Great location - house needs a lot work

We had an amazing time due to the location and the weather being nice enough for us to be outside.. The size and floor plan of the house was great but the house itself needs a LOT of work. The furniture is very old and pieced together.. there was mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers.. the wall vents are sharp and caked with dust, the bedding on some of the beds is torn, there are stains on the carpet, the main upstairs toilet is broken.. I had read previous reviews of all these things but had high hopes some updating and repairs had been done. No such luck. Would stay again IF these things were addressed, but can’t recommend it in good conscious the way it is now.

Great views, hairy bathtub

Dirty. Hairs in the showers. Found hair in the bed. Little kids sticky handprints all over windows. tile floors need a good cleaning. Sticky cabinet doors. Dryer vent plugged. No way to make ice. No cleaning supplies in the house to clean up after the last guest. A house with 14 beds but we only hand 3 rolls of tp and four dishwasher pods for 7 nights. Over $1000 in fees including cleaning and damage. This was a ripoff for the quality of care and customer service.

Great house, poor property management

Huge, older home with broad, expansive views of the beach and ocean. We loved hanging out in the living room and dining room playing games. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen has many dishes, tools, pots and pans, but some of the pans should be thrown out (unusable) due to rust and flaking materials in the bottom. We knew not to expect the fireplace to work, but the property listed the sauna as an amenity, yet we were told it was inoperable. Communication with property management was frustrating we were expected to first troubleshoot the light in the sauna (that associate hadn't realized the sauna was inoperable), then given steps to unclog a sink (!!) when the water wouldn’t go down. Shouldn’t management be doing this rather than vacationers paying to rent a house? But again, the house itself was perfect for us. We’ll probably be back again, now knowing the standards and terms of renting. Also, I'm posting this two days after checking out and the property is still listed as having a sauna.

Valhalla is a home with so much unmet potential. The view is incredible. The deck is spacious. The home is also spacious. We settled on this home because as advertised it met our needs for pet free and a room at ground level. Our group has some folks with accessibility needs, We were hesitant after reading the reviews, many mentioned the broken deck chairs, broken,old and uncomfortable couches, questionable cleaning. These were in 2024 and we reassured ourselves that surely the property owner would have replaced these with usable furniture and cleaning update. NOPE. Stacks of shattered chairs were left on the side of the home for guests, all unusable and some even dangerous. A layer of dust remained on the linens on the bed, other surfaces wiped down around the furniture but thick layers in places where lamps and other items were not moved. The couches are stained and broken, a board sits underneath the cushions of both. We are good sports though and tried to make the best of it. Our second night we sat visiting and out of the corner of the room a large fat RODENT scrambled into view. The brave among us tried to corner him and in the process found the nest, INSIDE THE COUCH under the board we had been sitting on. We called VACASA and thankfully they were able to reaccomodate us.The home could really be something with some updates and maintenance. Hopefully the owner will make some changes with this place. if you book it, maybe dont unpack jic you have to move too.

Nice but needs updating

The location is the main selling point! There are steps right off the back of house that land you right onto the beach. The back decks have you overlooking and hearing the ocean which was wonderful. Walking distance to town (Dollar General, gift shops, small grocery store, small kids playground). The house though needs an update. The couches are not comfortable to lounge on, the cushions constantly slide out and you sink to the back of the couch. Many of the outdoor chairs were broken. Not a single spice/oil/flour/sugar in the kitchen to be found so if you plan to cook bring absolutely everything you need. We have stayed in many vacay rentals and have not experienced that before. The kitchen has the very basics for pots/pans. Only 2 extra rolls of toilet paper were provided and no additional paper towels. For a house accommodating 14 adults it would have been nice to see a few more basics. The living room carpet was stained. Alot of missing dresser and cabinet handles in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The master bedroom bed was comfortable and updated but the other beds were cheap or outdated and uncomfortable. We did have plenty of linens and towels though! The dryer needs an update, it took at least 2-3 cycle restarts to get an average sized load dried. Overall the house was just okay and could really stand to have a thorough deep clean and update. The location was perfect though. For reference we had 2 families with multiple kids ranging from 3-13 and 2 additional couples.

Great location but VERY misleading home

The location of the home is ideal. Right on the beach. The home itself was not very clean. The amenities listed either were not available to guests (fireplace) or did not work (hot tub jets and sauna). Towels and sheets had stains and there was so much dust in the vents air could not adequately get through. There was dust and cob webs in the upstairs hallway and on fixtures. The dishwasher was out of service but left loaded with dirty dishes from previous people. The house sleeps 14, but there are not enough dishes or silverware for everyone at one time. We had to purchase paper plates and silverware to use during out stay. There were 2 garbage bags left for 14 people over 3 days. We had to purchase garbage bags. The upstairs main toilet did not operate correctly and we had to remove the lid every time someone had to flush to ensure the handle did not fall off. There was visible water damage on the ceiling above the fireplace in the living room and a small hole where it appeared to have been drained. If amenities are not available to guests or not functioning properly, they should not be listed as a "perk" of the home. The cleaners showed up before checkout time. Did not go above and beyond by any means. Bedding is noticeably aged and well used. Couches have boards under the cushions and are very uncomfortable. The white chairs in the living room have foam pads covering springs poking out. Streaks were left all over windows and mirrors. Very poor quality care of the home.

Our local manager assured us that these items have been remedied and housekeeping has been addressed. To clarify, the fireplace is not a listed amenity for this home, and we are sorry for any disappointment this caused. The sauna was tested and it is in good working order. We're glad to report that the dishwasher has been replaced and the toilet handle is fixed. An inventory of the silverware and dishes was done and the local team will work with the homeowner to replace any pieces needed. Our stay in this home was adequate. Thankfully, our party is good about making the best of less than desirable circumstances. We were notified a week before our stay that the dryer was not functioning, which is a fairly significant inconvenience when you have 14 people in a home, half of which were children. Within 2 days of being in the home, there were pretty significant hot water inadequacies, meaning we could only get a few people showered throughout the day or dishes washed without running out of hot water. This happened on more than one occasion throughout the week. This required a call to the host and troubleshooting with hot water heaters and the electric breaker panel. One of the burners didn’t get hot, and the freezer wasn’t cold enough to keep ice cream frozen so we lost a bunch of ice cream we had purchased at the Tillamook creamery. We’ve stayed at a few other homes in Rockaway and they have been fairly well stocked with detergents, garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels etc. This house was not…except for toilet paper. The best part about this home was the beach access. We will not stay in this home again.
