Enjoy a comfortable mountain getaway at this remodeled one-bedroom, one-bath condo in Cascade Village, located just 1.6 miles from Purgatory Resort. Set 26 miles north of Durango and 20 miles south of Silverton, Cascade Village is an ideal home base for enjoying the San Juan Mountains year-round, with skiing, hiking, sightseeing, and other outdoor adventures all within easy reach.

The open-concept living area connects the fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and living room, making it easy to cook and spend time together. The kitchen features brand-new GE stainless steel appliances and everything you need to prepare meals at home. After a day of exploring, settle into the comfortable living room with a couch and two cozy chairs, or curl up with a good book and a cup of cocoa while enjoying the warmth of the fire.

The living room couch converts to a queen-size sleeper sofa, providing additional sleeping space when needed. A flatscreen TV with satellite programming and a DVD player offer entertainment for relaxing evenings, with a collection of DVDs available to enjoy during your stay.

The bedroom provides plenty of room to settle in for a longer stay, with a large bed, two nightstands, two dressers, and a spacious closet. A second flatscreen TV with satellite programming and a Blu-ray player gives you another option for relaxing in the evening. High-speed internet is available throughout the condo and in the main lodge, making it easy to stay connected whether you're checking in on work or planning the next day's adventure.

The spacious bathroom features a large double-sink vanity, giving two guests room to get ready at the same time. An oversized jetted tub with a shower provides a relaxing place to unwind after a day spent skiing, hiking, or exploring the mountains.

Cascade Village offers a convenient setting for enjoying the area in every season. In winter, Purgatory Resort is just 1.6 miles away for skiing and snowboarding, while the surrounding mountains offer additional opportunities for snowshoeing and other winter activities. The building is not called whispering pines. So that made it very difficult to find the condo. The key pad is very finicky - sometimes you have to go fast, sometimes slow, no directions on how to clear first

Great deal for a weekend ski trip

The property was perfect for my long weekend ski trip. The condo was well furnished and the kitchen very well stocked for all my needs.

The condo was great!The owners need to be in touch with the management company and allow guest to inquire with questions.As it is all you know is what you read online while booking.Never answered me on if the unit could be accessed without climbing stairs. We could but we didn’t know that until we got there.

Great location for Silverton and Durango

Good location for traveling between Silverton and Durango. Easy check-in, plenty of parking. No elevator access, king size mattress is damaged and probably the very worst mattress I’ve ever experienced. If you are a single, you would be ok, but there is a 3 inch dip to the center and no couple could sleep comfortably on that. Replacing the mattress is a must.

Good accommodations…improvement needed.

Whispering Pines #306 was clean, had a well equipped kitchen and the perfect amount of space for our family. Underground parking was a plus. However, the mattresses were VERY uncomfortable. The owner should invest in new mattresses for the king, sleeper sofa and roll out. Proximity to the ski resort was good, but we will likely choose a different unit in Cascade Village next time. A restful night sleep is very important after a long day of skiing.

Not clean

First, my complaints are with the management, not the condo, which is nice enough for the price. It is a typical low end ski area condo with all of the amenities you would expect. Our issues were with the cleaning. Fridge and microwave handles with visible fingerprints, kitchen counters with loose grit all over them, and we were picking shards of broken glass out of the carpet all week. No response from a text to Vacasa. Finally a canned we are sorry response late in the week after I found a place to e-mail them hidden on their app. We will never do another Vacasa unit.

Great location and very well furnished

Served as great access to high country fishing, hiking and short trips to Silverton, Durango and Ouray. The unit was very well furnished, well stocked kitchen to prepare all our meals and owners have tended to every detail. Felt like home. Impressed.

We had a wonderful time. The apartment was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. The apartment is very close to the Purgatory ski resort and it was very convenient to get to it. Would stay here again.

Great property. Was perfect for us. Plenty of room for two people. It was very hot when we were there. A small in room air conditioner would have been a great feature. Did lose a new Apple Watch and hope it is found and returned.

Great little place to stay.

Kitchen is well equipped, the jetted tub was nice but not enough hot water, the bed was very comfortable. Will definitely look into staying here again in the future.

Quiet Time

The property gave us a quiet getaway for a weekend, then for me a week's worth. Just the right time of year! All was well except for the needed wi-fi connection. Owner's wi-fi was poor at best. Due to the persistence of a Vacasa representative we were given the name and password to the neighbor's wi-fi (with their permission). Dining chairs are in good condition except a couple of them have dried out enough that the support rungs for the legs were coming out of their holes. Lemon oil and wood glue would be a remedy. Otherwise, it was very pleasant.

Overall stay was great. Finding the unit # was an extremely frustrating beginning to my stay. List a building name or show a property map. Being informed the pool and hot tub were still closed when other resort pools are opened would have been courteous.

Better than expected

Roomy, clean, in good maintenance, brand new kitchenware and appliances, fireplace, convenient location just 1 mi from the ski resort. Check-in / check-out was as easy as it could, all information provided accurately and on time, no communication with management ever needed. Second time I book with Vacasa, and all great experience so far.
